Great quality price product

It is very hard to find an acoutic guitar with eq at this price!

Back and sides are wood! (mahogany) and this is great.

Obviously you need to put better strings, and setup it better but the final result is vey good.

They need to improve the quality of the soundhole decoration,

there is a very thin lacquer on it and it easily goes off.

A Good cheap guitar!

Bought it as an afterthought, just to have an acoustic guitar. But oh boiiiii!

For that low price... It's a hell of a guitar, especial soundwise.

Pros:

This guitar sounds good, really good. It resonates as a good guitar should, I had a Fender CD-60, and... well i think i'd prefer this guitar over fender if you don't have a need to plug it using jack.

Cons:

- Well it's a cheap guitar, so the tuners are doing their jobs, but that's it. I had one tuner that has a sharp edge and I hope I won't cut myself. And 3rd fret tuner is a clicky one (still works though)

- String holders are cheap. And I can't wait to change them for something more aesthetically better looking

- There's a lot of painting errors, like uncentered dots at the edge of a fretboard and everything, but hey it's a guitar under a 100 euro.

Conclusion:

For less than a 100 eu it's a really good guitar. yeah the paint job is flawed

and tuners are average at best but the sound of it... at least for me is making it a hell of a deal.

I'm happy with it, and hope this review will be helpful to ya!

Nice guitar for the money

This is the eighth Harley Benton guitar I've bought and by far the cheapest. The fret edges were a touch sharp and the truss rod needed adjusting, other than that it was as expected. Quality is deacent and playability is good after adjusting the truss rod and filing the fret edges. You can't go wrong for the money. Lets see how long it lasts.

Review Harley Benton D-120CE NT

Quite a good guitar for the money. I advise you to buy if this is your first guitar. In general, its quality is good and it sounds good, but in this price category there may be shortcomings - poorly polished frets, defects of the fingerboard, in some places there may be glue, but all the shortcomings can be removed by a master.

Very nice guitar for this price

Good Value

Playability:

Enjoyable and generally easy. The string height could have been a bit lower. Frets feel nice. Tunning stability - not perfect.

Pros:

Good Price

Good Sound

Ability to plug to an amplifier

Disadvantages:

The strings some times are caught in nut as you tune and make a cracking sound (make me nervous that their going to break. Maybe nut needs to be lubricated or carved smoother.

Overall:

Good for the money, although i haven't played with other accoustic guitar in the same price point in order to have a reference point.

Good value for money

Sounds great for £60 but the overall finish and feel of the guitar isn't great. I guess that is expected for a guitar this cheap

Great acustic/electric for a great price!

Fret ends were a bit sharp when I first picked it up, but a quick file and sand and now it plays like a deam

Really good for the price

I own (and have owned) some very high end instruments including fully custom built boutique acoustic guitars. I bought this guitar to take with me on my disaster relief missions where all belongings are likely to be exposed to uncertain harsh elements. This guitar perfectly fits the bill. It doesn't have the most full, loud sound or sustain, but it stays in tune, is durable enough to handle the rough treatment, and the intonation is pretty close out of the box. I would probably cut a new bridge saddle and nut from bone to improve the intonation and sustain. I'm thinking about sanding the finish off and applying a wax or tung oil finish to help with the tone and volume as well. Overall though, this exceeds expectations and competes with pretty much every entry level instrument I've played costing triple what I paid. A fantastic bargain!

Good Enough

I wanted to start learning to play guitar. Haven't had much time or chance since but I like the sound of it. The only thing I'd say is that it feels big for me. It is not the best quality guitar but a very good piece for a learner. Came very quickly.

It is cheap and nice for a student.

Nice

Wasn't expecting much for the price but am really happy with this guitar. The fret ends need a little attention and I probably wouldn't trust it too much on tour due to the materials being evidently less premium than other more expensive acoustics but I think this guitar sounds and plays brilliantly. It holds its tuning well and has the option for both a DI and miked sound with the built in preamp, which also very much surprised me in terms of sonic quality.. in a good way!

As a electric guitar player primarily, my knowledge and interest in acoustic guitars is very limited but as something inexpensive and solid to knock around on and record with, this guitar is perfect.

