Simply the best out there

Over the years, 10-52 Cobalts have proved to be the best ones for my scenarios (Eb standard to drop C). What makes Ernie Ball stand out for me is their tone/feel in a "slightly worn" state – still very pleasant, still perfectly audible in a full mix. In my personal experience, the durability of Cobalt strings matches that of Paradigm/other models, and the exact choice is probably a matter of taste.

Pleasantly different

Ernie Ball strings are always great in my opinion. These are no exception. Very good definition with each note. Bit pricier than regular strings, but these are worth it if that is the sound you are going for.

a little over slinkies

I used all sorts of Slinkies long time, decided to try Cobalt. They stay in tune right away, feel a little softer on bends, and ring a little longer. Overall more treble I'd say. Difference is more about feel and stability of sound, especially on 15+ fret solos, notes are more clean\soft.

I'll use Cobalts for my lead guitar.

Clear sound with a smooth and buttery feeling

I won't be using any other strings: these ones strike the right balance between clear sound, ease of bending and sliding, all in all the best electric guitar strings I've ever fitted on my guitars.

The thick bottom gauge gives a very welcome extra oomph to your sound. Try them and you'll be hooked!

Beefy tone, perfect for shorter scales

I use these on a Squier Mustang which is a shortscale that came with 9's. it felt like spaghetti. Now my guitar plays great. The 3 bass strings allow me to strum powerful beefy power chords and the lighter treble strings still allow me to bend. I was really impressed by the tone of the cobalt vs nickel wound. I can really feel the difference. My guitar nearly sounds like an acoustic when unplugged, and I can feel the increased output when I use the amp or when I plug it in the DAW for recordings.

Great for drop tuning!

I've used these strings for years now on my guitars that I alternate between E standard and dropped D. They sound great and feel great. A bit different, not necessarily in a negative way, from your regular slinkies or D'addarios. Very smooth. Only con I have experienced so far is that I have to take really good care of them or they will start to feel old quite fast. Luckily I take good care of my strings, so these are great!

Perfect!

These strings are perfect for me. The heavy bottom allows for really chunky, thundering chords that don't get too sloppy when down-tuning while the slinky top is nice and bright without the strings being too light. Goes perfect with my BC Rich Assassin FX6.The strings last an age as well if I wipe off the guitar after I play it.

Ernie Ball Cobalt

It's a fantastic string set for intermediate play. The string looks strong and has a good quality. It works fine in all of the registers. These kind of strings are a little bit thicker than the well known factory strings. Thanks for that they have fatter and stronger sound too. In the bass the sound is heavy enough to play hard. Good metallic sound. I recognized it's really hard to find good strings in the middle, especially D or G strings. But they work perfectly there. I'm satisfied with the high notes too. They have bright and strong sonority. I thing these thicker strings is a little bit hard to play for beginners. I recommend it for intermediate players.

The COBALT series of Ernie Ball are THE ULTIMATE strings!! Its a special alloy which reacts magnetically better with guitar pickups. The tone is unlike any other string. So so so clear its incredible!! Every transient you play will be heard like night and day and you can say goodbye to muddyness. Love Love Love ... ill never go back to another string... unless Ernie Ball manages to 'invent' yet another alloy which sounds even better

The best strings on the market

Absolutely brilliant! They feel smooth under your fingers, they last longer than other strings (including regular ernie ball) and the sound is just great.

I run out of adjectives to describe these strings!

The only downside is the price
