Fender 7250M Reviews
Bright clear sounding strings
I have never used fender bass strings before but they were a euro cheaper than my usual so I said i would try them... there honstly amazing feel lovely to play lasting well and they sound AMAZING! Would defintly say try them out!
Perfect
Clear and a good balance of cost vs long lasting and giving a good sound
Possibly one of the best in the price range
I use these string on my jazz bass and man, they just last forever. I play bass about 10 hours a week and they barely show signs of being used.
They are my absolute number 1 pick for bass strings, especially when considering the price.
Does what it says on the tin...
Got these for my beloved, ancient and worthless Encore Coaster, and holy **** they have really brought it to life. Big round sound as you would expect from Fender strings, perhaps even a bit too bouncy, but not complaining. Great brand, great strings - ideal for P/Jazz basses.
Great bass strings for the allround player
Fair price and durability. I use those for blues, rock and some funky tones.
Ok cheap string but not my favourite
I got these strings for a P-bass. They are very similar to D'Addario XLs (in fact they're manufactured by D'Addario for Fender) but with a bit more powerful low mids than the XLs. Which makes all the difference for me. I absoutely detest XLs but I kinda like these Fender 7250s once they're broken in. I don't particularly like their sound out of the box though. Like D'Addarios they sound very clanky. It's not that I don't like bright strings, it's just that these are bright in all the wrong places. Clank rather than crisp.
Once they're broken in (some would probably say dead...) I kinda like them though. They develop this "spongy" sound that I simply don't get with any other strings.
Definitely not my favourites (I prefer various types from Pyramid, TI and Rotosound) but their broken in sound offers something I enjoy on a P-bass.
They last reasonably long. Not the best, not the worst. Pretty much average in that regard. Which is ok with me as I prefer them kinda dead.
They're very cheap and pretty good strings on a budget. Certainly a lot better than certain ultra cheap "in house" brands I've tried.
These strings are also the stock strings on every Fender bass from Squier to Custom Shop so for a lot of people this is how an electric bass is supposed to sound. If you're one of those people these strings are of course an excellent choice. But for anyone willing to experiment: In my opinion there are far better bass strings out there.
Not my taste
I placed them on a old Vantage bass and i really did not like the sound of the string acoustic and electric. They were simply too ?eel? and too much treble for me, i think they would suit better on a jazzbass or so because i think the sound of the string is a bit similar to the sound of a j-bass. In overal they feel alright and they dont have any sharp edges and didn?t stretch a lot.
Pros:
Well lasting
Good quality
Doesnt stretch too much, results are that they wont get dirty in the core
Cons:
Sound
Good strings
Good strings, but they do not bring out the timbre as well as tomastik of DR. But good strings.
great strings, they stay in tune longer than the ones i was using before.
Great Fender quality
Have a Fender USA Jazz bass and these are my strings of choice, great sound and very smooth action.
Use these all the time and last for months without going out of tune once bedded in.
Fender 7250M Strings
Surprisingly good. I bought these strings as a secondary option for my p-bass that was mainly being used at home. When my jazz bass shorted out i had to use the p-bass and couldn't belive the tone i got on the gig. Once these strings are played in and are in the 'sweet spot' they sounded great! They have a lovely feel and are not too coarse as some other cheaper stings can be. they stayed on my bass for 6 months and i got about 25-30 gigs out of them. Highly recommended.
As cheap replacement - strings are ok
Original Fender bass - original strings. That was the idea. But the sound does not like me. Dull and unclear. But after all the strings are individually wrapped. I prefer to take back the more expensive DR Low Rider ... As cheap replacement strings are ok. The strings are quickly dull and lose their brilliance.
the bas(s)ics
These are the strings Fender basses come with, and they do sound good. Also on my Spector ns20004. (Tried the Hartke strings for 5 minutes to be cheap. dull, meh. Fender way more sturdy spirit)
The Spector (as does a Warwick) needs new bright strings, so i have to change them every few weeks. Fenders are much cheaper as DR's and have a very good tone and character of their own.
On the Jazzbass they last a lot longer.... nature of the beast.
Nice tone
These strings are cheap and cheerful. Nice tone and easy string. One issue I have is the size of the nut retainers, they are slightly too big for the bridge/tailpiece hooks. Other than that, perfect!
I bought a Fender Roger Waters Signature Bass about one year ago and love these strings that came stock with the bass. I practice 5-6 hours per week and they still sound great with more life left than I could have imagined at this point.
Good allround strings
Tension is medium. They feeld very good to my hands, not to silky not to rough. Very balanced sound thats nice and transparent. Given the price they are really great! Durability is like most nickel-plated strings. They have the d'addario style colored ball ends to identify because they come in a sealed plastic bag. One could be guessing they are made by daddario now ;-)
Great allround strings
I play these strings on my jazz and P-Bass and I am still convinced by the sound and quality. They offer a very balanced sound for allround purposes. Regarding the low price, the good durability, they are my first choice.
