It's ok, but not for lower tones

Lower notes sounds very muddy, disappointed..

Digitech sounds that don't take up half your board.

I'm mostly using it to droptune at the moment, but the separate adjustments for the sweep up and down it actually makes songs that feature a whammy viable for me. I suffer from bad hips and poor balance, making precise control of the floating footplate almost impossible for me.

Unfortunately having to set the trajectory speed can be challenging and I'm sure these would do much better with an exp pedal jack, because the sound is great.

You can squeeze A LOT out of this pedal

The Ricochet is an awesome pedal and delivers great, clean sounding pitch effects. Apart from more experimental effects, I was pleasantly surprised how easily I could even play songs like 'Wish You Were Here' by Pink Floyd when combined with my choice of reverb and delay. This fall and rise rate knob is awesome and makes nailing consistent sounds easy (when compared to using the pedal on something like the Digitech Whammy).

Quality is awesome and so is the design (as can be expected from many Digitech pedals).

Well worth the price and highly recommended.

Great pedal!

Delivered on time, works well for down tuning and doing pedal bends. Sometimes the sound can be a bit too digital, especially with distortion. Otherwise it's great

Pushing Boundaries with Whammy

The DigiTech Whammy Ricochet Pitch Shifter has quickly become an indispensable part of my pedal collection. It brings the iconic pitch shifting effects of the legendary DigiTech Whammy into a compact, stompbox size, without compromising on the sound quality or functionality.

The first thing that strikes you about the Ricochet is its simplicity. The layout is intuitive and easy to get a handle on, even for those new to pitch shifting. The Shift and Return knobs allow you to control the rate of pitch bend, while the Pitch knob lets you select the interval, ranging from a subtle detune to a dramatic two-octave shift.

Awesome

It is an excellent price-performance product because it is small and does not look for its brother at all.

Its very good and thought out. The knobs are great in function and you can achieve sounds you want and experiment with things.

Better than expected

bought this as the full sized whammy is just so, well, full sized. Found myself doing unexpected things with it, mostly more subtle short step downward sweeps mixed in to my playing. It reall excels at this. Of course, the more traditional whammy sounds are there if thats your cup of tea. Killer octave down pedal as well!

I'm a fan of Digitech products

I have purchased the Ricochet, as I have found the Whammy V too big, even for my huge Rockboard Cinque 5.4 pedalboard.

Pros:

- This product is very clever, they managed to fit in a lot of useful functions into a much smaller pedal.

- The sound quality is also excellent.

- The build quality is top notch.

No cons for me, it does exactly what I bought it for.

I have dealt with Digitech customer care directly regarding a general enquiry and the company is very responsive, they went the extra mile to assist me.

Buy it until it's cheap and it's in production, as Digitech has the tendency of discontinuing pedals, which then become an immediate classic and can fetch higher than its new price on the used market.

Great and compact all-round pitch pedal

Had been using the Ricochet for more than half a year now, and it has proven itself to be simple, precise and versatile tool in my rig!

One thing to be aware of when using this as a constantly-on pitch shifter (e.g. to tune down or up), is that when pitching down, some of the high-end is lost (though this is to be expected with digital pitch shifting). But this can be compensated with EQ to some extent.

I also found that an Expression Pedal input would be very suiting for this pedal. While I understand that the whole point of this product is to be as compact as possible, optional Expression would bring the Ricochet to even greater heights!

Great pedal

Really cool and great sounding effect! Easy to use and takes up no space on the pedalboard.

In Love With This Pedal!!

Astonishing, Sturdy build!

Here is how it works:

first decide which direction you want to go, up or down, this can be done by the range switch.

When you decide your direction adjust the pitch knob to get your desired pitch , I play metal, for soloing purposes i found the range of pitches enough for me.

Then as you desire, you can adjust the ballistics, the shift knob to decide the rate of the incoming to be pitch shifted, the return knob to set the rate of incoming note to return to its normal place.

I found the momentary knob helpful, if i want to bypass the pedal I can just turn it off, and trigger the pedal when i press on footswitch.

it took me 10 minutes to figure out this pedal, so no complication.

totally recommended if you want to have whammy effect without having floating bridge.

the only thing i wished for is the range to has footswitch instead of regular switch, if you want to change the direction you have switch it by your hand, hard to do by foot.

Important: this pedal doesn't support battery, so make sure to have your 9V adapter.

digitech nailed it

great pedal, excellent sound.

I love this mixed mode. It sounds much better than many octave pedals

the only thing you should get used to - momentary switch. It's not like a normal whammy at all

Whammy that fits

Use it for standard whammy octave up tricks, and it sits perfectly with on a small pedalboard powered by a regular 9VDC power supply.

Tracking is exceptional, much better quality then say, in same type effects found in multieffcts units. The adjustable rise/fall time is really useful too.

Recommend this to anyone using whammy as an occasional effect on a small pedalboard without compromising sound quality.

Extend your range!

I bought this pedal in order to add some extra sounds to my 7-string Schecter guitar.

Mostly use it as drop pedal, it catches the 7th string quite good and makes it sound like 8th string.

The latency can be heard actually, but it is so small that you can ingore it.

What this pedal does really well is how it catches intervals. It is awesome!

The drawback I found is a lack of expression pedal input.

So, one should consider investing in this pedal if a compact pitch shifter needed.