Great budget acoustic (with a few tweeks)

OK, so I have one issue with this guitar so let's get that out the way. On inspection I ran my thumb and index finger down the edges of the neck (gently) and sliced open my index finger. These were the worst fret ends I have ever seen on a guitar, ever. Now don't let this put you off, this takes seconds to remedy with a fine grain sanding sponge. Just be aware that the frets are quite weedy and probably couldn't be re-crowned when they wear, there's not a lot of material there. So, this isn't a 'keep for life' guitar unless you are prepared to spend twice what it's cost for a refret at some point down the line. However, for a beginner or low usage player (electric guitarists, bassists who like an acoustic hanging around) this shouldn't be an issue.

Now onto the good stuff. Generally this is a pretty nice guitar, nice wood, surprisingly good tone for an inexpensive guitar, tuners aren't high end but have a pretty decent ratio and it stays in tune. I hear of so many people who plan to swap out tuners on Harley Bentons before they have even received the instrument but I now have 3 HB guitars and 1 bass and I have had zero tuning issues.

I had very low expectations of the preamp given the price point, and was pleasantly surprised when I plugged it in. Obviously it isn't as good as a more expensive guitar but it is entirely usable if you had to take it on stage or into the rehearsal room and plug into an amp or PA.

Any beginners reading this - you need to understand that pretty much any new guitar you buy will probably need an initial setup. Higher end more expensive guitars will often need to same tweeks as budget guitars, so don't fall into the trap of thinking I only paid so much so its not worth spending almost as much again on a setup. A good setup is worth every penny on any guitar, and this guitar is no different. This could make the difference between learning to play and having a lifetime of pleasure and giving up because it seems too hard.

So to conclude, excellent value for money, invest in a setup, and if you wear the frets out in a few years then it's done its job, you've learnt to play and will probably want something better anyway.

Excellent guitar!

I would have given 5* if not for the strings that came with the guitar, that were a little rusty and one of them snapped right away. Fortunately, customer service is excellent and they sent me a new set of strings! Besides that, for the price you're paying, the guitar is incredible. I'm not a pro or anything, I just use it mainly to have a little fun everyday, but I loved it!

The best cheap acoustic out there?

I just wanted an acoustic to have laying around for the times i just wanted to sit on the couch and mindlessly strum away. For $70 i wasnt expecting much. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of this guitar. It does have some sharp fret edges that will need to be filed down, but thats not a big deal to fix. I had to change the strings immediately as the B string snapped when i was tuning it for the 1st time, again not a big deal as I would replaced them anyway. I have not tried the electronics yet, so i can not vouch for their sound quality, but the acoustic sound quality is very good in my opinion, but I have never had an acoustic before so take that for whats it worth.

Hard to beat at this price

I mainly play electric, but wanted to replace an old acoustic with something a little fresher (but didn't really want to spend too much). A saw an un-boxing review on YouTube of this guitar so decided to order one. Pros: I am amazed at the quality of this guitar and it's sound, especially at this price-point (and I love the cut-out body shape, too). Cons: the action was a little bit high, but I sanded down the bridge to improve this. Overall: if you are looking for an "I play it every now and again" acoustic, or you are just starting out, this is a good guitar.

Impressed with the value for money

I really like this guitar.

Don't expect the tone of a guitar 10 times that price but sounds nice and even.

I haven't extensively tested the pickup/eq section since i am mostly playing unplugged so i cant comment on that.

The build quality is good overall and the finish looks good.

The strings are a bit terrible tho ,change them asap

For the price, I can't recommend it enough!

This guitar IS NOT perfect. BUT. If you have any simple skills at all, you can fix the issues I had... The bridge was set too high and I had to sand it down to lower the string height. The nut needed just a bit of working to remove a bur from the 5th string slot. Other than that, Zero issues. sounds great, plays great after those two adjustments and the electronics in it are great. If you want a campfire/couch guitar or are a beginner of any age. Buy this.

Decent cheap guitar

I was looking for a cheap guitar that I could travel around with and take different places without worrying constantly about nicking it up. I would say this guitar was a great buy. I don't think I you could find a better guitar for under $100. I plan on buying the black version of this guitar down the road.
