Best entry level Option

Entry level set of string i use them for everyday practice and home recording. Cristal clear sound and very solid material. I ususally don't do any cleaning or conditioning on my daily practice guitar, just tune it and play, yet those string keep a good qualyty of sound and intonation for may hour of hard playing . unless you are studio recording or playing live intensely this is the string i will suggest you to buy. economic but not cheap, reliable, durable and very nice clear sound.

Good sound and feel

Great strings with a bright sound. These have always been my favourites.

However, I removed one star because i noticed they got rusty easily (after 4-5 hours of playing). But that is probably due to my excessive playing in the summer, which means there is also sweating involved.

These are still my favourite strings. Very sturdy and hard to break a string with these ones. If you have a Floyd Rose style bridge, these are near impossible to break.

Good strings!

For years I have been using this string model and they give a good response, besides the quality price is good because for the price that other famous/historic brands have , they cost much more and the result is the same, if you want a string at a very good price. I recommend them if you want a middle product

standard tuning strings

these are some of my favorite strings for standard tuning/drop d. They sound good, last a lot (if well kept). I always go for either these or ernie ball.

Workhorse strings for easy playability

D'Addario is known for reasonably priced commodity strings that provide consistent quality and durability throughout string's life. I've tested probably 2/3 of all of the available D'addario gauges, from ultra light to the heavy flatwound jazz strings.

Given that strings are covered with nickel, the touch is neutral and soft on fingers.

The tone is bright. However proper manipulation of the tone pot and the EQ section of the amp warms it up. The problem for some genres might be lack of fatness of the high E string. However, it can be augmented with an overdrive or boost pedal with pronounced mid section. Transparent pedals keep the tone of that string still rather thin.

The strings give an impression of a solid tension unlike some other lighter gauges, even with guitars characterized by a short scale length. Strings don't get floppy. The strings are highly recommended for longer scale guitars (like Fender Stratocasters). If you play heavy riffs on the bass strings with a hard pick attack, there might be too much movement on a short scale guitars before a string returns to the original position. More tension might be required, especially on short scale guitars (like Gibson Les Pauls).

One other minor disadvantage may be a slightly worn feel comparing to the higher D'Addario gauges. This however, might be just a matter of adjustment and due to the differences of guitar setup and extraneous fret noise, depending on the string action.

There are cases of nickel allergies, so player should first test if there is no such condition that would make his or her life miserable.

This workhorse string set is extremely popular and I can only recommend it, given reliability and feel. If you play with guitars equipped with higher gauge strings, the feel of E and B strings might be a matter of adjustment. It's easy to overbend, so some mental calibration might be necessary for those players.

Good strings

Daddario are the benchmark strings. Sound quality is good for Nickel-Plated, but nowadays I prefer pure nickel.

A great all rounder for me, this is my usual choice of string, occasionally I try something different but always keep these in stock & just keep coming back to them.

Great sounding strings - maybe not as durable as others however

Light and slinky and sound great. Maybe it's just me but I thought that perhaps they didn't last as long as Ernie Ball's for example.

muffled low end, dull highs

I've used D'Addarios 9-42 before, but being a long-time EB user, I decided to buy these strings. The tone is just flat. The bass-strings has a muffled low-end, and the treble strings has too much upper-mids (not in a musically pleasant way). It is sonically unbalanced across the board. It may sound good in certain amps, but for a Marshall or Marshall clones, the strings are just horrid. The strings feels like they're in their breaking point when doing bends. When my amp's master volume is raised up to 4, ear fatigue ensues. D'Addario is definitely not my cup of tea.

One of the Industries finest budget strings..

I have been using Daddario strings for a number of years on all my guitars.. Never fail to let me down. Nice sound with good sustain.. Tried out a lot of other makes but find these are still in my top 5...

Guitar string brand that I'd recommend to everyone.

I've been using a wide range of strings, but these are definitely my favourite guitar strings. They're durable and feel nice against your fingers, and the sound is awesome. And even a set as light as this sounds good with both heavier and lighter types of music.

Fine pack

This daddarion string pack sounds good. Don't know how long it will last. Trying to stretch it as much as possiible while playing. Holds up the tuning quite well. Should order some more this style.

Good for everything

These strings are really great for whatever the style of music you want to play with your guitar. All around great vibe and touch. They tend to get a little floppy when in lower tunings like drop C or below but I personally love these strings whenever i have to play jazz or funk or that kind of stuff.
