Nirvana in a box

As per headline. It's instantly a recognisable tone. I like to use mine along with a big muff and boss trem. Creates huge almost watery distortions. Best used with other pedals I feel. I love how simple it is, as someone who likes to set and forget.

Nice chorus effect

Easy to use and sturdy build quality. Sounds great and a lot of fun to play around with

Very good chorus

I bought this effect after using a nano clone. Compared to it, the small clone sounds better, there is a depth switch. Of the cons: the metal case could be better, the power button is terrible.

The best chorus in sound, especially for nirvana

The best chorus for the price (actually very good)

Small Clone is a chorus pedal that just got that sound from the 90s' and sounds so cool overall. It is my favourite pedal to use.

Not only do you get the legendary sound of Kurt Cobain, but you also get a very great-sounding pedal. It's simple to use; it doesn't have many features, but it does have a depth setting that sounds full and cathcy.

If you are looking for a chorus effect at a reasonable price, this is the one. I'd certainly recommend it for buying and keeping for your gigs!

That 90's Band sound, if that is your chorus thing, great value for the money

Classic but not flawless

You'll get used to, but the switch is kinda' distracting the way it sounds, mechanically and in terms of sound.

The effect itself is very distinctive and sometime according the way you move the knob it can turn into a FLANGER! Or I am going deaf :-7

Anyways, a nice addition to my rig, the way the effect melts with your signal is for me, pro level, give it a try!

great!

I sold my Boss Super Chorus and bought this. I think this is not a diffuse and has a bit more character to it. Perfect for the Nirvana sound. "Come as you are".. It does make a ugly sound though sometimes when you push the ON switch with the amp on... Like a small "Bang".. Anyhow.,. It scared me the first time..

Buen pedal

what I expected

After all the things I saw and heard, this was what I expected. A simple chorus with good sound, used in many classic songs. only thing is that I wondered if the cheaper nano version wouldn't have been good enough already. I thought it would have been a little more solid. How Kurt Cobain used this so many times without breaking it... But nice pedal, really pleased

Legendary!

In short; this is a truly inspired product that has not changed in years because it is as near to perfect as a simple chorus pedal can be.

It is replacing a vintage MIJ boss pedal that until this arrived I had viewed as the definitive basic chorus pedal.

It has all the hallmarks of genius; one dial and one switch, with which one can achieve a surprising array of noises from classic to far out crazy. There is more variety than just the tones they are famous for.

It is well built and looks like it will stand the test of time and punishment.

Cons: well, it isnt well suited to barefoot or slipper wearing players and it does require thinking about foot position and careful aiming before stomping, more mental effort than a boss for example.

In conclusion, this is just a must have chorus pedal for just about everyone.

Not only for Nirvana

What happened to EHX? Nirvana fan club? This is usable chorus for different type of sound (blues, hard rock, classic rock, pop, jazz, metal, extreme metal) which I tried.

I've tested it on:

Gibson Les Paul Faded 2018

Fender Stratocater Deluxe

Marshall DSL40CR

Marshal MG10

Pros:

Great sound

Nice design

Strong box

Analog sound

3 command only - easy to handle and experimentation

Cons:

For God sake, don't put Nirvana everywhere. Yes, you can easily make Nirvana sound, but you can make manyu different sounds, so please stop advertize this effect with Nirvana. I opened package and found "your Nirvana@. I like Nirvana, I listen Nirvana almost every day, but I haven't buy Electro Harmonix Op-Amp Big Muff Pi Fuzz (valve based and great fuzz) only because it fits good for Nirvana only and similar bends. Think about it!

Perfect for Nirvana

Every fan of Nirvana should have a small clone!

Few features but kills the ones it has

This stomp box does one thing but it does it very well. Does what it's supposed to. I'm happy with it.

Great sound and well built

If you want the Nirvana chorus this is the one. I prefer this size for the EH pedals and wish they would re-issue the Small Stone in this size as well rather than the "mini" format.

A Classic

I’ve tried many Chorus pedals but I always return to the simple, one knob classic, small clone. Big, solid and looking the part on any board. If you want that distinct 80s sound without a lot of messing around.. This is it.

If you know what you want this effect is a great classic. Not very versatile but as I said "if you know what you want".

straight forward chorus pedal

the sound of the Small Clone is warm and catchy but REALLY TYPED - if you're not fond of its peculiar sound (and its "depth" feature), be sure to try other chorus pedals with more paramaters before making any decision.

I use this pedal paired with MXR's carbon copy delay to play psychedelic pop and jazzy grooves and it works like a charm

on both single coiled and HH microphones, imho.

although it lacks parameters, the scale of this chorus is sufficiently diverse and charming to explore its range entirely.

on the other hand, i really dig its big knob that can easilly be twisted with your foot while playing

Great sound

Perfect sound. A little to big as a board pedal but with a great sound.

One for the board

As a huge nirvana fan I've had my eye on this pedal for sometime.

I've been using a multi FX pedal to get a similar sound but nothing can replicate the warbly sound the Small Clone produces.

It doesn't offer much as far as manipulating the vibrato of the effect but its still one i'm gonna be using for a long time. Theres hours of fun to have with this pedal.

Heart Shaped Box never sounded so good :)

If youre looking for a chorus this is the one!!

Since I really like the sounds of some bands like nirvana and such, I got this pedal to try and mimic the sound and it just does the job really really well.

It works for distorted sounds as well as clean sounds, with an all around good modulation quality.

Its a robust pedal and can take a beating.

The only downside I would say is the fact that you only have one knob to control the modulation, but I guess you really only need the one knob to get a great sound!
