Harley Benton HB-35Plus Cherry Reviews
Great all rounder
Great all round guitar if you like this style, coil splits are cool but dont realy need them, also plays fine unpluggged, quality excellent with no issues however fret board was a bit dry, but after a couple of oilings, a fret polish and new strings it was fine
335 Killer!
This is clearly a 335 killer. When you look at the price of even an Epiphone copy with block inlays, the cost is nearly 1k nowadays. HB does an amazing job here with great quality and lovely sound. THAT sound you get from a 335. Top is beautiful, weight is good and the sound is amazing. With the splittable pickup via a pull push system, ut gives some versatility, although I don't use this feature. I would add that this is the plus model. Get that one! For the little extra money you get a ton more guitar. For the price, this quality cannot be found elsewhere. Fair play to Harley Benton!
Good and versatile guitar
I bought this guitar after watching the youtube review. Well build, good finish. No claims to finish or build quality. Finishing looks much better in reality than on photos. Good setup out of the box. No noise, good action. The only thing i did - i stetted action more low dew to my habits but out of the bot it was good also. It sounds great for this price. I saw better sounding guitars but this one can be easily compared to twice expensive guitars. It has split coils on both pickups so you can set every configuration you need. And nevertheless it is semiacoustic, i tried it on high gain and it was good enough to say that it could be quite universal instrument. Cleans are great to. So If you need instrument for low gain staff but want to experiment with different genres - it could be your choice
Nice price and quality
Nice product, used for two years as second guitar, sounds great, nice tone.
Good choice for pop and blues style musicians. Red color looks great on photos.
Fantastic for the price
Just got this and I must say having watched countless reviews online all praising this guitar's virtues, I have to agree. the build quality and set up out of the box are just fantastic for the price you pay. well actually even it was €200 more expensive I would happily still pay. It's not a hand made guitar with a high end name on it but Harley Benton have put it up to the Epiphones and Squiers of this world. If quality coupled with price is a factor for you, do yourself a favour and seriously consider this guitar.
With the coil tapping option this could become my go to guitar for everything. Plus it looks fantastic.
This guitar cries out "PLAY ME"!
HB-35 Plus, Cherry Red.
If, like me you'd been thinking about buying this guitar for a couple of months but were hesitant... DO IT!
Minimal set up straight out of the box. Beautiful and solid build quality, a luscious red finish, jam packed with great features, responsive pick-ups, the bonus of having 2 coil taps, very playable neck, and a wonderful vintage vibe to it.
Treat yourself!
Great guitar
This guitar is amazing when you concider the price. It came pretty well set up, but I recommend changing the strings immediately. They are of poor quality and difficult to play.
Also some dressing of the fret ends is recommended for more comfort, but not a demand. I find them OK.
I think there isn't possible to find a better guitar for this price, and I highly recommend it to all who wants this type of guitar.
Wow
Beautiful finish on guitar looks like a far more expensive model.plays and sounds great.delivered on time, well packaged.for the price this is a really lovely guitar to add to your collection.
Super Quality Guitar
This Guitar is such a 'steal' at the price. Quality is superb in both looks and sound.
Easily comparable with many better known (and far more expensive!) 'name' guitars.
Although I didn't really need to, I've now 'upgraded' mine (at a reasonably small cost) with some 'Gotoh' Tuners, a Tucq Nut & a 5-Ply 335-Style Pickguard. It now looks and sounds as good as (if not... better than!) many guitars costing much, much more!!
Incredible, Especially for the price
Nigh on perfect finish, gorgeous finish, really nice feel with very little adjustment needed - pretty well set up from the factory.
Gorgeous tonality to it, the pickups sound incredible and with the added versatility of split coils!
Overall an absolutely fantastic instrument, worth every penny!
Great guitars Iâve got two
Quality and price you can’t beat it,well done thonman
Hb35 plus, cherry
The tuners on this guitar were very cheap, some tight to turn, others just spin round. I replaced these with Wilkinson ez locks
Wasn't sure about the pickups for a while, but they grew on me. The coating on the back of the neck could become sticky, so I sanded back a little. I grew to love this guitar after a while
I would now say it's a pretty good guitar, and will be keeping it
Unbelievable value and service
My hb35 plus cherry arrived in good time and in perfect condition.
