Harley Benton CPT-20 2-stars Reviews
Good but,,
Product seems to have a very bad buzz/hum.. like a bad earth. Tried everything without opening the unit itself to find a solution but gave up in the end..
It's OK for home use or practice but not for live situations as the noise is constant
Not really True Bypass
It's a very simple unit, one butten for on/off and a screen and some LEDs for tuning. The tuning (what it's designed for) is okay. More expensive units are probably more precise, but for home use it suffices.
Pro's:
The unit is cheap, small and easy to use. The screen is nice and big and tuning it this way is good to do. Besides it looks quite fresh.
Cons:
The red LEDs are so bright you can't look at the unit without eye dameage. I had to tape them off to actually use the unit. Who designed this??
But the biggest issue: The unit distorts the sound in bypass mode! When playing a bit hard on my single coil guitar it distorts. I can imagine this being a far worse problem on humbucker or active guitars. Therefore I'll be putting it behind a true bypass splitter I still have lying around and would not recommend this unit for whoever wants to use it on a serious pedalboard.
Worked great until volume trouble
This tuner worked well until all of a sudden the signal passing through it (when the pedal is turned off) comes through at half volume... quite annoying. The tuner function still works, but what's the point of a well tuned, really quiet guitar?
Not the best
I bought this on a whim as it isn't very expensive and I wanted a smaller tuning pedal for a more compact pedalboard however it doesn't track bass guitars very well and it caused me quite a bit of bother on stage when i was tuning between songs telling me that my D string was and A and that it was flat instead of it actually being sharp.
The build quality however is very good and it works very well with my guitar.
