Harley Benton CPT-20 4-stars Reviews
Cheap and Cheerful
For the price of the pedal it performs very well and has a true bypass, very impressed
Good enough for such a cheap price!
The button is not very smooth. Pressing from a wrong angle may not switch on the tuner sometimes. It’s respond time is a bit slow, it shows changes around 1 second after I pluck a string.
It is a super accurate tuner though.
Very good!
Sturdy footswitch, accurate tuning and feels very well built. Absolutely can’t complain especially for the price! One star deducted due to the brightness of the indicator light literally burning out my retinas, but that was solved with a couple layers of masking tape!
Great price-qualiity
Great bypass feature, great built quality, I would however like to see a power cable included.
good enough
I use it to tune modular oscillators , it works fine but sometimes it fails to identify the key on lower frequencies, but that ok, after all, its not designed for this purpose. Too bad it doesn't run on batteries.
It's Still Working!
I've had a few cheap pedal tuners in my time. Usually they pack up within a few months, but this one has lasted a long while (probably around 3 years at this point). Sure it doesn't look the nicest, but it does the job, and is pretty durable. Would recommend!
For the money it's fine
Good basic tuner, which for the money does a good job. If you are looking for something simple and at your foot, this is a good place to start.
Simple tuner
Good basic tuner, could be improved with battery option.
great budget value
As always from a harley benton product: great budget value.
pro: cheap, small footprint, does the job.
con: the leds are way too bright.
I don't know if it sucks tone or generates noise. I don't run it through my signal chain, but through a seperate tuner jack from my volume pedal.
Keeping my guitars in tune.
A very simple and cheap tuner does the job very well
Decent budget option
Good:-
This is a cheap and cheerful A440Hz [not adjustable] tuner with proper bypass.
Nice and quick to react, and makes it clear when a string's in tune.
Copes with Drop A on guitar, and B on a 5 string bass if it's first in chain, and happier with bridge pickup signals.
You know when it's on as the indicators can be seen from the ISS. It's also got a positive footswitch.
Tiny footprint on a board.
Meh:-
Clearly made in the same factory as EastRock, Donner and others, as it's identical, down to the magnetic flappy box. It also has exactly the same flaw, a loose jack socket. The hole in the case has been cut slightly oversized, so the socket is loose, but the jack itself is a good fit. Mine's in a pedalboard, so accidental disconnection isn't a worry.
Only powered by the socket [due to it's nano size].
No way to adjust frequency from A440HZ.
TLDR:-
Cheap, cheerful, fast but built to a price. Worth that price.
Great tuner. Very bright and easy to see. Works well with no complaints.
You get what you pay
It is a good product, for the price.
PROs:
- very clear screen, green coloring helps a lot
- thin and feels durable
CONs:
- lights are veeery bright (like very)
- noisy click on switch
- input & output jacks offer some "resistance" when plugging and unplugging
It tunes
It tunes but I don?t think it is very precise. Seems like it will hold up well enough. Good enough for most.
Fine tuner pedal
Perfect budget tuner pedal: it tunes; intuitive and easy to use (after all, there's just one pedal, and a two-colour code); it's very small (so it can fit any pedal board); it looks fragile, but it hasn't broken or suffered damaged due to stepping on it. The "click" on it is not smooth, so it might be disturbing. Since it is true bypass, it kills the sound when activated, so it can be used as a "noise-kill" and eliminate the buzzing and hissing when not playing. I haven't used any other pedal tuner, so I cannot compare.
Good for its price
An excellent step from clip-on tuning to a pedal.
Well built, small and convenient. Doesn't have a battery which is in my case a plus because I rarely use a pedal without a power adapter.
A bit not so responsive as some of the more expensive tuner pedals. Definitely sufficient for the practice room and a live show if you don't have to tune after each song. Would recommend.
Does the Job
I was in need of a tuner; didn't want to spend big on a big name tuner, and found this one. The display is good but not that good, if you have difficulty seeing things that are on the floor. The other thing is that it does not like tuning the 6th string; its' as if it cannot read the lower string so have to resort to the 12th fret harmonic. Otherwise, great for the price.
Nice temporary
it's what you can expect from a tuner in this price range. It does the job but no extra's. It's not bad but like it's good for a temporary sollution or back up.
Ok
Most of time works well, but there are moments when tuner don?t know what to do. Great price
great quality product!
this tuner is amazing for the price. it's really easy to use and does the job perfectly.
This Harley Benton CPT-20 is an amazingly good pedal. It's nice and small so it fits neatly on every pedalboard.
This tuner is really easy to use: just plug in a 9V adapter and your guitar, push the button and tune your guitar with ease.
The only downside I experience with mine is that whenever the lights switch sides (from too flat to right or to too sharp) they make some noise on my amp, but only very quietly (not as loud as touching your jack cable when it's not plugged in to your guitar)
Overall I couldn't be more happy with this tuning pedal. I would definitly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable way to tune their guitar.
