Harley Benton Digital Delay Reviews
fully justifies
This delay fully justifies my expectations. Thanks!
Nice Delay
For this price, I have no complains at all.
I use it with keyboard and with bass at home and it works totally fine.
Maybe the only critic I could add is that this pedal is a little bit oversized, but that is not a big problem anyway.
Very strong metal body.
The new standard!
This sounds killer. The worst thing is it covers such a wide range of possibilities that getting the sound you hear in your head takes a bit of tuning on the pedal. I?ve found the best results in a slap back setting, the first echos stand out whilst the next note you play is supported by a slightly modulated "reverbish ambiance", also for high ambiance KILLER sound. If you want anything noticably better you have to spend 10x the cash.
Good but not the best
If you are a beginner and are starting with getting into pedals. go for it! But if you are experienced....don't. Like it's great but the delay time is very short and like if you turn the buttons it might get glitchy sometimes.
Speaking about the glitchy part: If you experiment alot with it you can get some pretty nice synth and DJ style sounds out of it.
It works just fine the only problem is wehn i turn the repeat up, it begins to do a reaslly loud noise, but it is a great pedal anyway.
defect after 3 years
Cheap delay, sounds good. However, mine stopped working after 3 years.
Nice usable pedal.
The pedal arrived in perfect condition. After a year of use in house and on gigs, it worked without a glitch. It stopped working when my bass player dropped his amp on the pedal. I was very upset!! If not for that I believe I would still have this pedal and would make good use of it.
Good clear sounding pedal
I really want a editable delay unit, as I deal in BPM to ms with my song writing; but I can't afford and expensive rack unit model just for writing with, so I looked for something that would do, and I found this pedal. Getting precise to the beat delays is still hit and miss, but the quality of the sound is really good. Well done Mr TH
Bargain for the price.
I'm not a big pedal user one or two are just fine for me. This pedal sounds more analogue than digital which suits me down to the ground. Basic in design and function, but does all I need it to do. Simplicity is the key word here. For ¤30 you cant go wrong. I know there are more sophisticated models on the market but I like to keep it simple. This is the third pedal I've got from the Harley Benton range and I'm very happy with them all.
Harley Benton Delay
Cool sound. Not to sterile and it's got a good vibe.
An okay delay pedal
This is a good looking pedal, feels sold, although I wasn?t very excited with the sounds I got from it.
Plugging it in the FX loop of a Marshall DSL50, I can?t say there is somethig very bad about it I just felt the echoes pretty ?electronic? using it on distorted sounds, on clean stuff it was okay. I am used to the digital delays of recording software programs that you can manipulate the echoes much better, I was hearing a harshness to the effect while feeling the echoes mess with my dry signal in a not so pleasant way. I do music production for many years now and my ear has became very picky I guess...don?t know.
Also the fact that won?t let you tap your time makes it kind of hard to use so thats why I give 3 stars to the features. Anyways that is my opinion while I haven?t tried anything more expensive to compare it to.
Overall I think it is a good cheap device to start getting into the effects thing and if you like delay effects you will create nice things, plus you can do very fun alien and weird sounds cranking the feedback and playing with your time knob!
You won't find anything similar in this price.
I was looking for a simple delay just to practice some melodies. THIS is what you actually need. Works like regualr delay, additional battery slot. It's good for it's price, no need to write more.
Great pedal for the money
Avery effective delay pedal for such a reasonable price. Easy to use - control knobs allow you to mix effects well. It might lack range if you wanted to use it for playing live.
Okay for the price
Obviously this delay is only ¤30,- for that price you get a good quality product but there are 2 problems.
1 this is an analog delay, not a digital.
It's more of a shimmer/reverb than an actual delay, the time knob only makes a difference between 11-2 o'clock before that there is hardly any slapback and after it doesn't really get faster at all.
So again great affordable little pedal but if you are really looking for that U2 kind of sound this is not your pedal.
Very good for the price
It's a digital delay with some analog flavor.
I own a few delay pedals and this one is amazing for the price, I would pay double for it. It has that high cut on the repetitions that gives a good depth to the sound. It's really cool for some doom and stoner rock. I really enjoy it.
They main con is the building quality, mine arrived broke, some solder joins on the main board were touching each other, so I just sand it a bit and the pedal worked like a charm.
Overall acceptable.
It is a pretty good delay (actually I think it is analog, not digital, but don't really care too much about it) for the price it costs.
Certainly not the best option if you make heavy use of delay, but perfectly fits my needs, namely, sporadic use just for fun.
The main delay functions (time and repeat) are rather limited, but definitely better than other pedals in the same price range. Also, the pedal is extremely easy to use and the built quality seems ok.
simple but effective
If someone want's to try out different pedals and explore them a little bit more, these pedals from harley benton are great. Simple to use, nice simple sound and solid built. If you want a delay with more options or a warmer sound, look for something different.
cheap and good
Very freaking cheap one, it absolutley worth 29 euro, a quality and the sound is pretty good enough for everyday use at home or even at some concerts. I used to play this thing for a half a year and it was ok. Unfortunatley i had to sell it because i needed a tap tempo, this is probably the biggest disatvantage of this pedal. But its stupid to expect tap tempo and everything in Chinese pedal for 29 euros.
So, if you need a cheap delay for home playing or you are not a great professional player , you definatly should buy this one and enjoy. But i cannot advise this delay for professionals 'cause its not good enough for them.
Excellent pedal, and what a bargain!
Superb range of delay sounds from such an unassuming little beauty, very robust. I'm very glad I bought it.
Great pedal for the price
I bought this pedal a couple of years ago, and I love it.
The name of the pedal is "Digital Delay", but really, it sounds much more analog, sort of like tape delay, which is cool for dub like effects.
If you crank the settings you can get it to feed, which sounds really cool.
Only minus is the build quality, they are cheaply produced, but for the money it's great.
All in all recommendable if you want a cheap analog type delay.
