I didn't sound well on my vintage TAMA Bell Brass snare. Choked it to much. Sounded great on my Mastercraft Seemless steel snare though. Takes out a lot of overtones.

This head is real quality but I dont like it tuned high..I switched to 1ply heads.

Great Head For Heavy Hitters

Whatever Evans use on their coated headed it doesn't half last a long time.

This is a great head that really is 'Super Tough'. I like how it still has some nice overtones (that can be muffled of course with tape/Moon Gel/Buzzkill) but I like having the option and also a head that's a bit thicker that doesn't sound thick and flat that can also be tuned fairly high and get a nice ring too.

I do mix between this and Remo's Controlled X head quite a bit. Depends on the snare and musical situation really.

If you want a good solid head that with last on your kit at home and take a good hitting and retuning every so often this will hold up nicely.
