Should be framed.

Older Lefty Learner, watched and read many reviews on this stunning guitar and thought at this price point it's worth a go. WOW, it's beautiful. Came very well packaged, no flaws and once tuned it sounds great. Would certainly recommend Harley Benton as a supplier of quality guitars, at a very competitive price. This will not be my last HB guitar.

Ready to play!

No need for any kind of setup. A quick tune and this beautiful guitar was good to go. Not easy for lefties to find great guitars. Unbelievable guitar for this price range...or any price range actually.

Wow

I'm pushing 70 and have only started to play 6 months ago, due to covid etc, so I know very little about guitars, hence my reluctance to comment on the equipment and the 14 or 15 left handed guitars I have bought from Harley Benton over the recent few years. That said, when I recieved my HB35 + yesterday I was to say impressed at the very least. I tend to ignore the bull of advertising and I have to admit this time I was completely wrong. It is not only beautiful to look at, with the grain showing through, it sounds wonderful as well, the only thing I had to do was lower the action and wow, even my wife who normally doesn't remark on my kit, was impressed, high praise indeed.

This deal cannot be beat.........Period!!!!

Would just like to let it be known, this guitar is by far the best semi I have ever played. It came to me already set up to play, almost no setting up to do. Trust me, unless this was just a fluke or an act of god, this guitar is just made right!!

Excellent guitar.

This guitar sounds as beautiful as it looks. Red isn’t my favorite color by far, but this guitar looks, sounds, and plays amazing. The thing stays in tune real well to. It far exceeded my expectations. I am now wanting to try more Harley Benton’s.

Great lefty 335-a-like

I've gigged with it without any worries, it's built like a tank. I'm really not a humbucker guy (p90s all the way) but needed something with HBs for those times that sound is required. The coil tap option is good and actually gives usable tones, and the roswells are decent a5 pickups. I get a lot of jump, swing, rockabilly gigs so I don't go too gainy; more like a tweed just breaking up. The pickups sound full and sweet with that nasal thing to me.

Only con I can think of it that it's heavier than it looks - similar to a les paul in weight. Recommend a wider strap if you're going to stand with it hanging off your shoulder for 2-3 hours...

Stunning it's got the wow factor.

Received the guitar yesterday, it's stunning not a flaw anywhere, sounds fantastic well worth the money, set up was spot on just needed tuning as a couple of strings were slightly out and its kept in tune since, very pleased would recommend as you won't get this quality and sound for the price anywhere else.

All the guitar you may ever need

Right from the moment you open the well packed double box, the HB35plus Cherry impresses with its great looks. The nice low action and silky smooth neck will keep you playing longer than you thought you'd be.

Rockabilly, blues, rock and roll, and some heavy rock are covered. Folk and acoustic work is covered, too.

Great value for the money. The one thing is that mine arrived with a lot of factory grit on the frets. A quick polishing and string change and it impresses me even more! A big thumbs up from this lefty!

A steal...

The budget guitars surely improved over the past years. This thing is phenomenal for the price. Now I expected a flaw here and there, and the only things I could find were 2 block inlays mislplaced a bit from the center and a tiny, almost unnoticeable rough edge in one f hole that can easily be smoothened.

The setup is decent, action is good. I had to adjust the intonation a bit.

The sound is absolutely amazing, it is a 355 style fat but present tone especially on the neck pickup. The added coil split options are a big surprise too, getting a "strat" style tone easily. Prior to receiving the guitar I already failed a blind test so I knew it will sound good.

Pots are decent. Volume pots could have a bit more resiststance to them. The only con is, similar to HB bass I have, the tone knob sound changes very exponentially. From 1-9 sounds keep changing only at around 7. Considering the fact its the same problem as with their tele-bass clone I have, they are obviously choosing wrong pots, or have an enormous batch of wrong ones they need to lose... Its not personally a big issue to me.

All in all, considering the price point the guitar is a steal and most importantly worth investing more to make it even better.

Great value! Pick-up switch is in a rather odd place

This is my second Harley Benton and it's really amazing value. I had to do a little adjustment; raising the pickups and lowering the high string action. There are a couple of minor "issues" - firstly, the pickups aren't horizontal; if they were, they could be raised a bit more. Secondly, the pickup selector switch is quite easy to hit accidentally when strumming. I'm not sure why it's there; on the Gibson/Epiphone 335, it's below the strings amongst the volume/tone knobs and much harder to hit by mistake.

Unbelievable for the price

After reading all the other reviews I decided to get this and have no regrets at all

First HB guitar - Amazing quality and value for money - Charging way too little

So this is my first Harley Benton guitar, ordered on a saturday and arrived in ireland on the following monday. Well packaged and secure, when i opened the box i was surprised by the lovely colour of the body and binding, its more of a brighter red than cherry, and the flame stripe is much more noticeable than the website photos show, even though its subtle at the same time. Really nice knobs and controls, good feel to them and the humbucker covers are really shiny, not a single mark or imperfection on the body either, perfect paint and finish.

The fretboard is also noticeably lighter coloured than the website photos and its gorgeous too, as are the tuners and headstock. The f holes are nicely shaped, although the wiring loom is visible through the top one, i assume i can just tuck it away but its also very well done with tightly bounded connectors and neat arrangement.

It sounds fantastic both acoustically and when plugged in, with a wide range of tones achievable with the two split coil options and Prs-Esque knobs. In the box was the QC check card and surprisingly, a free guitar chord, one with an L shaped end, which i hadn't thought of, the ones in the house are all straight ended and this is much better.

So yeah, if you want a guitar that looks like an Epiphone/Gibson 335, or in our case a Gretsch Electromatic Hollowbody in a hard tail configuration, this is definitely the one to go for.

Quality

I've wanted a hollow body guitar for a while and this HB-35 feels and plays beautifully and a great price. I've had it for a few months now and still love playing it the quality is amazing. 😃✌

Great value for money

Watch most reviews of this guitar on youtube and you'll see exactly what this guitar is like. Is it a high-end instrument? No, but it is a well made guitar that achieves a nice sound and playability for a very reasonable cost. The fretboard is a little rough, the frets are also a little rough, there is some cosmetic issues with the paint and some glue residue that shows on the bindings, and forget about this being AAAA rated maple top...maybe a AA rated. Still, overall a nice looking guitar, seems well made, plays really nice. Great guitar for the money.

Great guitar for the money

Is it perfect....no, bridge and tailpiece are average, tuners are okay, pickups are decent, frets are a bit scratchy and need a bit of TLC. But if you're wiling to spend a bit of time on it you'll be rewarded with a really nice guitar. If you're thinking of buying one, do it, it's worth every penny.

Excellent quality and sound. The independent coil splitting is awesome!
