Fender Player Ser Jaguar Bass PFCapri Reviews
Exactly what you'd expect from a Mexican Fender
The Instrument is well made and good looking with the authentic P+J pickup configuration. It matches exactly it's price. You get what you pay for.
Of course there are some frets sticking out a bit, which you notice when constantly sliding on the lower strings, and some of the neck is a bit out of tune, but nothing a good guitar-luthier couldn't handle.
The new Sao Paolo fretboard is a bit lighter to the touch than olf rosewood, but still higly playable and suitable, if you liked rosewood.
My main istrument is a MM Stingray V, which I use for live performances and gigs. This Fender I use it mainly as a studio instrument, for which it's well suited. You have a ton of different sound options with it's P+J configuration and it fits recordings better than the Stingray in my opinion. That's why I bought it.
Conclusion
It doesn't compete with the 3k+ guitars and it doesn't have to. It does it's job well for the price point. I do suggest you take it straight to a luthier for a proper setup, in which case it's even better. No regrets whatsover.
