Daddario PL010 Single String Reviews
Useful option..
Great to be able to purchase singles,I keep a few of the top three for standard 10 gauge in stock....must admit I've never been a user of Daddario, not because I can't pronounce them(I'd a buddy who gave up using them due to the ridicule he got trying to pronounce the brand)but because they were the only brand I used that snapped anyway often gigging...would much prefer to see Ernie Ball on offer....
The best strings
I've been gigging D'Addario strings for at least 10 years and they are by far the best strings I've found. However, every so often, I do break the top E, so these are great to keep in the case for mid-gig emergencies!
D'Addario Plain string
Let's start with the sound. They sound great, especially in the beginning when they are new, they have an amazing clarity which I really love and thats the only reason I use them becasue...
The quality is really poor, the sound deteriarates very fast and worst of all the ball end sits very poor on these strings, they very easily break. I usually place a little bit of tin with the soldering iron near the ball end so that they won't break. I don't know how many times I've had these strings break. Really poor quality. D'Addario needs to do something about this.
Despite all this I still use them occasionally simply because I like the sound and feel of them.
My standard reserve for g/b/e!
I have been using these strings as a standard reserve for the last three years and they do the job that they are supposed to do. They last a couple of months but really only serve the purpose of a broken string at rehearsal and during gigs. Highly recommended.
