Harley Benton HB-20R 5-stars Reviews
great starter amp.
this amp represents great value for a 1st amp,i bought it to get grand daughter into electric guitar and it fits the purpose great,im an experienced guitarist so i know my amps and i will say that on the gain channel anything more than 1/4 gain and it sounds dreadful,on clean channel its good and the reverb is good too,HOWEVER these amps have a standy by green light function which will only work when guitars connected and when you start strumming.....SO you gotta strum a few times to go from green light on standby to red light on opereation to get sound otherwise it wont work,
Great little Practice amp
Recently purchased this with a new guitar after many years of not playing, and and very impressed by the amps feature set. Stuck an overdrive peddle infront of it, and was blown away by how good it sounded for such a small amp. Very impressed, great value for a beginner or someone just looking for a practice amp.
Great sounding amp
This amp sounds great and it including an overdrive setting is even better, I enjoy being able to switch between clean and OD tones.
Truly a great amp!
Great practice amp
Got this as part of a bundle, surprised by the great quality and sound. Would thoroughly recommended this amp to anybody
Definitely purchase!!!
A compact device, but at the same time pumps rooms with a large area. It sounds clean, you can build a good overdrive from the features, but when switching to pure sound, you have to retrain, so I leave this review! In such a price range it is almost impossible to find a competitor!
About HB-20R
A good combo booster to start with. A little phonetic, but it will do for beginners, especially at this price.
Great
The amp works great sounds amazing
Good thing it comes in two boxes to avoid damage
Absolutely Delighted But Beware Of Power Issues Outside Europe
My Harley Benton HB-20R Combo arrived in Australia from Europe quickly, and well packaged. I'm absolutely delighted with the quality and tone of this amplifier combo. I thought about getting a Harley Benton TUBE15 Celestion tube combo, but opted for this much cheaper HB-20R combo, plus a Positive Grid Spark Pearl Amp a modelling amplifier. More than enough options to meet my humble needs.
However, beware that the HB-20R comes with a European earthed power input plug. It needs a Power Source of 230V 50Hz, which is fine for here in Australia. (Australia is officially 230V 50Hz, but most supplies are actually 240V 50Hz.) If you're in the UK or Australia, you're going to need to use a plug adapter, or cut the European plug off and replace it with a local one (probably voiding your warranty). In the USA you're also going to need a step-up power transformer.
Harley Benton HB-20R
I love it , it has a very high sounds but the quality of the sound isn't good enough
Nice amp for the price
Its about 70 euro, and has a lot of options. I dont need more so its great. Its also really loud
Great combo
Sound is good. Yeah. Just a good combo for the home studying.
Good quality
The amp looks and sounds really good. The effects sound great.
Great practice amp
buy this amp and u will be happy playing and practicing guitar instead of worring about sound
Bought for training
I don't like the fact that the combo amplifier creates unnecessary noise if you don't play the guitar, but it's suitable for beginners, I'm very happy with the purchase
With love from Russia
Excellent for its value
this is my first combo amp and it fully justifies itself
Nice Combo
Nice combo for this price, but so weight
Great at this price point.
I got this to use in my home only, while I practice and learn, and just generally mess around.
Another reviewer, also a beginner, said that this surprised them with how loud this is. I absolutely agree, it has an impressive oomph to it.
I thought the overdrive and reverb are both excellent, and both responded well when increasing and decreasing on the amp itself.
Clean sounds lovely, just what I'd hoped for.
I had initially thought I'd probably need or want to upgrade this amp as soon as money allowed, but having now used it I won't be in any rush, and I'd rather spend that money on a multi-effects pedal.
The only con I can think of is it would be nice to have an arm at the back to be able to tilt the amp upwards when it's on the floor.
To sum up I would say this is great at this price, for a practice amp to use at home. If you want better, or a more 'gig' suitable amp, then you'll need to pay much more than what this costs.
Cheap and Good
There's everything I wanted but I wish there would be more specific settings
i use it at home and it is more than enough for playing at home.
pros:
sound loudness and quality
3,5 mm jack for earphones/headphones
cons:
no accumulator for playing on the street
HB20-R amp bought for SC-450Plus
Decided to get a new amp with my new guitar, though there was no point in upgrading the guitar and still having the old cheap amp. Sounds good with my new SC-450. plugged in my old guitar to see if I could tell the difference. Absolutely, makes it sound like a much better guitar so I was very happy that it was right to upgrade the amp too.
3.5mm headphone and line in sockets so I can use other headphones etc without adaptor as i only have the one.
Power saving mode which is nice and didn't expect.
Feels nice and seems good quality finish.
