Harley Benton Coated Phosphor 011 Anti Rust Reviews
Not worth the money
You may wonder why spend 15 EUR on Elixir if you can have the same for 5 EUR made by HB? Because it's better to invest 15 EUR that to waste 5 EUR. The string had zome new-string-zing, but at the very beginnig I've noticed that the guitar sounds less live and vibrant in the midrange. After the zing weared out through one day of playing, the guitar was dead and I've immediately changed to new set of Elixirs and immediately was sure I was right. Beside, the surface of HB is harsh, end Elixirs are smooth. Some people like it harsh, so maybe it's for you then.
Coted strings at reasonable price...at last
95 per cent as good as bigger brands, without the extortionate price. A win/win for acoustic players everywhere
A+ Set of Acoustic Strings!
Perfect set of strings comparable to other much more expensive brands! Sure a set of Elixirs will sound better, but you'll buy multiple packs of these for the same price! If you keep your acoustic guitar in a case and use string cleaner before & after playing then these strings will last you months!
Excellent sound and feel.not so antirust in the long run
The strings sound very good fresh after a long time.very good quality packaging. After a long time of inactivity I saw that some of the strings where rusted but they still sound good.my room has humidity so I guess they could not handle it.I have my guitar hanged on the wall also not inside a case.I highly recommend though.very good quality overall for a very reasonable price.
Very Impressed
I honestly thought these strings weren't going to feel as nice as other name brands coated strings, But they are great! Very Impressed!!
Decent for the money
I rather use a more expensive strings to be sincere but this are good for practice
Nice set of strings!
Been using Elixir for my acoustics for years and these seem to be equaly good!
They've been on the guitar for awhile, still sound good and show no signs of rust.
Will buy again.
Bang for the bucks
Simple, clear sound, flexible in the feel... Just what I said: Bang for your bucks!
Strings for Steel String Guitar
For this price, very good stings. Soft and laud... Perfect for amateurs
Good strings, good price
They keep the brightness for quite some time, and the price is great.
recommended.
Perfect
Don't see why some are down on these for not having a good sound. They sound spot on for me, had them on for three weeks and no sign of degrading as yet (play for about 45 minutes every other day)
Maybe if your a pro you would want the top of the range but for the rest of us mere mortals i cant see why you would buy anything else... i've ordered some more.
Bright sound, long life,
Value for money 100%
really good strings!
really happy with the strings, they sound good and are better then the Martins I was using
They last
Cheap strings with a coating is exactly what I needed: I don't use my acoustic guitar much and don't want to change my strings every time I play it. These seem to hold up well (half a year and counting)! Though I cannot compare easily with other sets of strings, the sound is good, and has not deteriorated (much) yet over time.
Edit: I became dissatisfied with the sound of my guitar. I thought it was the guitar at first, but decided to give it a shot and replace the strings with Elixir Nanoweb Light Phosphor Bronze. They are about three times the price but sound much, much better, so if you have the money, I'd recommend buying a good set of strings, instead.
Seem to last forever.
I bought 3 sets but still am using the first one for more than 18 months about 4 times half an hour per week. There is maybe a bit of loss of brillance but I do not care: the feel is till almost as new.
Classic !
I have these fitted to all our acoustics, and my wife and I find the tone and feel of these to be excellent. Coated strings at this price spot on .
really great for the price
They play really great. I use them for Eb personally and the tension is perfect for me. The strings are individualy packed which comes with a lot of plastic which is a bit annoying. Overall great strings, more worth the money than the expensive brands
Good Quality for working guitar
Ok so you could indeed go for the "well know" brand of coated strings and certainly I have done so for many years.. but I decided to try out the HB ones as a throw away project to see if they could work... well, well, pleasantly surprised... If like me you want to have the new string sound last for a decent length of time I think you will find that these do the job nicely. Good bang for the buck no doubt.
Now my favorite strings
I have a mahogany parlour guitar and have tried at least 8 different brands of string without complete satisfaction because of the excessive volume and shrillness of the trebles. Then I tried these. They were balanced and screech-free from day one, so I went out and ordered 3 more sets straight away. I am planning to stick with these for the long term.
Cheap.
Those Harley Benton Coated Strings are cheap. And cheap for a reason. They are bad.
Well, the blank strings are bad, the wound strings are actually semi-decent. But all of that doesn't count when the blank strings are bad.
I had the e-string snap while tuning and it snapped at Bb, so 5 semitones below tuning. The string snapped at the bridge end. Now, I have ordered a few sets to fill up order volume to save on shipping, so I will possibly update this review if the problem goes away, but so far ... no. Just no.
