Harley Benton G212 Celestion V30 Reviews
As expected
Shipping was on time and the cabinet was excellent quality for the price!
Everything about this cabinet is great, the only problem I have is the packaging when shipped, the box arrived damaged and because of the lack of Styrofoam in the box the cabinet arrived with some small damage, thankfully the damage is in the back and can't be seen unless your looking for it,packaging before shipping must be improved
Pretty good affordable 2x12 but could be better.
The general construction of this unit is pretty good, as is the sound quality, especially for the price. This is the best speaker cab you can buy for under $500, bar none. You'll be surprised how full this cab sounds too, I was pleasantly surprised!
My only real complaint is the tolex, it is TERRIBLE. It arrived with a small ding in the tolex, not a huge deal, but I sat another speaker cab on its side on top of this unit while rearranging my music room, and it had already left indents after 5 MINUTES. A small complaint overall, but I wouldn't have minded paying a little more for this cab if they could put some better material on it.
Great speaker cab but not packaged the greatest.
I love the cab and I love the sound. I was looking for a 2x12 with celestion v30s and I am not disappointed by the sound. I still prefer this over spending 800+ on a mesa 2x12 cab with celestions. HOWEVER- when I got the cab, there was a 2 inch gash in the right side of it on the back. I would post a picture of it if I could, but it doesn't look like I am able to. The gash is the only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. I am still happy with it, but in the future, it needs to be more securely packaged, and UPS needs to treat their packages with better care. The box looked pretty banged up when it arrived.
Perfect cheap, but good sounding cab
For the price, it's practically perfect. The only thing I'd like to change, is to make it slightly more like the Mesa 2x12 with handwired V30s, but otherwise it works extremely well and is pretty versatile with its 2 inputs giving you the option to use 2 amps at the same time.
Killer value for the price.
The HB G212 is an absolutely outstanding value for the price. I picked this cab up to support my Engl Fireball 25, and it's the right pairing. The cab sounds fantastic with V30s. They sound great at 1, 5, or 25 watts. The construction is solid, and the built in handles are a great touch. You simply cannot beat the value for the price.
Bang for your buck
The two Celestion speakers alone make up around 80% of the price, so I was quite shocked how good the quality was on the actual cab itself, it ain't top quality but for the price it's the best you could get. I use it with a Marshall JCM 900 and the sound is very good, the Celestions make this thing a bargain.
Pros
- Celestion speakers
- Price
Cons
-None so far
unbelievable value
vintage 30s in a great cab for just the price of the speakers. it's unreal how good they sound. I have the orange 412's with v30s and though this doesn't have the girth of a 412 it has the air movement if that makes any sense. I have 4 of these for all my different rigs and it makes the big brothers jealous. Great build quality, lets not make it what it isn't though. Is not orange or mesa quality...I have both. Are they great reference points? you bet. Sadly can say that the build quality and the electronics are better than my Marshall stuff if that gives you any reference
Great cab for the price
V30s in a Cab for that price is a deal. Sounds great.
Really Good
Was recommended this cab by a friend and was not disappointed. The sound is really clear and better than what I was expecting.
Good cabinet
Apart from the physical quality issues (for example the white seal around the speaker is not even, some of it is coming out, so it doesn't look very good), the cabinet is a great choice for getting two V30 speakers for a low price. Don't expect anything high quality about the cabinet itself, it's quite bad, but get this for the speakers.
Best deal ever
Sounds great, very well built and solid. I should have bought the 4x12. Maybe next time
Awesome for the price!
I've bought both the slanted and straight version of this cab, and I think that the quality versus price can't be beaten.
I've used it both for playing live, at rehearsals and at home, and they work awesomely in all settings.
The cabs are well made, slightly heavy - and not flimsy.
The sound quality is awesome, and you get Celestion V30's!
The cabs work both for high-gain uses and clean sounds as well.
Will buy again!
Fantastic value
A 2x12 cab in poplar plywood with black tolex, loaded with Celestion V30s, featuring a mono/stereo selection for this price?
Incredible bang for buck!
It's a great value cab
Okay, we all know it's not built out of your finest artisanal materials. But it's a decent cab, sporting two V30's at almost the price of v30's alone... The cab does have handles, it's got stereo in case you need it, and all in all it's kinda reasonably generic looking, to not stand out. I've also removed all the logos off the front, which is actually possible to do, and now it looks like this sleak black box :D
But importanly, it sounds pretty good. I play shows with it and rehearse, pairing it with next to my orange 412 cab. And I wouldn't say that it sounds much worse than the orange cab. It can be muddy sometimes, but then you can clean it up with amp settings I think, and I play with a lot of low end, so I get mud either way :D
Beware that if you place something on top, it'll leave permanent (I think) marks into the finish, if that's something you care about in this case :)
2nd cabinet to complete setup
I had one already and after many years of playing it I decided to go for a second one to complete a 2 x 212 setup stereo. These are simply great cabs for Metal. They are darker than Mesa and Engls with V30s, and maybe a bit more scooped, especially comparing to Engls. However, that not a bad thing if you want to chug. I actually prefer them to my Engls with V30s and I would never pay the Mesa crazy moneys despite I use Mesa stuff most of the time. A simply exceptional cab which BTW records great as well. If I want to mention a negative, they might be a bit more quiet on their signal through an SM57 comparing to my Engls. That is.
Best money for price
Thats a very good prise for 2 selestion vintage speakers. In my country only speakers would cost about 200 euros. Used it about a year. Im very satisfied with it.
Beautiful Cabinet Delivered from Germany to USA in 3 Days
I purchased this cabinet because of a video review I saw on youtube by Philip McKnight. I ordered it on a Tuesday and it was delivered all the way from Germany to my house in New Mexico, USA in just 3 days! The cabinet is flawless, beautifully made, and sounds amazing! I am totally pleased with this purchase and plan on using this cabinet probably the rest of my life. If you are considering ordering one don't hesitate because this is one heck of a deal.
Great cab with celestion 30's for this price!
I mean if you would want to buy 2 celestion speakers it would cost as much as this cabinet.
Overall great cab, great sound, no complaints.
solid
this cab is built like a tank and the v30s sound great
