Fender Champion 40 5-stars Reviews
Great amp for home and small gigs
It is a great sounding amp. I use it at home for practice, you have a lot of sounds, some does not sound good, but most of them are really great. I use it for band practice as well, it is very loud
Good beginner amp
Good fender sound, would have liked to have some memory storage for settings but still a great amp for room and gig playing.
Pretty solid amp
The sound is really good and the different features are great. It gives you a good amount of options with really good sounds and all for a fair price.
Best amp for 200.
A really good amp. Amazing sound and quality and easy to use. You can also play loud if you want to. I wont need to buy another amp in a very long while!
10/10 (soon had the amp a year)
Im perfectly happy with Fender Champion 40 amp in my home studio. Love the super clean sound of it and the reverb FX style - those who in love with 60s sound should love this amp :D
- super clean sound, what i expect from an amp
- could be very loud - i use at minimum at home
- solid build/construction and sexy look
I recently ordered a Fender pedal to switch between channels. Let's see, how it will work together!
Great value for money
If you are looking for a cheap amp for practicing, rehearsing or even small gigs, look no further!
Very good
For a low budget amplifier, this is very good, i recommend it! You can also use it for concerts in small locals like bars, restaurants etc. This Champion 40 can be loud enough. Again it's very good, especially for a beginner-intermediate player, even for an advanced one.
Great amp
Amazing beginner and professional amp, good for home use and also for band rehearsal. Nice clean sound, and couple of quality distortion sounds. Also has very nice effect options, if you just want to explore and learn something about guitar effects before you buy some pedals. I would recommend this.
Great amp for the price range
Using for practice home and with folk.
This amp has great clean sound, and very decent overdrive, vib and reverb effects.
Includes an aux-in so one can easily plug into a phone/pc and play with a backing track.
Clean channel is crisp enough, and clear - includes a treble and bass control, so there's flexibility in altering the tone to one's contempt. Can range from crisp clear, to fat and bluesy without much effort.
Works amazing when paired with something like BluesBreaker pedal.
Gets loud enough to cover a band in practice/small venue.
Definitely recommend if searching for great cleans and/or blues sound.
Pros:
- Amazing clean channel
- Good reverb, vibrato and overdrive(particularly metal and brit rock voice)
- 40W output - gets loud enough to cover practice band or small venue
- Aux in for backing track play - simple and just works
- Light enough to not bee too much of a burden
- Great range of tones
Cons:
- Outside of the effects mentioned in ^^, the rest are meh
- Aux-in volume control MUST be done from the playback device - amp has no control over that - BE WARNED - if you blast your phone full volume through aux, its deafening - lower volume first before plugging in. Amp vol knob will have NO effect on aux in.
- No possibility of connecting to PC and adding new effects
pretty good
Honestly, for its price it is not just decent, but great. Moreover, if you are a beginner this is perfect, because there are not a lot of buttons unneeded, so making your setup should not be hard. However, if you are pro, you should consider saving up more money and buying something with more features, unless you already have a full pedalboard.
pros;
- really easy to use
- 2 channels
- it has a tap button for the FX (effects) so that you can change the effect the way you want to
- sound great, I don't see any problem
- for 40W its volume is too big, I mean at first I thought it's gonna be a quiet amp, and that's why I was looking at a 100W one, but it shocked me to see that it has such a big volume and resonance for such a little amp
cons;
- it has some effects, but they are not great, so you should still look at some pedals (nevertheless, for beginners it's still pretty great)
... and that's it. Frankly, I cannot find too many cons for this amp.
Per overall, it is a great amp, for beginners, and for pro, as long as you have a pedalboard.
Really Good Amp
I was in doubt to buy this one or the Mustang (also had a look on other brands like Blackstar and Boss Katana). Its clean sound is really good and the effects on the pedal are very acceptable.
If you are looking for an amp to start with (or even if you're intermediate level and don't want to spend a lot in a fuse amp) this is a very good choice.
No regrets at all.
Specially the delay is very good, and if you buy the pedal (comes separate) then it's REALLY usefull.
Super good value for home and gig - advanced and beginners
I am using this combo with my 60s strat.
PROs:
First of all - the clean sound is fenders strength, also in this one! The build in effects are very nice and give you a broad range to start off if you do not have pedals. I am using it at home, for gigs and rehearsals. Everywhere it performed very well. The size is handy, it is light and the price is a dream for what you get. I first wanted to buy a Blackstar, Mustang or Boss modelling combo but this convinced me more. It sounds more real I think and with some pedals there is nearly no limit.
Especially for beginners I would say: BUY this. You can also plug in your phone via AUX and do playalongs also using headphones.
CONs:
I am only missing a very clean reverb (but I am being very pick here so dont mind)
Summary:
You cant do no wrong buying this I would say. Love it! :)
great amp for the price
Really versatile amp. Clean channel is crisp and warm for jazz. The voicing channel has a lot of flexibility between the different pre-sets, and the gain knob, giving a huge range of sounds and tones. FX are really good and accurate too.
Very portable and light. Loud enough for a small session. Probably wouldn't play over a heavy drummer, or a larger space, but have used it mic'd up, and it's perfect.
Its just perfect! I bilieve that you cant get better for that money
Fender Champion 40
Great Seller !!! Perfect !!! Many Thanks !!! Highly recommended !!!
Great little combo.
This is an excellent, versatile little amplifier with a characteristic fender clean channel and good variety of amp models built into the drive channel. If you prefer being able to dial in your own choice of drive or effects, rather than have pre-programmed presets, then this is well worth considering. Light weight but feels solid and well worth using with fs super champ footswitch. Effects are reasonable and straight forward to use. An all round good experience for a sensible priced solid state amplifier.
Very good for the price
Good sounding, light-weight amp that I can transport buckled into the passenger seat of my car. Loud enough for jamming with a relaxed drummer. The only thing I miss is amp sims in channel 1. I use this mostly with my Ibanez AS73 or MIA Strat and can stay very clean, but loud enough to be heard.
Can't say much about the FX. I only use a small amount of reverb.
