Harley Benton DS-10 Mini Reviews
Excellent beginner guitar
Nabbed this for my daughter to start learning, but ended up using as a fun parlor style guitar as well. For the price, it can't be beaten
Brilliant beginner guitar
Lovely little guitar. Very playable. Good build quality. The size is excellent for kids starting out on their guitar journey. The sound is equal to my little martin for 1/10th the cost.
Harley Benton :)
Only HB is good&cheap enough ;)
Fantastic
If your looking for a sturdy, little, carry around guitar. absolutly ideal. great sound, great build quality. 10/10
Brilliant little gutair
Was delivered in a few days to Northern Ireland handy little guitar am a beginner and loving it and was packaged very well! Action height is perfect would definitely recommend 👌
Excellent guitar for an even better price!
Been using this guitar for two years now and have been constant impressed by the build and sound quality for the price I paid. Action is absolutely spot on and the fretwork is really well finished for a guitar at this price. Absolutely no complaints.
Great little guitar, big bang for the buck!
So I decided to get this thing for my kid as his first acoustic.
He's 7 and loves everything guitar.
I figured this would be good for a beginner and thought it looked beautiful on the site, so I got it.
Came nicely packed, box in a bigger box to protect it from damage and arrived right before Christmas so great timing too.
I was pleasantly surprised, not against low expectations, but this is a great instrument for a beginner, for kids, and for anyone really.
It's light but holds together very well, has a clean bright sound and bigger than you would expect to come from its small body. That puts a big smile on my kid's face! On mine too!
Action is a little high but he likes it that way and that's nothing that can't be fixed with very little effort anyway if you like it lower.
Tuners work okay and tuning holds well.
The matte finish is beautiful and it really feels nice to the touch.
There are few minor things but not even worth mentioning and most related to personal style and preference that can be easily fixed or adjusted.
I've seen way more serious issues with way more expensive instruments so you can't go wrong with this one.
Overall I think is a great little guitar, big bang for the buck, and I'm thinking of getting one myself. I always thought no barbecue or campfire feels right without the ol' strummin' and this one's great for the road.
want to thank the store and the staff. you are best. about the instrument, the guitar is perfectly assembled, very pleasant, I can't let go of my hands. can be quiet enough to play even at night without disturbing neighbors, and can be loud enough to sound outdoor. the tone has a banjo hue, which gives the folk compositions a beautiful color. it is a cheap but complete tool.
Not happy
It gets out of tunes constantly... thought it looked nice but it plays awfull. The price and lenght of guitar are good though
Incredible little guitar for the price
I am surprised by how much I love this guitar. No bends in the neck after extended use and even storing it in the vicinity of a window, the sound is nice and clear, and aside from one fuzzy fret it plays like a charm. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a small, affordable beginner/travel steel string guitar.
Nice guitar
Lovely little guitar. I got this for my daughter to learn on and she loves it. Build quality is ok for the price. Be prepared to re tune a lot but for the money, a nice little guitar.
Best acoustic guitar I've owned!
I'm a singer-songwriter and purchased this guitar based on it's size and to make it easy to travel with. It has a comfortable action and warm/bright sound. The value for money is ecceptional, it's much nicer to play/better sound than guitars I've previously paid 4x as much for. Great guitar for the beginner or experienced musician.
Amazing for the price
Got this for my little nephew as his first guitar. It's light, but everything feels well put together. The tuning machines were of good quality and the guitar plays beautifully.
Perfect Travel Guitar
I was looking for something small to keep in my dorm room, it was small but so was the sound. Though it is well manufactured and look great I wasn't happy with the sound, the fretboard is also quite small if you have big fingers. This is not the products fault but just something to watch out for.
Starting guitar for kids, better than toys from supermarkets.
Sound is adequate to small body, you can find some minor imperfections, but it is not topic for this price.
Only surprised by sharp edges of body, this is uncomfortable.
If you looking for better small guitar, try Harley Benton travel, really next level for not so much money.
it's not you, it's me
unwrapping the box within the box, i was greeted by a well protected, well presented, quality looking guitar. It looks better than i had hoped for in terms of its satin finish, headstock and inlay style and overall appearance of the contrasting wood finishes. I couldn't fault the sound either, it's diminutive appearance does not lack any audible presence. If you have small hands or thin fingers you will do well with this as a travel instrument to be proud of and considering it's budget price it is in no way lacking. I on the other hand have sausage fingers and grossly underestimated what an 80cm long guitar would feel like for me. I will definitely buy another Harley Benson in a heartbeat as its replacement as, despite some youtube video review reservations, i have experienced first hand what great value for money and quality you can get from this brand.
Good beginners guitar for a very good price
Bought this guitar for my son who’s just beginning to play guitar. Tuning during play is rock solid, which is very important, especially for beginners who have enough problems getting their notes to sound clear and true. Intonation was perfect right out of the box. And action (string height) was adequate. All in all a very fine guitar for kids wanting to start, or even for grown ups looking for a travel guitar (have experience with that).
Sofa/travel guitar
Bought as a short term instrument after moving country before getting my other instruments sent over at a later date. For the price a perfectly acceptable guitar. Sound is small/boxy as expected but not unappealing. The size means you can easily play it sitting in any chair or on any sofa. Never unwieldy like a standard sized guitar.
The overall build quality is fine. No issues with gluing of the binding/neck joints. The top seems to be a very soft piece of wood and will probably indent easily over time.
However, the nut wasn't properly cut so the intonation near the nut wasn't great - I was able to cut deeper slots for the two high strings and now it's ok. The neck didn't need adjusting - good relief straight out of the box. But overall the action is HIGH. Not much you can do unless you want to sand down the bridge (I don't). For this reason I wouldn't recommend as a guitar for a beginner, whose finger tips will naturally be much softer. They would probably find it quite painful to play for any extended period.
As a 3rd/4th/5th (...!) guitar to have around for noodling it's a perfectly good option, however, and could certainly be taken travelling without worrying about it getting damaged.
Brilliant small guitar
Bought it for use as a travelling guitar. When it arrived it was really superb quality and sounds great. Can't put it down. Fantastic value for money I would recommend to anyone, just get one and start the fun.
50 euros?? Really???
This is an excellent mini/traveler guitar. I am very satisfied with it. It came with fresh strings and QC was done right. Would recommend it 10/10.
