Epiphone J-200 EC Studio VS Reviews
The poorman's Gibson
The guitar it self has a good hand feel, the lacker on it is very smooth and playing with metal strings just give you that country vibe while playing.
So I have this guitar for a time now, it resonates very well because of the Jumbo body.
I like the guitar very much for the price and the quality
Best for fingerpicking
The sound is cool and feel very soft for fingerpicking.
value for money
This guitar is simply amazing and for this price.. It's simply a steal in my oppinion.
Initially disappointed with this guitar, was going to send it back. Action was way two high, both saddle and nut needed filing. Pickup was kinked & not seated properly so the saddle was too high on 1 side. Replaced the strings with elixir 80/20 10's as I had just re-started playing, still sounded very quite for a jumbo. tried 13's, much much better, not a Gibson but it is 10 times cheaper. Neck was fine, might need a small tweak with the bigger strings. Finish is excellent, nicest guitar I have ever seen, you would keep its simply for its looks. Sounds fab plugged in. for 419 euro's, you wont do much better.
Very nice looking guitar
I am in love at the first look with this guitar. Smooth finish and very nice workmanship. I was expecting a louder sound from this jumbo guitar, though it is loud enough to fill the room with its bright sound. Nice buy at this price range!
Wonderful looking guitar
I simply fell in love with this guitar after strumming my first chords on it, the construction, finish, playability and sound are on a par with a guitar costing significantly more, what a great axe I can't say it enough, it really sounds like a guitar double its price.
The action is lighter and lower than you'd expect from an acoustic, so while this is still a guitar that likes to be strummed, it's great for finger pickers as well.
The groover machine heads feel smooth as butter and stay in tune very well. The preamp system sounds great after you fiddle with the knobs for a while and find the "right" sound for yourself.
I love it and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a quality instrument at an affordable price.
great acoustic
feels good and it's loud enough when playing without using DI. great finish and ergonomy (considering body size).
Great guitar
Superb Jumbo guitar
Great sound and very comfortable to play despite its size
Classic !
These guitars deliver in spades ,visually, sound ,and features,
The woods selected for body are nicely grained and matched.
The fret board is super level .
Machine head's are as smooth as silk.
Preamp delivers a good range of tones if just a little under powered.
Sound quality is a good step up from many mid priced guitars, nice balanced bas quite pleasing trebles maybe just a hint of boxiness .verdict ! Great guitar but I personally prefer Harley Bentons CL king jumbo,it just edges the epiphone out of the running
Sound finish and overall quality. But the epiphone is still a great guitar with classic appeal.
Its a very good guitar but i hope the description on the guitar is what i really get. The description says its equipped with esonic pick up but when i got the guitar, it is equipped with fishman presys basic. On the box of the guitar itself, there is a label that says its with shadow esonic 2. Its very frustrating specially i ordered it online and i dont have any idea what the guitar really looks like in actual. Hope they can fix this issue
Good guitar
Well-made version of the Gibson pricier equivalent!
Pros: affordable yet decent sounding. Beautiful as hell!
Cons: it doesn't quite produce as much sound as you'd expect from a jumbo sized guitar.
Awesome sound for this price
I've had a Yamaha FG100 before this and I thought that sounds really nice as it had quite bright sound. This guitar was surely an improvement. It feels a lot better in terms of sound and build quality.
Pros:
Sturdy
Nice overall sound
Awesome design
Cons:
The strings are not that good and I will surely change them in the upcoming weeks.
Overall, this is a great guitar for this price. The solid top really makes a big difference and the rest of the build has a nice finish.
Even though it might have some factory defects (some glue sticking out on some parts) they are not really visible until you take a really close look.
This (in my opinion) is a truly beautiful guitar, both in looks and sound quality. It has the best range of a guitar I have ever used. It doesn't have a very low sound but it of course can be, but where it really shines is that kind of mid to high range sound. I think it hits the perfect sweet spot there. However it is not a very loud guitar acoustically and can sometimes seem just a little too big but if you don't mind that it's really just a great guitar for its price and I would definetly recommend it.
excellent product
excellent product, still for a jumbo it is not that loud.
Nice guitar...
... but mine came with 3 dents. So I was a little disapointed. It is not so loud, as other reviews mentioned, but it has a nice sound. Did not test other strings yet, so mabe that's the issue with low sound too...
Electric part is OK. Had to fix the magnet with some glue, because it was buzzing and also twist together cables inside, because they were to loose and hitting the body.
A very nice and good guitar after some fixes!
Perfect replica of the classic gibson series..Affordable, great full and loud sound, attractive look.. Couldn't be more pleased with that guitar considering the money spent for it
Good for the price.
I needed a relatively cheap electro-acoustic to play gigs with as my last one got damaged beyond repair. Acoustically, the guitar sounds fine. Nothing special. I would compare it's loudness and tone similar to a dreadnought rather than a jumbo guitar, as it seems to lack the low end of a jumbo.
The pickup selection is nice, along with the microphone'pickup in the body, there is also a magnetic pickup discreetly placed at the neck. Both pickups can be used on their own or blended together. While the body pickup sounds just fine, the magnetic pickup is very "tinny" and also seems to add a lot more output when engaged even the slightest amount. as a result I never use the magnetic pickup.
The addition of an built in tuner is nice though!
All in all the guitar is just ok sound wise. But it sure does look nice!
A great stage guitar
This is an electric guitar. It looks like an acoustic but it's acoustic sound is thin for a jumbo. It plays beautifully, is well made, looks great, stays in tune, everything I wanted. The idea behind this guitar, I believe, is to be used onstage where it's dual pickups can be blended for that fat jumbo sound I bought it for comes out. And it's a great bargain moneywise.
Great buy!
The price for this guitar is a steal and would make and guitars beginners to professional happy! This guita has a big sound with a lovely warmth too it. Great buy !
Love it
Well what can I say that hasn't already been said, I had to wait quite a while for the vintage sunburst to become available so I spend ages checking out reviews on this guitar and I must say Im glad I waited, It looks and sounds great and I just can't put it down! I would definitely recommend it, You will not be dissapointed!
