My drummer loves these

While I don't personally use them, my drummer refuses to play on any other heads since he tried these.

They sound nice and even look the part!

I have been using this snare drum head for 6 months , 2 hour day practice and it feels and sounds like the first day.

I recommend this product.

Very special snare drum head.

This drum head is pretty special. It didn't convince me on wood shell drums. But after putting it on a Mapex Tomahawk (steel shell) and tensioning it pretty tied I found a sound very close to the Alex Van Halen (Jump, etc.) Snare sound.

Since it is not coated there is no wear of.

One of the best snare heads for hard hitters!

The overtone is well controlled and balanced. Bright and powerful sound. Hard hitters will love this one (specialy metal/rock players).

extremely durable and good sounding head

i got this one for training purpose cause it durable, but sound impressed me with my Ludwig BB417 and i use it for live gigs.

some damping need as usual.

Have been using Evans heads for a while and was never let down by their quality. Easy to tune, great tone and I feel the ring adds to the lifespan of the drumhead. Very versatile as I feel it works great with many styles of music, either it's being tuned high or low.

Overall a great choice to complement any snare drum.

Always preferred Evans over Remo for snare heads. This sounds great. Can be tuned high or low, and works with a variety of shell types

First Impressions

I swapped out the heads on my 8x14 snare, a day or two before a studio session, with one of these and the S14R50. Tuning was straight forward, the same number of turns on each lug, in the star pattern, brought it up to an impressively even pitch all around. During the session, the tuning altered slightly, which isn't a problem if you stay aware of it. I hadn't played on it before the session, so I don't think it had stabilised yet.

Great snare head

This is undoubtedly the best snare head I've ever tried.

Tuning is definitely easier and faster now (I'm using Uo Masshoff's technique), and the sound of the hea is great for Rock & Metal styles.

It also lasts quite a while.

Update after a few years: I have now moved away from this head, as it sounded too muffled for my taste. I'm currently using the HD head by Evans.

Snare drum head

This snare drum head is very strong.

I have been using it for about 3 month in a every day playing and the sound is as clean and powerfull as new.

It controls the overtones very well.

The Quality of this head is very good.

Crisp & clear

I hate using the coated snare skins because they ruin the cymbals with white marks.I got this to try it out as an alternative very happy with the quality.Sounds great nice & crisp best of all no white marks all over my cymbals!
