Daddario EXL120+ 5-stars Reviews
It’s daddario quality. What can you expect? The custom gauge between 9 and 10 felt really nice for a while.
After some time I felt craving for a heavier top. So I will go back to 9-46. Give it a go if you’re tired of 10’s.
My ideal gauge for Strat guitars...
Good strings, for me ideal gauge.
I like to use something that nobody do at the one hand, on another it is not too thin as 9s so you have to change strings every 7 days, not 10s that do not have such vibrations, feel, connection with Stratocaster because of scale length ( on Les Paul it is another story ) . So if You are strat player try it !!!
Great strings
Really like the tone and the quality of these strings. They are my prefered type of strings.
took a try on one of my guitars, good value for money. reliable product.
Perfect compromise
I use them in my Strats. I find 10s a bit too much for big bends and 9s a bit too thin.
Solid strings
Behave like 10s, feel like 9s
Nice!!!
I have a set of these on my Strat right now and I like them a lot, after finding that 10s don't work for me. I plan on using them on a HB35-Plus as well, where the scale is shorter and they will feel somewhat closer to 9s. Looking forward to that.
The in between string.
I use these strings on guitars that that can feel too light with 9" gauge and too stiff with 10" gauge, usually Superstrat type guitars.
As with all d'addario strings quality is always excellent!
Perfect gauge
9.5 is baby bear's string gauge in the goldilocks story.
When10 is too heavy and 09 is too light
They're Daddarios. Of course they great. Perfect to replace both 09 and 10. When10 is too heavy and 09 is too light. My new favorite strings
Inbetween perfection
I always bounce forth and back between 0,009 inch and 0,010 inch XL string sets of the famous Italian D’Addario brand, which started their stringmaking with violins, by the way.
This 9 “Plus” set therefore became the perfect solution for my eternal changing of thicknesses. On a Jimi like strat it sounds fine if the pickups are professional, on a Harley Benton they also give a certain brightness in the perpetual darkness, and on Squier strats and teles they also perform very good in midrange and high end.
I even put them on my Eric Clapton Signature.
Great strings.
These are great strings and I like the fact that they are in between 9s and 10s as they are perfect for calibrating tension between different scale guitars.
Good quality, plays smooth, low wear
Quality is very good, never broke one. They are very durable (used them regularly for 4 months and they were still ok. The tone of the fresh strings is pretty bright, so not for everyone's taste. When you "play them in" they become a little warmer, I like that. They feel like 9.5 gauge strings and really helped me smoothen the transition from 9 gauge to 10 gauge.
Perfect
They are well made and they sound good.
Perfect gauge for me
If you don't get along with 9's and 10's feel too heavy, than this set might be for you!
Great Sounding Strings
Bought these to experiment with as I find 10s are a bit heavy and they are perfect. The unwound strings are just that bit thicker than 9s and twang better.
Just right
Not too thick and not too thin, just right for me. Highly recommended. I have used 009 and 010 in the past, now I use 0095...
Perfect gauge..
I've used these strings for years now. They're just a little heavier than the usual 9-42 that most people seem to like, so they still feel 'light' but they have a stronger sound and feel more stable. Great balance, and I've never broken one. So long as you clean them after playing (and I use a string lubricant too) they last a good time. Much better value than the coated varieties.
