Good for low humidity

I am an beginner, with a hand-me-down guitar. I restringed the guitar with Elixir Optiwebs, one string broke because of a dumb mistake.

Since I didn't knew the difference from coated and uncoated strings, I bought the Danddario single string.

Long story short, I now have a rusty string with 5 coated ones. At the beginning though they sounded amazing and if you don't have coated strings this will be good for you.

Please don't make the same mistake as me...

D'Addario Plain string

Let's start with the sound. They sound great, especially in the beginning when they are new, they have an amazing clarity which I really love and thats the only reason I use them becasue...

The quality is really poor, the sound deteriarates very fast and worst of all the ball end sits very poor on these strings, they very easily break. I usually place a little bit of tin with the soldering iron near the ball end so that they won't break. I don't know how many times I've had these strings break. Really poor quality. D'Addario needs to do something about this.

Despite all this I still use them occasionally simply because I like the sound and feel of them.
