Harley Benton D-120CE NT 5-stars Reviews
Great bang for the buck
Increadibly good looking and great sounding guitar for the price.
You cannot go wrong with this one.
Just perfect for this price
It was the cheapest proper acoustic guitar that i could find and i was sceptical about the quality(because of the price) but it's really, really good. The sound of an acoustic is a matter of taste but it certainly doesn't sound "cheap", and the playability is really good(which should be your main concern if this is your first guitar, if you get a bad quality guitar, you will hate it and quit playing all together). Overall, this is a nice guitar with a really nice price tag.
Gave it 5 stars because of what you get for the money!
I bought this for my grandson. I lowered the nut slots, adjusted the truss rod and put a nice set of strings on it. Although it was not bad out of the box. It later developed a little fret sprout (we live in a very dry climate). The fret sprout was easily remedied with a sanding sponge from the local hardware store ($2.50). If I remember correctly I only paid $64 at the time plus shipping. This is actually a very nice sounding and playing guitar. My grandson is very happy with it ,and is progressing very nicely on his playing, songwriting and production skills.
Amazing
I use this product to record at home ,
and I recommend it, excellent value for money, the sound is bright, the wood is good, the neck is quite soft, in short, a really nice acoustic guitar. Obviously I also recommend using it, in an amplified way, excellent sounds, well structured equalizer and the sounds are balanced.
Beautiful guitar! As soon as I saw it, I realized that it sounded the same as it looked. And I wasn't wrong. The only thing that was a little frustrating was a few small moments. First: a bit of varnish cracked to the left and right of the bridge. But this can only be seen from a certain angle, so it's not scary. Secondly: the pickup did not work, the wire from the jack input came off. I wrote to support, and they responded quickly. They wanted to offer to replace the guitar, but refused. (Since I live in Russia, in Kamchatka) I fixed it on my own. Soldered and everything worked. In general, these are small things. It sounds very good, there are no problems during the game. I am very happy with the purchase!
Very nice
Best quality for the price
I received this guitar today and I am very satisfied. She is divine!
The workmanship is very neat. Frets do not scratch, although I received it in the winter. The tuners keep the tune well, rotate well and do not play. The edging is very neat. The guitar is evenly varnished and looks very beautiful in life.
The pickup works great and is very easy to use.
The guitar came sharp, with a comfortable neck-to-string spacing and a straight neck. I tested the anchor and it works as it should.
I don't know what else to say. Buy this guitar and make sure it is a very good deal.
I love this Guitar
Look for the price you have to buy this guitar!!! It has a really nice Tone.
Good value for money
This guitar offers good value for money. For this price, off course you cannot expect the best finish and quality. But overall, for a beginner this guitar is an excellent choice. I recommend it.
Great value. Punches above it's weight
I'm a purely amateur player of about 45 years. I have a small collection of budget fretted instruments: Squire Strat, Ibanez nylon string, no-name eastern european Mandola, decent, but cheaper range David Freshwater bouzouki, cheap Portuguese Guitarra, and, my main workhorse, 40 year old Eko ranger 6 steel string.
I've been looking for a second steel string, preferably with pick up, as I mainly use the Eko in DADGAD, and am too lazy to keep retuning when I want to go back to standard. Sadly, my skill level (and finances) don't really justify the purchase of a Martin D28 (Father Christmas, I've been a good boy). So in reading this review, bear in mind I'm not making any comparisons with high quality instruments, as I've never played any.
OK, so out of the box. All looks good and clean. No marks, dints or scratches. No issue with sharp edges on frets, as some other reviewers have reported, although some of the higher frets more apparent than lower ones, but nothing that affects playability. Guitar body is quite light compared to my Eko.
I'm used to a wide neck and very low action. The action is slightly higher than my Eko, but nothing that causes me problems. I know other reviewers have said the action is too high out of the box, but I didn't find that. There is the occasional hint on fret buzz, especially playing finger style, but that may be down to my poor technique - I do tend to pull the strings up John Martyn style. Again, nothing too much of a problem.
The intonation is excellent pretty much all the way down the fretboard, being quite true as checked by a chromatic tuner. The tuners seem good and it stays in tune quite well.
The neck is slightly narrower than I'm used to, but nothing that I haven't been able to adjust to quite quickly.
The tone is nice and bright using included strings. I've not changed these yet, but they're still ok after four weeks.
The pick up system works well through the clean channels on my Blackstar ID core 10, but I've nothing to compare this to, so others may be more critical.
OK, so I bought this as a second guitar, but I find the playability and tone is so good, its become my first choice - my Eko needs a good clean up and a bit of a rest, so this works well.
In summary, I think this is an excellent guitar for the price. It would be great for a beginner or as a back up. As I said, I can't make any comparisons with high end guitars, so others may be more critical than me. But having said this, I'm delighted with my purchase, and would recommend to anyone looking for a guitar at this sort of price level.
Nice sound
Nice sound and finishing.
Instrument with a rich sound.
I play jams sometimes. Went to one of those recently. Big immense. People loved how it sounded. I don't have anything critique to say about it. However I did a setup - streamlined truss, installed better strings and lowered the action. But every musician has its own style. Those are just the necessary adjustment. I consider the guitar for such a price is a real steal.
huge sound at low price
its already the 6 one that i buy for my students
this harley benton can kep up with a lot of fenders acoustics even put them to shame
if you are starting, this is the one you need
pros - it got a pickup for that price, what a dream guitar and cheap
cons - could have tuner intergrated
An excellent guitar for this price. I absolutely recommend it. Buy it for sure.
Probably the best option for the money
The sound is really good for the money.I have been playing for many years and I didn't think you could actually get a descent piece of acoustic ,not even electric acoustic, guitar.
Sounds very good for the price. Loud full sound. I didn't play a lot with the EQ but it works fine.
1-way street for that amount of money.
Simply unbeatable
I seriously doubt that you can find a guitar on the market in this price range better than this guitar. It is just amazing to me how can such instrument be so affordable. I give it 5/5 all around, I am super pleased and happy with the purchase and yould seriously reccomend it to anybody, from beginers to intermediate players. Go get one!
Best budget guitar
You just can't go wrong with this purchase. Can't believe the price. It sounds better than some more expensive ones.
I am just a begginer and have tried a few cheap guitars that are not very good this is the exact opposite really suits me and looks and plays like a much more expensive guitar love it
A fantastic acoustic guitar
Wow again Harley Benton have pulled another fantastic great value musical instrument
Awesome
Great starter and experienced player guitar.
Every penny was worth paying.
I gave this to my father, he was very pleased.
The only thing is that i would recomend you file the end of the frets. Not a problem, but do account that you will most likely need to do it also, as i did.
