Great Strings!

I use these for Drop C on my 25.5" scale guitar and they are great. They hold tuning, are quite bright which I like and are the right thickness to keep tension for this kind of tuning.

Love them!!!

Just that...

I find in them anything I need, tone and definition-wise, and I just couldn't be happier with their quality!!!

I like to play around with different tunings, and thet offer a wide range of gauges. Also, the fact that a huge range of singles of any gauge are available to customize sets, is brilliant!!!

From time to time I try other brands, and many are OK, but is just I have found my feel and tone with D'Addario, and I'm always going back to using them.

It's a matter of taste, as always when sound is involved.

For me they're PERFECT, I love them!!!

use it for drop B

I use this strings for drop B tuning (so C# with a lowered to B C# string) and they feel quite good. I am used to play with ultra light strings on standard tuning (usually an hybrid 8-46) so they feel a bit harder then expected. I guess they would be too hard for me if i would be tuning the guitar another half step up to the standard D tuning suggested on the box. But it's just a personal preference. I changed the 56 to a 60 for the low B.

Drop C

D'addario.... What else to say....

Perfect, I tuned my guitar in C G C F A D. The strings are not too hard, not too soft, it's a real pleasure to play with.

The souns is not super bright, but it's perfect for me, and is also multi-task, of course, depending of the pick-ups as well, but yeah, you can really enjoy the strings whatever you are playing.

Don't hesitate if you play with D tuning or Drop C.

One problem

The strings are fine in general, nothing special. BUT, there was one issue. The pack I got had two strings with exactly the same gauge. Namely there were two B strings, so the third string was very loose for drop c tuning. Bought the same set from a local music shop later and this one was fine. All in all its a great set of strings for drop C tuning on LP style guitar, just this little mixup.

The tension I was looking for

This is exactly what I was looking for in terms of tension. Great strings, well build (as expected), and very easy to play with. The only downside for me is that they sound a little too bright for my taste, but that is just my personal opinion.

I didn't like to play brand new strings before, but ...

... these strings are extremely playable when brand new. I used to like strings that have been played for some weeks, but now I'm cleaning strings after every session with string cleaner to keep them like new. They have a nice metal-ringing tone. I tune them to D-standard as well as drop C. In D-standard, I heavily use a tremolo bar, so they get loaded pretty well. The last set lasted for about 4 months before the bass A broke. They doesn't seem to be hard at the bottom as I used to know 'hard' in other brands. Once they're set, they are settled overnight to get locked.

I use these strings on a Hagstrom Viking to play downtuned blues.

Cheap enough to always have a couple extra laying around.

Great strings

Daddario strings are amazing guitar strings, what more could you want?

Good strings but high end sound does not last long

Ok strings. Do not brake easily on my les Paul. Tuned whole step down. Compared to ernie ball strings with similar thickness these seem to lose high end on the sound earlier(after about 4-5 hours od intensive playing). Of course while regularly cleaning the string.

good strings for drop tunings

I use these strings for my Schecter Hellraiser, set in Drop B. Any other string gauge lighter than this is way too loose, just not enough tension. This is a very well balanced set, sounds great, I love the tension in Drop B, not too tight and not too lose, very playable even in tight rhythms.

Totally recommended if you are going for C# tuning or Drop B. If you are planning to go any lower, definitely look for thicker gauges.

Great for D-Standard

I finally found the perfect string size for D standard, using my PRS Custom 24.

The standard "heavy bottom" sets were either too heavy all together or just not very well balanced.

This set has a nice, balanced response across all strings, at least in D Standard.

The low string has enough tension to drop it down to C if needed.

Great find!

Overall cheap and good strings. I use these for both recording and live performances, tuning in drop B, and while for that tuning maybe I should try some strings that are a bit bigger still, I am good with these. The sound is good, balanced and natural, and they last more than I would have expected from uncoated strings.

I would definately recomend them.

my go to

I play mostly in drop tunings so this pack was great for me.

The tone is amazing, and the feel is as always perfect. Lasted me a while, which i now is bad but honestly had no issue.

Breaking in was only a short period of time and it was ready a few hours later.

I play hard and a lot of show but never had a breakage to so I know I am gong to play comfortably with these

The best strings

This brand is really great at strings - every series is the same great quality. Cool bright sound. Hard to brake them.

Tried and true D'addario strings

I used this strings for many years now for c# tuning and they just sing. I never had any problems with them, they are pretty durable ,nothing over the top but they're fine. If you want something for c#, drop b, drop c , try these, you cant go wrong with D'addario.

Best sound . Low price for that Quality. Nergal of polish band Behemoth uses D` Addario.

Great strings

My string of choice. I tune to double drop C (C-G-C-F-A-C), and these are just right for it - nice and tight, but still bendable.

I honestly don't notice any difference in feel, sound, durability etc. between any of the nickelwound strings out there, but D'Addario have the right gauges for me, and they're well priced. Add in the colour-coded ball ends, and it's a no-brainer.

Great, but...

I feel that these are a little too heavy for a standard 6-string guitar.

As with all D'addario strings, the tone is fantastic.

Daddario for a lifetime

I play Guitar for over 10 years, and Daddario has proven itself for all this time. Daddario strings are strong made and excellent quality though the low price. Great sounding and perfect gauge. This is an ultimate string set for a metal or metalcore. Heavy bottom gives you fat chuggs and medium top allows you to play lead parts without "sagging" your notes.
