Harley Benton TE-20 BK Standard Series 5-stars Reviews
Nice guitar, bot only for a beginner
Interesting choice for low-budget setup. Nice sound, bright with cozy low frequencies. There is some noise from guitar, but it's a base for single pickups. Only one thing isn't comfortable - bridge tuning. It'll be better to have a separate spring for each string. It'll help to tune guitar properly on every fret. Fretboard in great, it don't have anything to complain about it.
Nice job, thanks a lot for a cheap guitar with great quality.
GREAT GUITAR
Absolutely amazed with this one, it had a little fret sprout when it first made it to me, but that went away. After a $40 setup, this thing plays so well I can't put it down. You just cannot get a better guitar for this price. It's awesome.
Best cheap guitar I've ever bought.
I have 16 guitars ranging in value from under £100 to several thousand £. This is my cheapest and is also my "go to" guitar. I originally bought it for my son but I ended up keeping it. I'm back to buy abother!
Amazing!!!
I bought this as well as the St62 and CST24 and all punched well above their weight. Sound, feel, and even setup came almost perfect. I just bought two more, and I've been recommending these to all my friends, more than worth the money.
Bought it to rebuildâ¦
I bought this guitar specifically to dismantle and rebuild, after modification, as a tenor guitar. Neck width reduced, 2 machine heads removed, bridge and nut replaced. Pickups changed. All works a treat. Very happy with my first experiment
Great base model Tele
This base model Tele sounds great and plays very well. Everyone says how Teles feel easy/fun to play and I can see what they mean with this guitar. No tummy cut, but still molds to your body well.
Nice!
Good guitar! Can't be better for this money!
Great Tele!
what a value! Have a comparable tele squier bullet and quality and sound quality even if not better with harley at a fraction of the cost.
I am not a guitar player, and bought this guitar to learn and explore .
Plays good and has a nice feeling
I've played mainly acoustics so started to get into electric guitars and bought myself a Squier Bullet Mustang another cheap and cheerful guitar. Problem was with the Humbuckers i couldn't really get a clean sound. This telecaster has solved that problem and has a beautiful range of good clean sounds. The stock pick ups are decent enough and suffice plenty, of course an upgrade is always optional but i'm not in a hurry to change the stock pups at the moment.
The quality of workmanship on the guitar for the price is outstanding. I was expecting to have to do alot of things to the guitar to make it playable but it came out of the box playable and all in order, no sharp frets, so buzzes or dead frets etc. I tweaked it a little to lower the action and decided to replace the nut because i wanted a little bit lower action at the nut. What was good was the nut slot was cut very well and symmetrical so it was easy putting a bone nut into it.
I'm absolutely delighted with the guitar, I have a high end Gibson hanging on the wall, a couple of high end guilds, a mid range Ibanez hollow Body, Squier Bullet mustang and a couple of others and this Telecaster is not out of place ...its a great guitar and that is stock .. hope this helps. You won't be disappointed.
Nice nice,
How do they do it, good build for the Price, WOW-ser.
very good instrument for that price
Great value for the money
Really good quality for this price. The hardware stays in tune all the time and the neck is comfortable to play on. A bit heavy so I would recommend it for bigger guys.
Awesome
It's amazing what you can get for 90 e. The guitar is awesome, even compared to my 1000 e Ibanez I honestly don't really mind which one I pick up.. well for metal stuff there's no contention due to the basic single coil pickups. Neck is great to play, sounds good.
Only negatives to mention was very mildly sharp fret endings and a nick in the bridge just where one of the strings lied (potentially could cause string breakage).
I did some basic mods to it just for fun, which really didn't change the guitar that much but while doing it I also got to see the insides of it and all the wiring, soldering etc. was very well done.
Probably the best 90 e I've ever spent.
Boom!!
I thought I made a mistake of buying it coz the strings weren't that good. But you replaced the stock strings, you will know the guitar was really made well.
Surprisingly well built for low price
I bought this guitar to play indie style music but didn't have too much money. I'll say straight off the bat, its great for the money. The pickups sound great, particularly the neck position and will provide sounds that'll cover rock, indie, pop, funk and ambient. For obvious reasons, this guitar isn't designed for heavier music so hard rock, metal and beyond isn't really achievable with the lower output pickups which comes from the guitar's classic design and specs. However, for cleaner genres, the guitar works significantly well.
Pros:
- Neck feels smooth, no chippings.
- No issues with finish.
- Frets and fret board feel great.
Cons:
- Can sometimes wave in and out of tune (bear in mind that I pick hard which may contribute to this issue).
- Toggle switch has been bent (presumably during shipping).
Decent guitar;
Only negatives are its a little heavy and had 3 slightly high frets but easy enough to fix.
Such a good guitar
When I made the decision to purchase this guitar I was very hesitant about the quality and sound at such a low price. I pulled the trigger and wow, glad I did. The quality was so good out of the box I was blown away. Not a blemish anywhere on the guitar. The neck felt good, the weight was right for me and the overall feel was very good. Plugged in was the highlight for me. While no fender in sound, the pickups were so good I will not be changing them out. I can achieve any sound I want with tweaks to the volume, tone and amp here and there. It has the twang of a tele as with the looks.
I have changed the strings to Ernie ball 10s and levelled up a few frets and that's it. I don't feel I need to go any further.
All in all a great guitar for the budget conscious or regular noodler like myself.
I intend to buy another to see if I jagged a good one or not.
My recommendation is to buy it buy it
Great sound, great workmanship
For the money, you can't beat this guitar! While the fretboard was incredibly dry (to be expected), the rest of the guitar feels and plays so smoothly. One of the best features on this guitar is the capped frets! At this price point, I can't think of another manufacturer that caps them. The tone on this can't be beat. I has all the biting twang you could want from a TE copy!
Great quality guitar
Very pleased with the guitar. Well packaged, quickly delivered, no faults or damage. Neck very well finished, body routing very clean, electrics tidy and reasonable quality. Light and easy to play. At this price these are really great guitars for beginners to intermediate. I preferred a black pickguard so purchased a generic replacement and fitted this. Nice guitar to keep knocking around the lounge for whenever you fancy a play.
Highly recommend. I also have the TE-30 and the TE-52. All of these are likewise excellent.
