Unbeatable at this price point

5th HB guitar - no issues at all with any of them. Minor cosmetic issues on this one and the HB35-plus, but nothing else.

This one is quite stunning to look at, very pretty guitar which seems more expensive than it is. Plays well.

Great Value - Solid Guitar

This is a good guitar and a totally amazing one for the price. Personally I modified it by installing a brass adjustable nut, heavier strings tuned down to 432hz, and a setup the way I like, and wow, I really enjoy playing it. Highly recommended!

Great guitar for a great price

I'm really impressed with this guitar. Solid hardware. Hold tune really well. Lovely weight and finish without a single blemish. Sounds really good too.

you get what you pay for

tuners ok, nut a bit rough, frets, fret ends very good, 1st inlay at 3rd fret is sitting proud of fretboard by 1.1mm, 3rd fret is about 1.4mm, paint on body a bit patchy, light and dark, bridge posts and tail stop posts not square to body, bridge on wrong way round, screws should be towards neck, pole pieces on bridge humbucker were set rather high, reason being that someone rung screw on top side of humbucker, when I tried to raise humbucker, it gave up the ghost, I had to put a little nut on end of adjusting screw, tone knobs not tightened enough. Like I said you pay €139 and you get a €139 guitar. If you don't mind a bit of messing around buy one, sounds ok for the money.

Great guitar for the price

Very cheap and very good sounding guitar. The two volume and two tone knobs let you customise the sound however you want. The guitar is really comfortable to hold and play. The frets are polished. It looks very nice.

Came a little bit out of tune. The binding of the pickguard is a little bit poorly put on. The switch feels a little bit wobbly.

It’s awesome!

It has so much room to expand. It’s quite dark in comparison to other guitars, but hits a certain clarity. The quality is amazing! The only reason I put it down a star in features is because there’s no coil splitting, which would be great! Easy to do yourself though, so no foul!

For this price it's killer.

I'm not a pro guitarist, I'm learning again from the beginning, having not picked up a guitar for almost 30 years. It started about 6 months ago I bought a strat, and a Epiphone SG. The strat doesn't suit but the SG does, I love SG's.

When I heard from various reviews how Harley Benton had upped it's game on their guitars, I just had to have one. Of course being a SG fan I choose the DC-580 CH. I can say with my hand on my heart that I am blown away by the quality of this guitar for the price. It's finish is absolutely flawless, the feel is wonderful. Of course there is neck dive but that's a minor thing, and common in other SG/SG style guitars. The neck is wonderfully smooth, as are the frets. The sound is very pleasing too, these pickups do a great job, not the best on the planet, but very capable for what I need, an AC/DC sound.

What do I use the DC-580CH for?? Well , my Epiphone SG is in standard tuning for the newer AC/DC stuff, and the DC-580 is half a semitone down for the older AC/DC stuff, saves time retuning all the time!

If I am totally honest, I prefer to play the older DC stuff, which means I have the Harley Benton guitar plugged in more than the Epiphone, which suits me fine 😁

To finalise: I am blown away that such a guitar exists for such a low price point, I love it! Don't be a brand snob, so many people who know what they're talking about, love this guitar!

Next step: I'm definitely getting a Harley Benton DC Custom in the next week or so.

for the price you get a very high quality guitar, double the price and still it's a bargain!Perfectly set, little fret job ( trim the edges)and you have a very good instrument for beginner/ intermediate player!

I love it!

This was my first purchase of a Harley Benton. I had always wanted a SG like guitar with 24 frets Les Paul Scale and the input on the side. Because of the input jack i avoided getting a Gibson or Epiphone. This guitar feels like an extension of myself. The pick ups sound amazing and the guitar was playable right out of the box, tuning was slightly flat but playable. the set up is great, feels like butter in my hands. I had them install Grover locking tuners and they included the original tuners with the shipment. this has become my favorite guitar followed by my Les Paul and Jackson soloist. it feels and plays so much better smoother and sounds so good! I cant believe this was so low in cost yet so high in quality. when i play this guitar i feel inspired like I did with my first Gibson Les Paul. I will be getting one of these for my sons birthday who has decided to move from the violin and Baritone Sax to guitar.

Great platform for upgrades.

The neck of this instrument is amazing. The build is solid. However the pickups are weak, so get them changed.

Thank you very much for the guitar, but the quality is a bit let down.

On the first day, as soon as I got the guitar, I was very happy, but over time, the longer I was with the guitar, I began to notice flaws.

First, let's talk about the pros:

1. Acceptable sound, not great, but quite acceptable.

2. The appearance is quite good, especially the color.

So the cons:

It may not be from everyone who buys this guitar.

1. a cracked guitar pad - most likely this is due to the fact that no one at the factory oiled it, also a cracked insert on some frets.

2. The tailpiece is not fully inserted, that is, the washer into which the tailpiece bolts are screwed.

3. wobbling tuning pegs, i.e. 6,5,4,2.

In principle, for your money, the guitar is not bad.Perfect for a beginner or as a guitar for the home. All the shoals are cosmetic and do not physically interfere with playing, but still not pleasant.

Price is very good for its value.

Because of the sg style, it is not very stable but that is okay.

Great guitar with a few flaws

I had this guitar shipped half way across the world so of course there would be some guitar set up required. I did not dock quality stars for that.

The sound of the pickups are okay. It's not the loudest or clearest pickups. They are very mid heavy, it's like your amp is behind a closed door in another room. It's warm but not clear sounding.

The guitar cavities for the electronics and pickups are not shielded but that's okay as it's a very quiet guitar. It doesn't appear to pick up any hum.

Overall, very nice guitar! Low action (after setup due to world wide shipping and different humidity/temperature conditions), nice finish (with the exception of some areas where it appears the finish was thinly applied or perhaps missed), all the frets reachable including the 24th frets and it seems to have very good tuning stability!

I am comparing this guitar to a Epiphone SG Muse which is about 3 times the price. The Epiphone has nicer sounding pickups and cosmetics(no paint flaws). Surprisingly, the action is about the same height between the two. The DC-580 has a flatter fretboard so it makes playing the fast stuff a bit easier. I would buy this guitar again, a different set of electronics, a small practice amp and still have more money in my pocket then if I got another muse.

Crap model or just a lemon?

Bough this after reading OK reviews and expected something at least decent but instead i got something thats practically _unusable_.

First of all, it doesnt keep any tuning for more than a few minutes, no kidding. Second, the neck is so bad it affects the tuning by just tilting the guitar sideways like 45 degrees.

A guitar that doesnt stay in tune even when tuned is just something to look at, which is basically all it does for me now, its standing in a corner looking pretty sweet.

WIth all that said, I also bought a Harley Benton bass guitar at the same time and that one is however really good for its price, so I wouldnt blame the brand itself but rather this model.

Summary: With a price like this i guess you have to consider any extensive QC might not be something that's prioritized by the manufacturer.
