Evans 14" Genera Dry Coated Snare 5-stars Reviews
Bye bye harmonics!
A very useful head if you wish to reduce the harmonics and get a very clean sound. This is the second one I get and I'm very happy with it!
Perfect choice for the reasonable price!
Evan dry coated snare is definitely among the best products balancind price and quality you can find here.
very happy !
transformed the snare with new strings
Very good sounding both for wooden and metal snares and also very durable one!
Evans awesome as always
Was a little dubious initially, but great sound and has lasted well.
Great drum head
This drum head is perfect for a dry sounding snare. Got exactly what I wanted.
Quality and dry sound, as expected.
Perfect for my needs
Its dry but not as dry as i expected it to be (which is good). Tuning on my custom maple snare was really easy and fast, so far the best drumhead i've ever used.
Best head on market PERIOD
So, I put this head on my Starphonic Alluminium snare and I got sound I dreamed about. I tuned it very high. Sound is perfect combination between dark and clear. It has some kind of depth to it even when tuned high. When I smash rim shot, ussualy with high tuned heads you will feel that rimshot in your ears and head but with this head when I rimshot I can feel it in my chest like you can feel bass drum kick when your standing in front of one. I never thought some drumhead can behave like this in high tunning.
Best buy this year for sure!
14" Genera Dry
Great sound, great quality.
Great product
Exactly what I was looking for, the reviews helped me pick the best head for me.
Really one of the best
Sound, quality is the best. It's classy, and you tune it not so often, and it lives quite long (usually i change it when it looks not so white and not because of the bad sound)
Focused Sound
Very focused sound with warm low frequencies appropriate for low and hi tension tuning. The extra ring and the holes makes this head very responsible in overtones. Music styles: mostly funk, rnb, jazz.
Good
I tried this snare top on wooden and steel snare drums, I find out that for me it sounds better with wooden (Oak) snare drum. The sound is rich, perfect for recording sessions if you like short and penetrating sound. I use moon gel demfers to make sound softer when playing live.
Not much words are needed for this head.
Does the job impecably. A very dry sound.
Works wonders on my alluminum snare!
Top Great Product
My favorite. Killing sound on snare.
Not bad!
I have a pretty cheap aluminium snare and I apply this head to it. I use it live and for recording
Although the snare's cheap, the head surely did its trick. What I found with these heads was that they are very easy to tune. Took me just a few mins to tune it without using a tune-bot tuner and then boom i got the sound I wanted by just playing around with the tuning. I think it sounds amazing when the snare's tuned tightly with this head, and the is suitable for metal drummers
Evans didn't lie about this head. The head features a warm tone with focused sustain. My ears agree that the additional dry vents eliminate overtones and stray harmonics for a crisp, defined attack. Nice mid tone sound
No cons.
Great all purpose drum head.
Great sound, easy to tune and durable.
I love genera dry coated on my snare!
I bought this snare head to use on my main snare, since i've been using this exact same model for years now, and to be honest i love this head and i don't plan on changing soon. It has great sound, pretty fat and cracky, exactly what i'm looking for in a snare drum. I recomend it for everyone that is looking for a fat cracky snare sound and needs a cheap head!
Fantastic response and tone! Nice attack, too.
As the title states, this head is very responsive. You can really feel what you're playing, and it responds very well especially to ghost notes. Very nice durability considering it's a 1-ply head, and with a great attack and smack. Can't go wrong with this head for all-around purposes.
