Harley Benton D-120CE NT Reviews
If you know how to setup a guitar, its great value for money
Budget and good sound!!
Best budget guitar ever what you can buy for this price!
fantastic!
This is my first ever guitar and I absolutely love this thing to pieces, it sounds beautiful and I can't put it down.
Amazing Value
Feels and sounds amazing for the price. A really good budget guitar that holds quite easy and feels very sturdy. The only slight downside if I am being really picky is that the bridge does feel a bit cheap but seems to be lasting and able to take a few knocks while also being extremely lightweight.
Would definitely recommend.
Great quality price product
It is very hard to find an acoutic guitar with eq at this price!
Back and sides are wood! (mahogany) and this is great.
Obviously you need to put better strings, and setup it better but the final result is vey good.
They need to improve the quality of the soundhole decoration,
there is a very thin lacquer on it and it easily goes off.
Unbelievable!
To start, I should say that I am not by any means a professional guitarist, however I have played for several years, and am a bit of a gear nerd. I like to think I can tell a quality instrument when I see one, and know many common flaws or issues to look for.
So far I have been completely blown away with the quality of this guitar. For being one of the two least expensive options on the website, it not only met but greatly exceeded all my expectations. Shipping was very fast and it arrived to me in the US in two days and with no damage. I was somewhat amused that the shipping cost more than the actual guitar did, but it was well worth the cost.
The craftsmanship is second to none considering the price. I was simply hoping for something in the starter - guitar range to replace my old Ibanez acoustic that was stolen years ago, but this gorgeous Harley Benton has created a new standard that I doubt anything short of a much more expensive guitar manufacturer could exceed.
The natural, unamplified "tone" of this guitar is rich and beautiful, and the intonation is spot-on all the way down the neck. The finish of the guitar is impressive and eye-catching. This guitar makes me want to pick it up and play every time I see it.
The electronics and pickups are perfectly acceptable and useable. I admit I don't have much of a reference there when it comes to acoustics, but I don't find there to be any issues or noticable negatives when it comes to the amplified sound.
The tuners are smooth and responsive, though the plastic nut does cause tuning to be a little jumpy at times. I will likely upgrade to a bone nut and saddle in the future as I've noticed that simple and cheap upgrade did wonders for tuning stability on the other guitars I own.
The guitar came with two different colors of pick guard options (marbled red and traditional black), which was nice except that the sound-hole border was improperly sized on both and would have to cover up the abalone inlay if used without making any changes. I had to cut and enlarge the circumference of the pick guard's curved edge so this would not be the case as I really like the look of the abalone and didn't want to cover it up. Personally, I would have preferred that the pick guard came pre-installed from the factory, however I'm sure that some appreciate the option of leaving it off.
There are minor imperfections, the most noticable of which was a small amount of fret sprout over the neck. This caused a few cracks in the finish and binding along the underside of the neck; however this could have happened after I received the guitar as I live in a desert which is undoubtedly causing the wood to shrink, so I wouldn't hold it against the manufacturer. I corrected the sprouted frets with a file where necessary, and could likely fix the cracks in the finish and binding of the neck with a little paint and lacquer if I wanted to, however I am not very concerned with that as it doesn't affect playability or appearance at all. None of the flaws are anything more than minor cosmetic issues; none are noticable at a glance; and none take away from the fact that this is undeniably a well constructed and beautiful guitar.
To summarize, if you're considering getting an acoustic to practice or possibly even do some small street or bar performances, I don't believe that you could go wrong choosing this guitar. I'm looking forward to many more years playing this and hearing how the sound develops as it ages. I most certainly will be back for more Harley Benton guitars in the future.
Nice guitar
Great electric/acoustic for the price!
Solid, rich-sounding and budget friendly guitar.
Harley Benton D-120CE NT is my top pick for the best budget acoustic guitar, overall. Obviously, this stunning guitar really does sound as good as it looks and offers the best amplified sound for its price point, and if you're looking for a budget, rich-sounding guitar, look no further than the Harley Benton D-120CE NT.
This guitar may be cheap, but it feels solid, plays like a dream and most importantly, it sounds fantastic!
A Good cheap guitar!
Bought it as an afterthought, just to have an acoustic guitar. But oh boiiiii!
For that low price... It's a hell of a guitar, especial soundwise.
Pros:
This guitar sounds good, really good. It resonates as a good guitar should, I had a Fender CD-60, and... well i think i'd prefer this guitar over fender if you don't have a need to plug it using jack.
Cons:
- Well it's a cheap guitar, so the tuners are doing their jobs, but that's it. I had one tuner that has a sharp edge and I hope I won't cut myself. And 3rd fret tuner is a clicky one (still works though)
- String holders are cheap. And I can't wait to change them for something more aesthetically better looking
- There's a lot of painting errors, like uncentered dots at the edge of a fretboard and everything, but hey it's a guitar under a 100 euro.
Conclusion:
For less than a 100 eu it's a really good guitar. yeah the paint job is flawed
and tuners are average at best but the sound of it... at least for me is making it a hell of a deal.
I'm happy with it, and hope this review will be helpful to ya!
Highly impressed
This thing is awesome I bought it for a friend, but of course gave it a test when it showed up, the quality is incredible for the price, it feels like a much more expensive guitar. the pickup works well but you cant turn it up too much or it will scream at you.
Nice guitar for the money
This is the eighth Harley Benton guitar I've bought and by far the cheapest. The fret edges were a touch sharp and the truss rod needed adjusting, other than that it was as expected. Quality is deacent and playability is good after adjusting the truss rod and filing the fret edges. You can't go wrong for the money. Lets see how long it lasts.
Replace The Machine Heads
Hi, this inexpensive guitar needs new tuners, that I have ordered to fix the issues keeping the guitar in tune so you can even hear the sound. It won’t stay in tune without quality tuners and a proper set-up done.
Review Harley Benton D-120CE NT
Quite a good guitar for the money. I advise you to buy if this is your first guitar. In general, its quality is good and it sounds good, but in this price category there may be shortcomings - poorly polished frets, defects of the fingerboard, in some places there may be glue, but all the shortcomings can be removed by a master.
Nice
Very nice guitar for this price
one of the best acoustic guitar
before buying it as doubting the quality , as this cost this guitar is the best. the sound quality and the build in system is sound awesome, the build and the finishing quality is very good. i recommend this guitar not just for the beginners.
A really good value basic acoustic for general use
I have a Fender acoustic and a Crafter. My sons are always commenting that they would like an acoustic (they both have decent electric guitars) so for Christmas we got them one of these each. Both were delighted with them.
I of course had to make sure they were OK prior to Christmas and was seriously impressed by the quality considering the price point.
They were well set up. They were a little bright sounding for my taste but that could have been the strings.
All in all a great guitar to mess about on and practice with.
Great Value!
This guitar is great value for money. I've not played for a number of years and this is perfect for me to get back into it! The product is well made and was delivered quickly to the UK.
Good Value
Playability:
Enjoyable and generally easy. The string height could have been a bit lower. Frets feel nice. Tunning stability - not perfect.
Pros:
Good Price
Good Sound
Ability to plug to an amplifier
Disadvantages:
The strings some times are caught in nut as you tune and make a cracking sound (make me nervous that their going to break. Maybe nut needs to be lubricated or carved smoother.
Overall:
Good for the money, although i haven't played with other accoustic guitar in the same price point in order to have a reference point.
