Amazing
I cannot emphasise enough just how underrated this guitar is. It has been said a number of times but it easily beats others in higher leagues, at a fraction of the price.
Great budget choice
Bought this as my first guitar ever with some basic knowledge on guitars- would totally recommend!
For a beginner this is just what i needed. Sound is good, size of the guitar was as expected, the finish is of good quality for a budget choice like this one. Came with no scratches to body. Quite glossy
The gradation of colours on the front is not as smooth- orange/yellow tones stand out on the guitar however it is just as nice.
Easy to tune, came mostly in tune just had to use an app to refine. Not many issues with the guitar when it comes to the wooden finishes as mostly everything is sanded (seems to be a common issue with budget harley benton’s but i did not experience this).
No need to get an acoustic for a higher price as this is perfect to learn from!
d 120 VS
goede gitaar voor het geld, wat scherpe fretuiteinden, die kan je bijvijlen.
Great Guitar
For The Price this Guitar is great. It is loud and warm sounding. The action seems good also.
A good guitar for the price
Really liked the way this guitar turned out, for the price I think it's a great buy.
Budget Acoustic but with fantastic looks & sound
Needed a slightly darker sounding acoustic to complement a brighter previously owned guitar for home studio use. Opted for the Harley and wasn't disappointed. Looks great, sounds great and for the price hits well above the average budget guitar.
Lost a few stars but only for some sharp fret ends that needed dressing with a fine file and scratchy frets that needed a polish. Once that few minutes of work was done played like a dream.
Need a budget acoustic with warm sound? This is it.
With adjustments, good for the price
Pros:
- a good budget guitar if you don't want to invest too much in an acoustic
- the sound is nice and loud (You really have to put on new strings, though. I put some ernie ball strings on mine, and it was a game changer)
- good large dreadnaught body
Cons:
- the action is uncomfortably high (you can't stay in tune higher up the neck)
- the tuners are somewhat flimsy
I now mainly use it for slide guitar in open G and it's great for that. Otherwise, if you want to fret anything higher up the neck, you'll have to adjust the saddle and action.
For such practice It is awesome value. Great guitar to have at home to practice and play around.
Great Product
Looks good. Sounds great. I'm no musician but to me this is great value. I would recommend it to anyone. All I need now is practice.
Cheap.
Average playability, bad sound. It's cheap.
Great sound at a great price
Paying a little over $60 for this guitar, I really didn't expect much. But I am delighted at how easy it plays and how rich it sounds. I had to smooth jagged fret ends when I got it, but that's it. Thanks Harley Benton for amazing me again with unsurpassed value.
Lovely guitar for the price
There is no doubt that this is a quality instrument. It's a pub guitar so gets bumped and handed round but it's very robust. It plays and sounds lovely and I'm happy with the purchase.
The only negative is that the frets are sharp on the top side. I've seen this on other HB reviews so it's not an unknown problem. I'm sure it can be filed but you shouldn't really need to do this with a new instrument.
That's why it only got 4 stars
A great acoustic guitar for beginners
This Harley Benton acoustic six-string model is a great instrument for beginners who want to learn and practice on guitar. This was my very first guitar and I totally loved it (I still play on it from time to time to this day as well). It has fine material for both the body and the strings. Last but not least, for its price, it is a very good deal so I highly recommend it.
Can't beat the value
First acoustic guitar love it. As expected factory strings werent uptp much so Changed the strings for d'addario and what a difference. Very happy with factory setup also the action is nice and low.
Amazing
For a ¤59 guitar, I wasn't expecting much. However, from the moment I played it, I was blown away. Even my brother, who has been playing guitar for far, far longer than I have been, thought it was one of the crispest sounding guitars he's ever heard. Despite breaking the bottom string after only a couple of days (and I'm certain that was my fault), I am utterly in love with this, and would highly recommend
Wonderful guitar
If you are looking for a guitar, that's it!
The sound is great, better than you would expect for the price. Especially with more expensive strings (here: Elixir) you can get a lot out of it.
The workmanship is good. However, here you can see the price a little: glue residue on the dock and a few mistakes in the paint.
The playability is, after a few small adjustments, also top.
All in all: a great instrument for the price. Wonderful for beginners and recommended even for advanced.

?First impressions last? as the saying goes and with guitars it is no different. Sure, you may notice imperfections and idiosyncrasies as time goes by which you will either learn to love, or deal with how you see fit, but after your first hour with a guitar you will pretty much have made your mind up about it in most cases. In my experience Harley Benton guitars always make a good impression.
Upon opening the box the first thing that will hit you is how attractive the D-120VS is. It really is stunning to look at. When I was young guitars that looked this good had to be expensive, and the ones in my price range, well, they looked appropriate. The D-120VS is a well-built instrument that feels great to hold. It feels solid and like it will last a long time. The build quality and the materials used are very impressive for its price. Again, these are things you'd expect to find with a more expensive guitar. The paint job and finish of the guitar are excellent.
At this stage you have span the guitar around in your hands and are happy, despite having not yet play it!
So, now for the most important parts concerning how it feels to play, and how it sounds. Looks are great, but if you're going to have a long term relationship then 'it?s what's inside that counts'. The feel and weight of the guitar make it a pleasure to hold and comfortable to play. The neck is set perfectly to allow you to play riffs high up on the neck as well as chords at the headstock. The neck is very impressively set with a slight 'convex' bow which surprised me but this really works well and allows ease of play and stable action all over the neck. The guitar was even in tune which I couldn?t believe! The action is perfect. Not too low, allowing the sound to resonate well as to provide the full bodied, warm acoustic sensation you are desiring from the instrument. The D-120VS is amazingly playable for such a budget guitar. Easier to play than my Yamaha especially higher up the neck, making the D-120VS a perfect guitar to learn on. Learning should not be limited by the instrument.
On close examination some very minor aesthetic issues can be found, but they really are very minor. No faults that would affect the sound or grow to be bigger problems. The only one concern for me are the few rough frets (fret wire) which could be repaired with a fret dressing - there were no dead notes at all - so nothing major.
All in all the D-120VS is an excellent choice for its price, if you are looking for a budget guitar. It is ideal to have laying around the house, easy to pick up and start enjoying, and not afraid to pick up a few knocks though it deserves care and respect. With this it will last and indeed develop character. More importantly though is how appropriate I believe this and other Harley Benton guitars are for the beginner. They are excellent value, and inspiring to play. They also look good and are a great first guitar that a young player could bond and develop with.
Harley Benton heaven
This Harley Benton D120-vs out of the box was stunning to look at, action was a bit high, this was easily remedied,I didn't think at this price point that this guitar was going to be very playable but how wrong I was, this sounds much better than the low end fendercd-60 and Epiphone-dr-100 I have the build quality and finish was superb the neck didn't even need oiled, this guitar stays in tune very well, another great budget guitar that plays and rings out better than two of its main rivals, so needless to say as long as it sounds good buy it,I have 7 Harley Benton acoustics and iv been happy with them all.buy it,
