Daddario EXL148 Reviews
Ideal en accordage Drop C
Super jeu, installé sur plusieurs de mes guitares en drop C. Ne frise pas, maintient la note et durée de vie excellente si on les entretient un peu.
Top notch!
Simple set with the standard Daddario quality. Be aware that may require adjustment of the nut etc in order to allow the strings to fit.
good string for drop C
I've used these string for drop C tuning and I really liked them. they're not my go to strings right now, but they're a good alternative when I can't find what I usually use. they last a good amount of time and sound bright and crisp.
They're okay but not special
If you're looking for strings for drop B, like I did, you'd be better off served with 13-62 from the same company as those are much better strings. These strings are better fit for drop C, and even at that tuning, the low C string feel floppy. These also don't last as long -- I use regular D'addarios 10s on my guitars in standard so I could compare - these sound good only for a day or two then they dull out. Was really disappointed with the sound quality and longevity of these.
My favorite set for drop B
I was experimenting for years with different sets of strings and in the end finished with trusty Dadario EXL148. In drop B on a standart scale guitar it sounds percussive, yet full and tight enough to play fast traccato riffs or groovy progmetal stuff.
I buy strings for drop B tuning on Fender.
It's good strings for drop B on fender strat (for EADGBe I use 10-46) and this has the same tension.
I love Daddario
I love these strings for drop B tuning on a standard scale guitar. These could also work for drop C but that low 60 might be a little too thick
Still the best uncoated strings for lower tuning
I'm tuned in C# standard and these strings are my go-to brand and gauge.
I've tried many brands and several different gauges and types of strings within those brands. I have not tried many coated strings, except Elixir, but uncoated still feels better to me.
Strings last me about 2 weeks, playing 2 to 4 hours on a daily basis as well as live shows.
Timeless quality
Basically I have tried and used almost every brand of strings but somehow I always end up using Daddario. I use them on a regular basis on my main guitar and it's what you'd expect out of a guitar string.
They bend quite nicely and the eq curve to me sounds pretty flat in a good way so you don't loose any specific frequency too much when they get dirty and old. What I've always liked about Daddario in general is the consistent quality and behaviour of the string regardless if it's the first or hundredth set.
I only wish they'd last longer but since they're not coated it's what you get.
perfect for c standard
i use these srings on my tele for c standard. I play progressive death metal so the right tension is a must.
pros:
perfect tension to get a sharp attack
last at least a month
nice and bright
cons:
unwound g can be a bit wobbly in the tuning department but other than that none.
overall:
good strings
My goto strings
I always use these strings since forever. I play in Drop C tuning, so these fit quite perfect. They never rust on me, they almost never break (and I run those things for months and months on end).
Perhaps wish they had same set with a wound 3rd, but then again when I used a wound 3rd the bends on solos became kinda hard on me.
Overall - very high quality and reliable strings. Would recommend to anyone.
When U need core
Nothing like substance, and these strings do have it. The experience of low tuning make us discover the way some songs were created. These are very good for the price.
great for c standard
this string are thicker than what i used to but really great for c standard good quality and well balanced strings
Perfect for C tuning
If your into playing QOTSA, those are the the strings to go. Great sound and note clarity
Best bang for the buck, in my opinion.
I've been playing D'addarios for a long time. They sound good, and I cannot recall having ever broken one. Music I often plays involves really abusing the strings, and if I'm honest I leave them on too long - and still I have never had one break on me. I use the baritone set for down tunings.
Perfect for C standard
I use this set on an Ibanez RG560 in C standard (25.5'' scale lenght) and on a Solar A2.6 Baritone in B standard (26.5'' scale lenght).
The tension is perfect on both guitars, and they last fairly long if you keep them clean.
Great strings!
I love the sound of them!
Perfect set of strings for drop C! Long lasting and they sound great!
excellent
I wanted to try these instead of ernie balls.
They're a tiny bit brighter it seems. I'm not a heavy picker but they seem durable.
I use them for tuning to B.
big pro, my cat loves to play with them (making changing strings at home a little adventure)
EXL 148 Strings
Specially wound for DROP C tuning these well made strings get the job done, just put them on your guitar for the songs that need a down tune and they will perform their job. Recommended for the job they are intended they sound great and last well.
