Love declaration

I have played these strings for 6 or so years. I have tried other strings for short periods, but I always switch back to these because you get exactly what you expect.

They have great clarity and the fresh sound you get from a new set of strings last a long time. The tone is beautiful and have a fantastic response to how hard or how soft you're playing. They're so durable I end up changing strings for the hell of it when I'm doing touch ups on my guitar.

Great strings

I?ve used all the usual suspects but Daddario strings are my favourite brand. I had been using the NYXL Daddario's which are very good but thought I would try these to save a few pennies. Honestly I don't feel there is enough in it to ever go back to the expensive NYXL's these tune up nicely and have a nice clear tone and feel and play great on my Les Paul. Highly recommended

Excellent Strings

I've used Daddario strings for many years and find these ones to be no different in quality.

I use them on a Jim Root Telecaster tuned down to D standard.

They're perfect for the job; nice and thick that provide good rhythms, can stay in tune and can take a beating.

The tension is just to my liking too.

Can't recommend highly enough.

Reliable strings !

It took me a while to test many brands and cauges but finally i found this set which is perfect for my taste. I use these strings for standard D and drop C tuning,

They produce a bright , rich tone on distortion and warm tone on cleans.

Their tension its perfect for me . No tuning stability problems though !

They just feel perfect !

Good strings, with a good reputation

I've been using these strings for several years now, and i've yet to find any that beats them in terms on consistency and overall quality, especially for the price.

I use these strings for E Standard, Drop D and for D? standard tunings, and they feel great across the board.

I play primarily metal and hard rock, but these strings sound great for just about anything.

I highly recommend these strings for anyone who wants a step up from regular .10-.46 strings, or are experimenting with different strings and brands etc.

Try them out, they wont disappoint!

Great strings

This is the first set of Daddario strings I have purchased as I normally use another brands, however, I will definitely be purchasing them again. The strings feel nice to play in both standard and drop D tunings, sound clear and hold their tuning well. The colour coded ends which correspond to each sting are extremely helpful as many a time I have spent far too long trying to distinguish between the high E and B sting after mixing them up, this colour code eliminates this problem.

Great for down tuning

As would be expected with D'Addario strings, the main reason I use these is due to their durability. I keep strings on my guitars longer then I really should, and these tend to last months at a time. When new, they sound clear and have a great chime. When old, they lose their sparkle but they stay in tune well and still sound decent. I hardly ever break them in spite of my aggressive picking style. I generally tune down a full step and I sometimes use drop C. These give plenty of tension. They're also really good for E standard tuning on cheaper guitars where 9s or 10s would usually go out of tune. Another feature I like is the coloured ball ends found on all D'Addario strings which makes restringing much easier.

Fantastic durable strings

I am a lifelong user of Daddario strings and I always choose the EXL116 for my guitars that I use for playing in a full step down (D Standard) and drop C and these strings fit the bill every time!

These are some of the highest quality strings on the market for the price. I know some people prefer the more expensive brands but in my personal opinion (having used basically every string on the market) these strings have the same, if not better, durability and lasting life as the more expensive brands.

These strings give a perfect mellow sound for those bluesy/clean riffs but also have more than enough bite for rock and heavy metal. I highly recommend these strings for D Standard and drop C tunings! If you want to go to drop B or A, then I recommend the EXL117's which give you just a bit more tension on the low E and holds a great tone and bite, as do the EXL116's!

Safe Bet

I have been using Daddario strings (these ones or with a different gauge) since I have basically started to play the guitar.

I have never been disappointed by this brand. Quality is good for a very affordable price.

The strings come in a sealed plastic "bag" that protect them from rust.

The sound is thick, clear and bright and they are comfortable to play with. I use them in normal tuning while many players use them in Drop D or other alternative tuning but it is perfectly fine.

As regards longevity It obliviously depends on the way you treat your gear and on each one physiology but I would say that in my case, playing everyday for at least a couple of hours, I change them every 3-4 months.

Daddario EXL116

Very great strings. especially when you put them first time, sound is amazing! clear and bright! Very good for record with a good amp system. Clear sound if you play in acoustic mode with electroguitar, and heavy sound in disturtion mode. Highly Recommend, especially if you play in Drop!

Best string money can buy!

Never had any problems with Daddario strings. I have been using Daddarios since 2006 and they always have the best tone and last the longest of any other strings I have tried.

Good set

Really good set of strings. 4th and 5th strings are a bit too high tension in comparison to other ones, but everything else is good. Strings don't loose tone, and don't rust too much.

Still using since arrival, Still as new!

These strings have been on my strat since they came and have not lost any tone since the day they went on. great strings for low tunings, which is mostly what I use.I am very satisfied with this product and I will be using these strings again in the future!

Some of the best for drop tuning

I have tried these on many different guitars through the years, on all kinds of tunings ranging from standard E through drop D, D, C and all the way down to B (yes, on a 6-string!) and they deliver!

If you want to go as deep as B a Floyd Rose or similar equipment might be necessary (it's hard to tune a strat that low in my experience), but for D or just drop tuning these are also great.

Heavy, thick, easy to play and with a good ring to them. Excellent for playing metal and blues, probably for jazz as well.
