my first wah wah

i have played guitar for around 3 years now and i was always impressed by the wah wah sound so i wanted to try it myslef.

i bougth this wah pedal because it was small and i read the reviews and wasnt quite sure if i want to get it, but i just thought to my self " why not give it a try". so i did and my and my friends love it. and it looks so adorable.

so if you have a fairly small pedal board (or non at all like me) this pedal would be a really good choice for you.

Works just like the original :)

Great pedal board wah pedal

Has great sound and is not hindered by its smaller form factor. Only annoying thing is that the switches to change the style of sound are being a screw so not very easily accessible. Other than that, great pedal.

half the size, same quality

Just as good as it's bigger counterpart, sounds great, easy to use, and it's small size can make handling generally a lot easier, if your looking for a high quality wah this is not an option to overlook.

Does what it's expected to perfectly

Saves me space on my pedalboard and it's just as easy to control as its big brother, took me like 10 minutes to get used to it. The internal switch is a great feature, gives you more tonal options!

Great CryBaby in a small format

I was building a small pedal board and I needed a small wah to fit the board. I first bought the hotone soul press but after a month of use the pot was faulty so I returned it.

I then bought the CryBaby Mini Wah and it sounds and feels lot better. Obviously the small size makes the pedal a bit harder to use compared to a full size wah, but it's not a problem.

Other things I like is the flat base which makes using a velcro strip to attach to a pedal board. It has a 3 position voicing switch which is good, shame it's on the inside though. All in all it's the best mini wah out there.

Great sound, 3 wahs in one, small footprint

The small footprint doesn't affect playability at all because the pivot point is in the same place as the big ones, thay just "cut" the front part which is redundant.

Perfect sound, love the low and high setting, only miss a led, but that's nothing.

Huge flexible sound in a box!

25 years ago, I started with the CB095 version and then moved into the CAE version 10 years ago. Now to save space and being able to switch into different response types, I decided to test this little guy. I must say that my hopes were really bellow the bar. I use a very complex setup with different pre-amps and true-bypass switchable effect chains. This guy just fit as you would expect for a vintage or edgy stile. After testing the three coil options, I went for the Classic and decided to modify the different chains to respond accorded to input. I have to confess that at the beginning the small size tricked me many times into stepping and waving into different ways that did not worked out the typical chunk-nose... but, it was only a matter of understanding the new adaptation of your foot stepping on it. Tip: try not to balance the pedal with your heal, specially if you come from big wahs, but to use your foot’s arc. The true bypass kept the kick coming from different pickups (single, humbucker and over-wound humbucker), and the coil response was as you should expect from the original vintage pot master back in the funk days. Of course, this is a keeper and a must for lack of space... best choice ever!

Great pedal in small factor

Perfect for my needs, and doesn't take much space on the pedalboard.

Love it!

Maybe not for everybody, but here are the PROs of this little Wah I' ve found

1, it fits small pedalboards and gig bag pocket easily :-)

2, internal switch allows you to choose between 3 Wah types (you will love at least one of the 3, they are all very usable)

3, the pedal enclosure made from metal (as sturdy as big CB)

4, you can operate it with battery (even the Wah mechanism and PCB needs some space, you can operate it battery)

5, you can easily adjust the toughness of the Wah pedal with the screw

6, it' s lightweight (remember the weight of original CB?)

CONS

1, it feels somehow wackier than my heavy original CB from 70' s

2, hopefully will not need repairment in the future, since it's SMT technology inside

3, why is this more expensive than original CB?:-)

Under pedal part, sponges were wrongly putted, so I had to move to correct place. Otherwise, easy to use thanks to small size, and well-made.

Good sound and surprisingly comfortable

I bought this for my small, apartment-sized practice rig but was positively surprised by the good construction quality of the Mini Cry Baby. The sounds you get are comparable to the full sized Cry Baby but this particular pedal comes with an internal voicing switch, giving it a bit more flexibility. The switch requires the back cover to be removed however, so it's more of a long term (instead of live) setting change.

Regarding its size, it is quite comfortable and yields the whole frequency scoop when used correctly (something like the heel at the bottom end). I wear shoe size US 11/EUR 45 and have no problems with it.

Like the regular Cry Baby it sounds good with and without distortion and pairs well with other effects (True Bypass).

I would definitely recommend it for home/practice setups, but possibly also for playing live if you don't mind not having much control other than the modulation pedal itself. It is very sturdy and compared to its full-size counterpart, not very heavy.

Wolf in sheep's clothes!

A worthy wah-pedal, in spite of it's mini size. It sounds just a good as my other wah pedals (Vox 847, Dunlop JH-1, EHX Screamer). Classic wah sound. Small size needs some getting used to, but then it operates and handles just as easy as the big sized wah, but weighs much less! I put this on my small light weight board for that purpose.

Weird at first but Damn!

At first it looks and feels weird because of the size, I purchased this Mini wah because I used a Standard size CryBaby before and really satisfied with the functionality and sound. It's just a matter of getting used to the size on my foot. Sound quality is amazing especially with the 3 different sound settings that you can chose from. Over all I am very happy to have this on my Mini pedal board.

The same power as its big brother

This is my first wah pedal, I'm still trying to get used to it but I can get pretty good tones with it without doing too much. What else I can say, if you want the same power as its big brother but doesn't want to occup much space, this is the answer.

Finally Jim Dunlop heard our cries on making a small wah

As you know, wah and volume pedals are mostly the biggest and the heaviest pedals on our pedalboards. Don't get me wrong; I still love and use my other wah pedals that I have purchased through the years. But if you are playing in a cover band that travels frequently with commercial flights this pedal might be a lifesaver. This pedal is nearly as big as a Boss pedal. It is very lightweight and has a flat bottom that is very handy if you are using velcro tapes to fix it on your pedalboard. (Now I am using a 50 cm x 32 cm pedalboard that is loaded with 8 pedals plus this wah) It has true bypass output which fuzz users love and works great with almost any overdrive or distortion pedal. It is a nice option that you can switch between 3 modes that are available (Hi, Mid and Low). High mode is good with clean sounds but Vintage mid mode is great when using distortion. The only problem with this pedal is you have to open up its bottom to change modes. I think Jim Dunlop will fix it on new productions. Very good pedal, very Cry Baby :)

beast x 3

This mini CryBaby is a perfect toy! It does its big brother's job with ease, plus it's pretty handy in your pedal board.

When you came across this pedal, you know by now it allows you to "adjust" your sound in three different frequency ranges - perfect !!! The main (and perhaps only) downside is that the switch to set the frequency range is not accessible unless you unscrew the bottom plate.

Highly recommended.
