The best

I heard about these strings and someone told me I must try them and I won't regret. Bla, bla , I thought ... Shame on me. I bought them first in 2017 , for my Line 6 Variax , as I read on a forum that they are a very good replacement for the stock ones that my guitar came with. That was the 2-nd time... So, I said to myself let's give them a try. I don't regret for sure. The feeling is unbelievable. You can bend with absolute no struggle. The sound is great , as it is with D'addario ... it seems to me that they are more resonant , because of the balanced tension on all strings. I use only these on all my electric guitars since then. Try them for yourself. You might like them too.

Top strings

Been using them for a long time. Long lasting, can produce good tones and can withstand heavy down picking.

Comfortable and clear, good for practice

I really liked these for practicing bends and you can stock up with the discount. No breaks as of yet.

Noticable positive difference

Compared to regular string sets that I've used, there is a very noticeable difference in how more in balance the whole set plays. Every string requires pratically the same amount of force to be played and that makes it play much smoother, to me.

Until I read about string tensions and tried this set, I wasn't even aware that that sort of weird-but-not-really-important feeling was coming from the wildly different string tensions in a standard set!

But now it instantly feels like I don't want to go back, sigh!

I am only a beginner guitarist, so take my word as you want.

Balanced tension

I always wanted that the string manufacturers came up with this! a similar string tension to every string, genial.

i am a AM stratocaster user, and these strings make my tremolo set-op work very smoothly. i feel like my guitar gets much less out of tune after a strong use of the tremolo. It is just feel right... just make your 3 springs straight and set the right amount of floating and you'll notice what i'm talking about.

For bending they are also more consistent somehow, or maybe oneself get more consistency in that technique due the similar feel between the strings.

i did not pu the 5 stars in the sound and quality, we all know there are better sounding and fine done strings out there, but d'addarios are always good for the battle.

Use 10 for my Gibson LP instead of 9 - the sound has become more saturated

Normal strings with colored balls. But in my opinion Gibson is better.

Fantastic strings

One of the few string companies who keeps improving their products, instead of making the same thing over and over again. These balanced tension sets just feel right ! Playing the guitar is more pleasant than ever. Other than that, D'Addario strings are very reliable, sound great, long lasting and the price is amazing ! Give them a try !

Balanced tension is the way forward.

I have been using balanced tension sets (both this and the 11-50 flavour) from D'addario for ca 9 months now and I don't see myself ever going back to regular tension sets unless I have to (e.g when I need something like the 10.5-48 set).

-Sound quality is excellent, as always from D'addario.

-Feel of the strings is great and stays great - needing roughly the same amount of force to fret any string at any given fret is beautiful.

No more weird dead-notes during barre chords because the strings with the highest tensions lie underneath the curviest part of your index finger....

The only negative I can think of is that if you like to switch beetwen regular interval and dropped tuning, the lowest string can feel even more sloppy than with a regular set - as afterall almost all strings have the same tension here.

Happy with DAddario Strings

I like the quality and feel of the DAddario EXL110BT strings, the only down side is that they come all together and for me some of the colours were confusing, so I needed to basically look at the gauge of the string to know what is what. They could improve it or do like Ernie Ball and add one string on each pack. But I won't put my rate down for that, it's a matter of personal preference.

Great Strings

D'addario strings have been my strings for my 15 years of guitar playing hand some others in the way but always came to D'addario again.

Sound:

The EXL110BT have a bright tone and maintain that brightness for more time. I always use 10's so can't say they will be same in the others. Its the first time i bought this model but had a pleasant surprise.

Durability:

Like other strings if you treat them good they will last. Mine usually last for a long time and i play everyday, as for long i mean 3/4 months.

I recommend these strings and D'addario to everyone, always used them and recommend them to my students too.

A subtle difference, but a good one

Not much else to say - if you've used D-Addario's normal 10 sets, this is very very similar. There is a slight difference though, and the middle strings definitely don't stand out as being tighter than the outer ones. I like 'em.

Well made set of strings

These strings are well made and sound great, I can't say I've noticed much difference in tone with them being balanced tension but it certainly gives a more even feel across all strings when bending.

Balanced Tension strings 10-46

I recently tried out a set of the balanced tension strings and I thought they were brilliant.

They have a far more balanced feel across all of the strings compared to the standard 10-46 daddario set.

They seem to be lasting longer than a standard set as well, about 4 gigs compared to 3 gigs with the standard set. I'm not sure whether there's anything different with the strings or if I have altered the way I play but I'm very happy with the longevity of these strings.

Soundwise I haven't noticed any difference in the tone or loudness of these strings, acoustically or through an amp.

I'd recommend these strings, they're a nice upgrade on the standard set of 10's daddario have.

Balanced tension!

Before I start the review, I would just like to say that I wish D'Addario would make balanced tension sets for stainless steel strings, too! I'm sure a lot of guitarists would buy them!

But the nickel wound strings are ok, too.

Balanced tension means exactly what it says; you get approximately equal tension in all strings.

This is helpful in giving an even feel when playing but also helps with the tone, too, in my opinion. Why? Because all things being equal, the tightness (or looseness) of a string affects the attack, sustain and decay of the note(s).

I like medium attack/sustain/decay. And for the tuning I use (E flat) it is more or less medium tension. So I'm happy! :)

Also, I think balanced tension means the neck, too, is happy! :))

Needless to say, I am 100% satisfied with Thömann's fast and professional service and their customer service is excellent. Always ready to help.
