Okay Strings
These strings sound really great and feel super smooth when you put them on. However, after a couple of days of playing they already lose their smoothness. I guess this has something to do with oxidization which happens really fast in my case. I guess I will stick with Elixir the next time.
Lasting brightness
Bought these to test. Have had them for about 9 moths on a Les Paul which I only play at home. Surprised at how it has retained brightness over the period. Tuned low, tension is no issue but would be a little harder to bend on standard tuning. Price is reasonable for the pack. Would definitely use them for recording.
Go to strings for the last 10 years
Ive used these strings since I started playing guitar again 11-12 years ago. In that time I've tried numerous other brands but always come back to these.
I find these strings are easy to break and once they have broken in they retain their desired tuning well. They last fairly well and remain bright for me for 3-4 weeks, which is about 1 hours play time a day.
I use this gauge of string for D standard on 25.5 inch necks and E standard on 24.75. They have a nice even tension across the fretboard.
I also use this gauge on a 27 Inch baritone in A, with a 60 on the low A.
Overall this pack represents great value for money as they last me a good while and I haven't broken a string in while, admittedly I tend not to play to many solos so can;t give an honest review if you send your time on the higher strings.
