E-RM MIDIclock+ Reviews
Rock Steady Clock
Robust little unit from E-RM, all it does is send out a clock to two midi outputs, which can be multiples in the studio using Midi Thru on receiving equipment. I've used in the studio and live with no issues and everything synced and rock solid.
Good bits - does what it says and does it very well
Bad bits - no cv clock out sync, for €200 it's not a big ask
E-RM MIDIclock for Multi Keyboard set up.
If you are using a multi keyboard set up, the E-RM MIDIclock is an essential piece of kit. It only transmits a midi clock signal but no midi data except start, pause & resync. Just connect it to the midi inputs on your keyboards (use a midi splitter if you have more than two keyboards) and it will keep your arpeggiators, sequencers & drum machines in perfect time with no drifting.
It may not be a musical instrument, but it is well worth buying.
Highly recommended.
Solid clock unit
Great deal! Generates solid and reliable midi (or DIN) clock, sync your gear to this and you'll forget about any drifting issue and any sync hell you might encounter.
This small unit is not full of features, but it seems to me that it is the best clock in the price bucket. Tempo knob, start/stop button and reset button, along with 2 tempo set modes (synchronous or live and asynchronous where you need to press a button to apply the new tempo setting) - that's basically it. But all those are done very well.
One thing I'm missing here is a tap tempo function, to have a little bit more flexibility in a live setting.
Midiclock + - Now you can clock all you hardware TIGHT
ERM Midiclock+ is those kind of small pieces of gear you normally look aside and don't see much use in it for the first time.
Well this awesome ClockGenerator will make all you gear in sync and without any jitter at all. Plus if you have a modular system and analog gear you can clock them both using the Eurorack function on powering it on and have both worlds clock due to Midiclock + having 2 MIDI / DIN outs.
It's very easy to use, nothing special about it, a jog wheel to select your bpm rate and a start / stop plus Rewind button. As Midiclock+ can resume from the place you stopped.
The only thing I have to point out is that it should come with an AC Adapter for USB, as when I used it plugged into my laptop i had humming and noise on my mixer due to it. As soon as i Used an USB Power Adapter everything went OK.
If u have clock problems, don't hesitate this is a cool solution.
Perfect for what I needed
I bought this to keep my Moog synth in time with the click. We play to a click live and this little device allows you to sync effects to accurate BPM. Works like a charm.
Midiclock heaven sorts out the midi timeshift nightmare
Until I purchased this clever little device my plans of creating soundloops running alongside synth arpegios was just a nightmare despite having all my midi cables correctly connected and global settings made accordingly. My Mininova synth was drifting out whether connected to the Korg KP3+, which has a timing mind of it's own. or the Roland SP404sx which I find more reliable for shaking hands with other midi gear. So out of pure desperation I searched and found this little usb powered device which gave me a Eureka moment when connected and easily configured. Hey presto my arpegios are at last locked into place and stress levels are back down to normal. I power the device with one of those small white "Power Bank" portable usb rechargers which does an excellent job and disposes of the need to have a laptop or pc at hand.
Works like a charm
I bought the Midiclock+ for the resync feature, which works seamlessly, as just as described.
The manufacturer replied very quickly, and was really helpful when I made enquiries about the functionality, pre-purchase.
The device is well-built and the live/studio modes work really well.
After using for a week, my only improvement would be to have small arcade-style buttons instead of the small flush-fitted button on the unit. But that's a minor concern, really.
