Harley Benton B-30BK Acoustic Bass Series 4-stars Reviews
Acou-Sick bass
I bought this bass as something to jam with friends in a field with a few drinks and it has exceeded my expectations.
It is very well made, solid with a good set up and nice fretwork.
It is loud enough to play acoustically with a pick for a jam with two other guitars, I don't know how it would fare in a gig setting without an amp but for a few people in a room it's perfect.
The tuner can be a little all over the place with the low E string but it's close enough and expected with most tuners.
Practical and Good Sound
I purchased this bass because I wanted a cheap bass laying around the house I could pick up and play for fun every now and then. I went with acoustic because I didn't want to need to lug around an amp to get a bit of sound. Even tho Acoustic basses are known for not sounding very loud.
Due to the price I wasn't expecting much. But I found it looks, feels and sounds pretty reasonably. I was not disappointed.
Also, it comes with a built in tuner and the picked sounded great plugged in, in my opinion!
Excellent value for money
I bought this with the intention of learning bass guitar. I am happy with the sound out of it though it could probably be improved by replacing the strings that come with it. The pickups are satisfactory. Decent acoustic-electric bass at an affordable price.
Good beginner acoustic bass
I am satisfied with the Harley Benton B-30BK Acoustic Bass. I bought it as a beginner bass. I play acoustic guitar normally and always wanted to try bass. This is a good value for money entry bass. Of course you can get a better sound if you spend more money but for beginners it's perfect. Since it's a semi acoustic bass, you can also plug it to an amplifier. I tried that too and the sound is fine. It has build-in tuner which is a nice feature too. I can commend this bass.
Great for the money
I expected less than I got and I was plesantly surprised. It has a really nice neck and feels good to play. The paint is nice there are no signs of glue or any unfinished corners.
It's not as loud as I expected but I might have expected too much compared to an acoustic guitar. But still nothing a small amp couldn't fix.
Great for outdoor summer jams!
Solid bass for a fair price
I've had this bass for quiet a while now, and it has been a good companion so far.
As most acoustic basses have trouble catching up to acoustic guitars/banjos/etc so does this bass, but with the build in pick-up-system you always have the option to amplify it. Trough an amp the bass sounds decent, and it's 3-band-eq helps shaping the sound.
I exchanged the factory strings very soon, as they became very mellow. With good strings for acoustic basses you can get a decent boost in sound and loudness.
The bass offers features one wouldn't expect for such a price, and if you're looking for a acoustic bass to get a different tone from your all-electric-bass this one is a good choice
Acoustic Bass
Hard to beat at this price.
