Harley Benton JB-75MN NA Vintage Series 4-stars Reviews
Excellent value for the money.
What a machine for the money. Amazing modding platform.
Awesome bass
I liked this very much, the whole sound of it was the same of my other JB, I had only one small issue with this instrument: it was quite heavy for me.
Budget-friendly and very well crafted
Iâm not a professional bass player, but I am working with live sound pretty often. This instrument gives very deep and wide range of sound, which is great. The only huge problem this instrument got is the weight. My back hurts after playing 10 minutes standing with a strap. While this guitar is incredibly organic and comfortable to play, the weight kills it all. Iâd recommend to make it 1kg lighter - and itâll become an ultimate player bass
Great build, inferior electronics
Changing the pickups for something more reliable will make this bass a beast. the build is top top class, finish and ergonomics are perfect, my pickups just lost about 50 percent of it's power.
Great bass (but heavy)
Excellent, beautiful and well made bass. I play metal on it, so I changed the strings and tuned it down to A tuning. It sounds good.
The only negative is its weight. The bass is quite heavy. This makes my back hurt
Great Beginner Bass
I got this item not too long ago as my first adventure into the realm of the Bass Guitar. It’s incredible how little you pay for products from HB, but how amazing the quality of the products are. If you’re an aspiring Bassist or you want a bass to mess around with as a mod platform, I heavily recommend this! Thanks HB
Well made bass
It is a bit heavy. The neck is well finished and the sound is good for that price range.
Great bass, but too heavy for comfort
This bass is incredible value for money. The build quality, pickups, action and finish are all better that you might expect at the price. There is only one negative, but unfortunately a big one - the weight! Mine is bang on 5kg (a shade over 11 pounds) which is definitely heading into the boat anchor territory and I would not want to be gigging with it for that reason alone. Even with a decent quality wide padded strap it gets uncomfortable pretty quickly. Other than that I can't fault it.
Great, except for one small thing
Really nice, the build quality surprised me. The neck has a lovely finish, and it feels good to play. There's was just one small problem build-wise, the scratch plate is a bit warped near the screws, and there was some saw dust under there, pushing the scratch plate upwards a little bit.
Great Bass For The Money!
It's my first HB bass and I'm quite happy about it! Yeah, this bass is not perfect, but for the price it is really good! Similar basses from different companies could ask for their basses up to 300 or maybe 400 euro sometimes. If you always wanted to try Jazz bass - this one would be a great choice!
The only big minus I found it's the weight of the bass...It is really heavy and I'm not kidding. My leg starts to hurt after a long play usually...So if you are a skinny guy or a girl think about it before you buy it :D
But the other features, sound, quality is on a good level! Definitely recommend to buy!
stylish!
I've never played a bass before, so I don't have anything to compare the feel and sound to, but it's just a joy to play.
removing the protective film is a bit tough, some screws are screwed in a little unevenly, but overall the instrument is beautiful
Amazing JB
Amazing to play and very good sound.
I was looking for a Jazz Bass to start after playing guitar for 2 years and it is an amazing product.
The only drawback is its heavy weight but that was not a surprise as it's mentioned on the reviews you can find online.
Heavy bass. I gave it
Quality was excellent had a real growl that I loved and miss on my fender but as other reviews have warned was just too heavy.
It's a jazz bass
I was really surprised when I plugged it in for the first time.
This feels/looks/sounds and plays like a higher end jazz bass.
All the hardware feels good
The roswell pickups sound pretty nice and they don't really buzz or hum to bad either.
There was no fretsprout or anything and the only setup I had to do was to adjust the truss rod a touch to lower the action.
I'm so happy about the natural finish on this thing, it looks absolutely beautiful.
It's is a bit on the heavier side when it comes to weight but I actually like that.
It's a jazz bass folks.
I don't really know what else to say.
Love it!
I love the finish!
But you should be aware that the level of quality of HB's can vary!
My new jb-75 in natural finish should be pretty much like my jb-75 in sunburst.
No way.. I have sanded frets and worked on intonation and trussrod, but.. Maybe I can make it play like its sunburst "brother".. My conclusion is that there are variations within the Harley Benton spectrum.. From "Fantastic" to "OK, but need some work"..

About this bass
So, in my opinion this is the best, what you can buy for that money. This is my first bass, and i'm pleased with the purchase
Good, but could be better...
Bought as a spare bass in summer 2021
Amazing for the price
Fit and finish is great.
Looks like a £300+ bass
She's Heavy!
Holds tune well.
Slight tweak to set up made it really nice to play
MY ONLY ISSUE
Cavities within body are not shielded!
Terrible hum when not touching strings.
Solved this evening with patience and some 20mm wide copper tape.
I could gig this now...
Love the look, love the tone, love the price
Glad I bought it!
Great budget Jazz bass
Was really impressed with the bass straight out of the box and it only needed a bit of tweaking to get it playing great. Finish on bass is fantastic for the price and while neck is a bit thick for my preference it feels fine and the pups do the job. Highly recommended.
Awesome first bass for an awesome price!
+ Great bass to start off your bass-playing career.
+ Being a jazz bass you can get a number of different tones out of the instrument.
Great if you can take the weight
Looks, sounds and plays great.
My only gripe is the weight. Mine is 5.4 kg which is definitely on the heavy side. With a fancy Neotech strap I can stand for max an hour before my shoulder complains.
Edit: after two years of use, I'm still loving this bass. Since I've begun gigging, I have also bought a nice lightweight Fender which was five times the price, but I still play the the Harley Benton regularly. My original plan was to sell the JB-75, but in the end I could part with it - partly because it has such a rich, growly tone that my Fender can't recreate. So I've put flats on the Fender and still have the original roundwounds on the Harley Benton which together give me a nice selection of tones.
