Electro Harmonix Oceans 11 Reverb Reviews
In love
Everything I want in a reverb and more, packed neat and tight into this incredible little package.
Excellent varied Reverb
Great and versatile pedal, well built, excellent features and great sound/settings. No major complaints, permanent place on my board since purchase. Hold and expression functions are great additions.
A little fiddly to get to the secondary functions on the fly, and a shame you can't swap presets on it, but it's very useable and useful. Great pedal.
Wonderful spring reverb simulation
But - there is a slight hiss/hum present when the pedal is in the loop, even if it's off, no matter what power supply is used. I use it only in "spring" mode and the hiss can be removed by turning off the pedal, then changing the reverb mode with the knob (yes, even though it's off) and putting it, say, back on reverb, while the pedal is still off.
Doing this "really" turns it off and removes the hiss.
Just plain awesome.
So many options, bought it mainly for the dripping spring-verb. Ever since i bought it, it replaced my holy grail as main reverb pedal. I really like the tap-tempo for some reverbs and the chance to 'mod' some. It's just the swiss army knife of reverb pedals. Mainly intended for indie-artist but it's kinda just a jack of all trades. Crazy price range.
Pros :
-Dripping spring reverb that sounds qualitative.
-Plate sounds great.
-Reverse reverb for the shoegazers.
-tap-tempo and mod options.
-all reverbs sound atleast decent.
-Price. (Even after inflation)
Cons :
-Might be to much pedal for some.
Every Reverb You'll Ever Need
11 useful reverb types on tap, all highly configurable. The sound quality is terrific, just what you'd expect from EHX. Everything from super-realistic 'tank' type spring reverb to totally unrealistic polyphonic 'shimmer' effects. My own personal favourite, the effect I keep returning to time and again, is the 'Dyna' mode where the reverb responds to your playing.
If you're looking for a flexible, multi-purpose reverb at a steal of a price you really can't go wrong.
Good pedal
Pedal delivers good tones and is very easy to set up for signature sounds
Amazing pedal
A pedal that feels like a Swiss army knife to be honest. There's endless sound option, and the pedal it's so versatile.
For me personally, besides the classic reverb presets like plate, hall and spring, this pedal has an amazing tremolo. So underrated.
This is a lot of pedal for the money.
Can't recommend it enough
Overall good pedal
It has a lot of reverb types which I really love. It's great for ambient stuff but you can also get some classic reverb sounds (I really like the spring reverb). The secondary options are a bit confusing at first but definitely worth it when you get used to them. I also got some great sounds using other instruments like analog synthesizers. Great pedal!
One of the best reverbs
This is very flexible digital reverb, many settings different types of reverbs.
It's a good reverb with a lot of features. Small complaint for the power usage, I can't use this with my power supply because it needs more than 9V
Good sound, but not fully convinced
Sounds and features are good. This pedal has got plenty to offer. However, it needs bit too much power (150 mA) for such a small pedal. I prefer a better pedal with less options and less power usage.
Love it...
After a year its working perfectly. The amount of different sounds we can pull out of the Oceans 11 is superb. Would def buy it again!
Fantastic!
I had several reverb pedals and racks, but none of them was comparable to this one. It is just fantastic.
Great pedal
Extremely satisfied with the purchase. Excelent build quality and sound overall, whether you are going for classic reverb or modulated sounds.
Nice pedal
It`s a nice pedal, the shimmer is great, the tremolo is very nice, other reverbs are ok, nothing special to me
Great little powerful reverb
Eleven (11) types of reverb (many of which also have alternative modes) in a compact pedal.
The quality of the reverbs is very good, as is the general build quality.
The pedal has 4 potentiometers, but in reality, it is possible to access secondary "hidden" functions, as if it had 6 knobs.
The pedal requires 150mA to be powered (it is sold with a power supply) and has an input for a switch capable of activating infinite reverberation (which can also be activated with the integrated switch).
In this price range, a valid alternative could be the TC Electronics Hall of Fame 2 which is stereo. But the EHX Oceans 11 offers more possibilities for experimenting with reverbs.
Great sounding and versatile pedal
As the name says it has 11 different reverbs, 2 of them are combinations with other effects (delay and tremolo). The latter one I have used quite a lot. The spring reverb sounds really drippy, although doublestomping the footswitch to make a sound of a kicked sptring tank is quite fimmicky. The shimmer reverb sounds also very good, not too sharp, not too dull.
Best price/value reverb pedal
It does it all. Got 'regular' reverbs like plate, hall, spring, but also has the shimmer, tremolo, mod and poly ones (some with 2-3 different modes) that makes this pedal an ultimate machine. Really recommend to anyone looking for a multi tasking reverb pedal.
A toy ? Maybe, but an honestly good one!
This one has bad critics around me. "A toy for newbies" or so they say. Well I have been playing guitar for 40 years ans if it might sound true for many EHX products, I still find this Ocean 11 a really fun one, sometimes spectacular, and always enjoyable. And it is very good for the price tag (a quarter of the Strymon Big Sky's price)
I use this manly for shimmer and dripping spring reverb but find the other sound less usable with a clean guitar mainly because of some unnatural end tails. I sometimes use this with a second almost quiet hall or plate reverb after this one, to blur successfully some harshness in the sound.
They are also some unique types of reverb, the kind seldom found elsewhere and I must confess I still can't master the wealth of multi function controls without keeping the manual close.
Pretty good
Not quite as good sound as expected, but not terrible.