Tuned up and plugged into my thr10c amp, it sounds fantastic.
I am blown away by the look of this guitar, no photos or videos can portray its true beauty.
I am one very happy customer!
Beautiful, cheap, sounds great
This guitar is just plain... beautiful.
I've wanted an ES-335 style guitar for as long as I have been playing but they were always out of my price range. I didn't want to spend money on a subpar quality guitar either. I've played Epiphone ES-335s, and copies from a tonne of brands. And if I'm honest? This one beats them all.
Aside from the looks, the quality and care is stellar. The split coil function is a serious added bonus. This guitar is quickly becoming my favourite, beating out even my Fender Strat.
Pickups aren't as great as say Seymour Duncans, but it punches so far above its price range that it's crazy. Might swap them out eventually, but I'd be very comfortable taking the guitar gigging as is.
Aside from all that, the guitar is just slightly different from other ES style guitars. Mainly the jack and selector location. They're in the positions of a LS style guitar, being on the side of the body and the top opposite of the pickguard respectively. I much prefer this, and makes me wonder why everyone doesn't do that. The whole control region on an ES style guitar was always much too cluttered for my taste.
Perfect 10/10 for me. Had you have told me it was a 700 dollar guitar I'd have believed you.
semi Guitar Harley Benton HB-35Plus Cherry
sound good, tuoch good, made exelant, perfect guitar.
there is no need to spend so much money for Gibson.
just chang the strings from 0.10 to 0.11 and you will reached a perfet Jaz and Blusey singing sound.
Great Guitar for no money!!!
I wanted a semi-hollow guitar but didn't want to pay $1000.
This guitar was great right out of the box!
It cost me $320 total after shipping.
Unbelievable value!!!!
Easy to play many sounds
I do not play very much but my son is a praise and worship leader in the church. He has Gibsons, Epiphones, Squires and has even built a tele style guitar. He is good at setting action and intonation. He had nothing but praise for this guitar. With the split coils you can get crisp single coil and the warm sounds of the hum bucker. No need to upgrade.
Great guitar!!!
Worth every penny! This guitar is great for the price, sure there are a few minor imperfections on the finish here or there but nothing that you wouldn't find on other guitars of this price or even higher. But overall it's a super capable guitar that sounds amazing. I paid under $300 and that was with shipping from Germany to the U.S so for that price, I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a 335-style guitar!
Value for Money
I have always been interested I. Getting a hollow body guitar and found one that I fairly liked in a guitar shop but waited too long and lost out on it. So I started reading reviews and watching videos and the Harley Benton HB-35 plus kept coming up, with great reviews. I have to say I am always a bit cautious on reviews but at the price o thought I could take the chance and if not for me well I could always sell it on. I have to say firstly one comment that came up a lot in reviews was that sometimes the fine detain on the finish was not great but I have a guitar guy and worst case he could fix that for me. I did not have to worry, maybe I was lucky but mine came with no cosmetic issues at all, a lovely example, with a deep red with a faint wood marble coming through ( not as amazing as it is made out), the feel and the look were just great. I love the Roswell pick ups and with the split function the variety you can get from it, is great. It can come over a little warm in the HB setting but I love that sound so good for me. All in all I can not recommend enough, for the price it is a great guitar.
In love with this
It is just so damn good !
Fell in love when i opened the box...but wasnt too sure about it when i ordered it (as I was eyeing the lemon drop). The sounds blew me away. AMAZING features, well built and good finish.
problems: D string doesnt want to stay in tune (got
locking tuners which i may swap soon, as well as a graphtech nut).
a bit of bad finishing on the scale (scrapes on upper side of the neck in the binding are very visible and easily felt), three way switch nut has rust on it, fret board was quite dirty (needed to really clean it my finger tips turned black after the first time i played it) and dry (oiled twice).
no fret ends, very well set up and a joy to play. great tones for something for this price and great color too !
cannot complain too much
