Harley Benton Victory-BK Classic Series 5-stars Reviews
It's the best guitar i ever had
I wanted this guitar becuase it's cheap and kirk hammett used it in 1980s. I loved v style and the colour of it so i decided to bought it. It has the best sound and quality, I loved it.
Great for the price
I always wanted a V guitar and since I saw this I had to give it a try.
Ordered, played it and kept it :)
Nice budget guitar. Not the high end instrument but still great for bedroom players... would play it live with no problem.
No issues, some really minor imperfections that I noticed after a year but all and all great guitar.
If you are a beginer you can not go wrong with this one.
Some people change the magnets and bridge and stuff but no need to. Down the line maybe I will change tuners and that's it.
Nothing wrong with it a real rock machine.
Plays great at, looks good what more would you want :)
This is my first HB but it won't be the last.
Love it
I just love this guitar.....great look, finish, action and of course the sound is great....even makes me look cool😁
Probably the best cheap flying v
The looks of it and the sound is the best thing about the guitar there are no problems in it and features are good but if you want more you have to pay more but overall very good and I recommend people to buy and it’s not bad for a beginner at all
Punches well above its price point!
First off, my ratings are based on what you get for the price, as obviously you can't fairly compare a $160 Harley Benton to a $3,000 Gibson.
So here we go.
I can't believe this guitar costs only ~$160 Canadian! Do I have better guitars? Yes, but they all cost $600 or more. This guitar is easily on par with my ~$400-$500 Epiphones. The finish is great, with only a few barely noticeable defects, the pick-ups are a tad muddy, but do the job just fine, the tuners work very well and feel solid and smooth, fretwork was mostly quite good. No fret sprout or sharp edges to speak of, the frets are all levelled well (NO fret buzz at all!) but they are a bit rough to the point where string bends are more difficult than they should be. Easily fixable. The action is a bit high, but still very playable. Again, fixable. The guitar arrived from Germany to Canada in 4 business days set up, tuned and ready to rock!
Very happy customer. Will buy Harley Benton again and I would tell you if you are thinking about it, DO IT. These are good guitars.
Excellent value for money
Amazed at how this guitar is made for the money. Good quality finish. Powerful sound. My son is a singer, songwriter and guitarist and owns various guitars including a Gibson, P. R. S etc and the Harley Benton Victory sounds the most powerful. He got it for metal. He also does blues and rock.
Only quibble is strings too high but this is an easy fix. Will be buying Harley Benton again. Customer service was also excellent.
Nice!
With small tuning it will be really nice guitar. Worth the price.
for its price is perfect it feels perfenct and it sounds perfect. It's like a 300$ dolar guitar!!!
happy with purchase
everything is good or great minus humbucker switch. neck is straight, frets are great, humbucker's sound really good.
Cannot beat the quality in this price range.
The craftsmanship of this guitar is incredible especially in this price range. I would highly recommend to every one from a rookie to a seasoned player. The only thing I would recommend to make this guitar better is a better quality pickups.
For the price, this V cannot be beat.
I picked up the Victory because I was curious to see what the quality was like. I did not expect much due to the very low price.
I have to admit that I am very surprised with the quality of the guitar. It sounds great the frets are smooth with no sharp edges. Intonation was good out of the box. The Hardware is better than I would expect from a cheap guitar but it is nothing to write home about.
My only real complaint was that it was shipped with the strings still tight. This did not cause an issue this time but it could definitely cause problems.
That being said the shipping time was extremely fast. I am in the US and the guitar arrived in 3 days. It blew my mind that it showed up so quickly.
I will gladly buy more Harley Benton products in the future. I am very happy with this purchase.
This guitar sure is a Victory!
The guitar arrived within less than two weeks of ordering. The frets are all properly crowned and filed with zero fret buzz. The neck is very comfortable and can access the notes in higher register relatively easily. Though the pickups, volume controls, and tone controls are all solid, the 3-way switch is very cheap and will "spring" itself into the middle position from the bridge position with just the slightest touch. the only other con that I can note is the strap button output jack placements are a bit odd, but can be worked around with ease.
Overall this is an excellent guitar for its price point. There are some very MINOR finishing flaws but that is expected with a guitar at this low of a price point.
I would definitely recommend this guitar to any intermediate player! I personally use this guitar for doom and death metal but it is more than flexible to play anything from R&B, blues, or classic rock!
Overall despite the minor flaws I give this guitar 5/5 stars
Love the guitar, only one QC issue!
For the price of this guitar, I can't argue that its great.
The neck is a really nice thickness, its fast, and the frets are a good size to allow for comfortable chords and easy riff and lead work.
The balance of the body is better than nearly any V shaped guitar I've played. Absolutely 0 neck dive, even if the top strap pin feels like its in a slightly.. odd place. But it doesn't get in the way for me.
The pickups are bright and agressive, I use them for punk/black metal tones and they cut well for recording, they're quiet and have plenty of clarity. I will say, if you're into crystal clean tones, this probably isn't gonna be for you.
The tunes are fine, nothing special, but they do the job, not having to retune often. I might change them out in future, but until then, they're good enough for me.
The whole construction, fit and finish are all top notch, especially for something that cost just a little over £100, I've owned more expesnive guitars that can't contend, this and my other HB's are great. Especially for experimenting with new shapes and styles without busting the bank.
There is however, one tiny little issue.
The pickup selector doesn't like to stay in place. It loves the middle position, but will sometimes ping back from the bridge setting, or flat out refuse to stay in place in the neck one.
Its not great, but I'm fine with it. I take the neck pickups out of most of my guitar because I don't use it at all live, and have a bunch of options for neck pickups when recording. I'd obviously prefer if it worked, but worst case scenario a £2 part and 10 mins soldering as and when I may change the pickups and its fixed.
Very pleased. Nice one, Harley Benton.
Really noice piece of wood
Like I said before. A noice piece of wood
nice flying V copy
Like it
good finish
good fret work
great oomph from the humbuckers
rosewood fretboard had a nice colour variation.
It's a big slab of wood but is not particularly heavy so maybe wood is not solid?
Second Flying V replica I've owned and substantially better in quality than the similarly priced other guitar
Strings feel a little cheap, don't like D'addario like some other HBs, seems silly to stick cheap strings on a decent guitar
overall, v happy
My first V
I love it! Arrived in perfect condition, a dream to play. Neck feels great, no flaws in finish, all electronics work just fine. It is definitely worth the 100 bucks, makes you just pick it up and play it for hours.
Harley benton FV-430 BK Classic series
I bought this guitar a couple of years ago and its been one of the best guitars I've used. For the price it's amazing, The build quality is way better than I expected it to be - the finish of the paintwork is very impressive and the overall details such as the tone knobs, scratch plate, bridge and head stock really blew me away. After owning the guitar for a couple of years I am still completely satisfied with the quality, sound and feel of this guitar. Even for a low price range I would recommend this guitar to anyone interested in expanding their collection, or starting out. One thing that still impresses me about this guitar is how well it stays in tune and how clear the guitar resonates even without having it plugged in. I don't know why this guitar is so cheap I would personally pay more for a guitar of this quality, so I would urge anyone interested in this guitar to go ahead as they will not be disappointed.
