Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series Reviews
WOW! JUST WOW
Hands down, for the money, you can't beat this guitar! After unboxing, and tuning it up, I started playing. The intonation was perfect! I stretched the strings a bit, re-tuned, and she stays in tune perfectly. Tuners are smooth. Sounds great through my little home practice amp nice twang and bite, everything you'd expect from this style guitar. Some people have commented that the guitar is heavy, and it is, but I don't think it's to bad. The only other thing is the frets on mine were a bit rough, but I'll file the ends and polish the tops when I change the strings. Really glad I bought this guitar!!
Fender Spec with modern parts
A wonderful guitar manufactured to the original Fender specification. Plays and sounds just as a telecaster should. Have played Fender branded telecasters and the sound is just as good. The only downside, is that it is a little heavier than its Fender equivalents. Needed no setup on delivery and the strings it comes with have lasted well. Neck is a good thickness and shape in the hand. I wish Iâd bought one sooner!
Great Tele
I love this telecaster, the way it looks to the way it sounds. I even love the weight
A surprisingly good guitar, especially considering the pricetag
I bought this guitar after watching some reviews on the internet.
I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. For 160 Euros, you get a chunky heavy and very resonant guitar. The wood is dense, not soft, which I like. The neck is very stable.
I bought this guitar to upgrade it to a high quality instrument.
Mods:
Installed Gotoh tuners, a Gotoh bridge, Gotoh TLB-1 String Ferrules, an Allparts Retrofit Jackplate T-Style, a SwitchCraft jack, a self-made bone-nut, a DiMarzio 3-position switch, a DiMarzio Area Hot T DP421 noiseless bridge pickup, a Seymour Duncan SH-55 for the neck, which balances very well with the DiMarzio, new pots and matching knobs and for less than 600 Euro you have a guitar that sounds better than an entry-level Fender for 750 or higher.
A little bit of criticism: the neck is straight, the fret material is also high quality, but you need to level the frets to make the action acceptable. I know how to do it, people who don't know would need a luthier to give these guitars a professional setup.
Great for your money
Nice guitar. Great appearance. The quality of the instrument is excellent. The vibration of the strings is felt like on an acoustic. For your money you can say this is top.
Great guitar
Heavy but in a good way, feels like quality , and looks great. It has good sound
TE52 NA
The quality of this instrument is absolutely amazing!
Panically good !!!
Excellent build and sound quality. Completely justifies its price. I recommend.
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If i knew the quality i would order it years before. So high end in so low price
I keep getting back to it all the time.
Was really nice addition. Already had Gibson les Paul trad. and Epiphone Emperor Swingster, still can going back to this one.
Telecaster is such a nice guitar all and all and this one feels really good. I had no experience with other telecasters though.
Wow what a killer guitar
I bought this for a recording needing a tele sound not expecting much but boy was i surprised.Totally blown away with overall playability and tone.I did polish the frets up and a basic setup.Front pickup is a little muddy but rectified with amo settings.Fantastic guitar for the money awesome tones.
Truly Great for the price !
All my expensive Guitars have been sold i now have 3 Harley Bentons
They all are as good as my expensive guitars were for a fraction of the price
100% & 5 stars from me !
Nice for what you pay
Introduction:
I have always wanted a fender telecaster guitar. However, this one is good budget buy.
Rationale:
The finish has many flaws and scratches on the body when I received the guitar.
I had to changes many parts to make this guitar looks and sound better.
I changed tuner locks too. It was loosing the tune.
Conclusion
I would recommend it if you don’t want to spend much on a telecaster.
Sooooo heavy
Would be perfect but its nearly 11 pounds. Otherwise great guitar.
Better than any fender
Honestly, i can say by far this is the best telecaster i have ever played, the way the neck feels, the pickups and the overall playability is second to none, and for this price point it is almost criminal to sell such an amazing guitar at this price, compared to other telecasters i have owned/played, this is by far the best.
Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series
Nice ,sound good and not $$$
Best budget tele
Great player, great modder. On the heavy side, like a classic.
This sounds exactly like a tele.
I played a 83 telecaster since 1991.
I killed it . The truss rod is stripped, the neck is unfixable. The fretts look like someone melted them. And God do I miss it.
I saw just a picture of the Harley Benton, and it was so pretty, when I found out what the price was , of course I was like "bullshit" I watched hundreds of videos on YouTube about this guitar and couldn't believe how good it sounded. So I said, the hell with it, I'm gonna buy it , I have nothing to lose.
It's been one year later and I really love this guitar it sounds exactly like a tele. It plays exactly like a tele . The 12th frett markers are the same as a 52 tele which I think I'm the only one to notice I have all kinds of really high quality brand name guitars I don't need to mention. And this guitar sits proudly among them . Best $200 I ever spent (that's with the shipping)
And I want to mention I haven't changed a single part. Just a little neck adjustment and lowered the action a little. Plays like a dream. It's in my top five favorite guitars that I own.
Don't be me
By introduction I am a novice guitar player. I loved the sound of Tele style guitars so I spent a lot of time researching beginner models, reading reviews and watching and listening to what experienced players from around the world thought about these instruments. The TE-52 became my favorite. I hesitated on buying it because of the shipping cost from Europe and ended up with another , similarly priced model. It works well and I like it. Several months later I purchased a TE-52 NA vintage . It is beautiful and this one I love. The fit, finish and quality makes me smile when I'm around it. The setup and neck are perfect and it plays and sounds great. I've been told this by a real guitar player who has decades of experience and who recieved it as a gift. This guitar is an awesome deal even with the shipping. You're worth it. Don't be me.
Heavy with a capital H-E-A-V-Y
13-14 pounds brand new. It's solid ash (2 piece) with fender thickness. The finish is nice and clear compared to the muddy Squiers in the same price range. I've had it for 2 years and haven't quite bonded. I ended up routing cavities in the back of the body to relieve ~4-5 pounds of weight.... i played one show with it and got a neck ache from the strap...
Sounds like a tele-- a bit thin but it takes distortion well. 60 cycle hum is definitely there at high volumes lol
