Ernie Ball 2627 Beefy Slinky 5-stars Reviews
Superb quality quality
They are my number one choice for the last decades! Super quality and sound
Very good set of strings!
I like Beeefy Slinkies on my shorstcale Squier Mustang as I am somewhat heavy-handed. Perfect for my taste.
It's Ernie Ball strings
You can never go wrong with these.
Metal galore
I got these strings because l detune alot and heavier gauge strings what l prefer. These strings kick ass, delivering a killer tone and reliability.
A bit too heavy for me
I was trying to minimise the difference in going from acoustic to electric guitars, but the G is just too heavy at 22, so it's the Burly Slinky (18) for me, which I find ideal. I always use Ernie Balls for electric guitar, they sound good and last ages.
Excellent for Drop C
Sound great and provide excellent tension for Drop C. They stay bright for quite a while as well, and are very durable.
Awesome strings for standard to lower tunings
I mainly use these strings for E Standard, D Standard or Drop C Tuning, for which they are perfect. Nice sound and high quality.
Slinky that's beefy
It's all good on the slinky front. It's a decent string set that lasts well enough. Nothing that really blows your mind but there's barely anything to whine about. Sound is there, it's really up to you to choose the right gauge, I find these to be good for D standard tuning on short scale guitars, such as Les Paul's.
Can't complain and I won't.
Very good for drop tuning
Bought these, for drop tuning, and they are perfect for the job. Heavy, and stable at lower tunings, like drop C or drop B.
Great for drop tunings
These strings are great, the quality and sound is great like all ernie ball strings. I find that they are optimal for c and c sharp tunings but they are also great for d tuning aswell. I highly recommend these strings for anyone playing in drop tunings.
Unbeatable
As a lone tech in my own workshop I will fit whatever strings my customer wants. But if they ask me, It's usually Ernie Balls I recommend. The range is extensive and the quality, at the price point is fantastic. I've yet to have an EB unwind at the ball end or snap at the tuner when installing theses strings. Once they're stretched in, they hold their tune for ages.
Good for drop and down tunings.
Needed some thicker strings for downtuning to c# standard.
Sounds great, good tension. Very satisfied with the result.
The Ultimate Choice
This set of strigs is the best I've tried so far.
Clean sound and smooth for guitarist's fingers.
Totally value for money choice.
My go-to set of strings
Lately I've been finding myself ordering a pack of Beefy Slinkys with every guitar I get. They've become my go-to set of strings over the last couple of years. They're cheap, yet hold their own in the string world.
Granted, they're a little treble-heavy, but even over time as the strings stretch and your oils dampen the string a bit it becomes less of a problem, although at that point it's time to get new strings. However, that's just a minor nuisance that can be remedied through EQ.
The Beefy Slinkys are also versatile tuning-wise. I've had them in all kinds of tunings, from E standard to C# standard and drop B. Below C# standard they do start to get a little loose though, so I'd go with a set of 12s below that. It's tougher to do bends on the higher notes in E standard but it's a good workout for my fingers!
Overall, if you're looking for a good and cheap set of strings that aren't too tough to play but aren't too flimsy, the Ernie Ball Beefy Slinky is the way to go, in my opinion!
awesome for downtuning
tuned my guitars to drop B on these strings (25.5" scale) and the strings still have wicked tension on them!
I always use these strings since at least 10 years back, they never fail me. They also sometimes keep up so much time without breaking just because of my laziness of changing them.
Does the job
Works perfect for down tuning to drop C and even drop B.
I've tuned to drop A and while I'd consider it too "floppy", they do the job in a pinch.
Quite good
Quite good strings, but their original rich tone didn't last long
great strings!
i was used to other brands, however since i started tuning my guitar on C standard, i found these to be the perfect gauge strings for my requirements.
i really cant stop recommending them. they are also well-priced.
great product!
Great Strings
My Jaguar Squire wouldn't stay in tune, So I put these on and now its plays 100x better. Only con is the Low E strings is super Beefy, not really needed if your not doing alternative tuning IMO.
