Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series Reviews
I was shocked
wow what a great guitar, looks and build quality are really good. the sound is good too, the neck has a nice feel, no sharp fret ends, no heavy varnish. if i was to be really picky the only things that could be better are the frets polished and a better quality 3 way switch. i would recommend anyone buying this guitar, straight out of the box after a quick tune i was happily playing away. 8.5 out of 10.
Good guitar
I've definitely always wanted a Telecaster, and this guitar totally delivers in looks and sound. There were no problems with delivery, the guitar arrived safely. Sounds good, even better on overdrive. Completely satisfied with the purchase
Perfect feel, pickups and knobs
Very perfect feeling and good finish touch. Pickups are very adaptive to what you are playing and expecting. The knobs are very soft and love the plastic instead of metals. Not a heavy guitar at all. Love what i play and hear daily. I play in my effect box or in my amplifier directly.
This is a GREAT guitar.
I've been a pro/semi pro musician for more than thirty years. This is my third HB guitar and it doesn't disappoint. I bought it to play blues with (It's a heavier body) BUT...plot twist ... As soon as I plugged it in I knew this was an ideal jazz guitar. I keep thinking "I'll buy one and mod it "... but they are just too good to mess with ... The pickups are actually really good .. I've gigged this guitar and recorded with it ... WOW! ... Just get one while there are ones to get!
Incredible!
What do you expect when you buy a guitar for EUR 159? Well, definitely not this. This guitar is absolutely brilliant. The pickups will need replacing as I they don´t have as much definition as I like and get lost in the full band sound as a result. I might look at a bridge with brass rather than steel, but that´s about it. But the instrument itself is absolutely stunning. The nexk is perfect and the frets are absolutely beautifully worked. I really did not expect this quality at this price. Acoustically vibrant and full, plugged in only an issue with the pickups. If you are looking for a good, no-nonsense Telecaster for very little money, this is the one.
A little heavy but sounds great
It's definitely on the hefty side with the ash body, but that classic tele tone can't be beat
Flawless
This T Style impressed me with its flawless build quality and gorgeous sound. The guitar arrived perfectly adjusted and only needed minor tuning. While the finish has a slighttly stronger orange hue than the product photos suggested, it's still a beautiful instrument with beautiful natural wood marks. I find myself reaching for it more than even my more expensive guitars.
Absolute Gem!
I've been playing guitar for around 50 years. I've bought every main brand, with the odd collectors item - 1962 Gibson 330 - 1969 Gibson 345 Stereo - several Les Pauls and numerous Fender's... and the odd Eye candy piece just for posing, all of which I've ended up selling for a number of reasons... "No more", I said to myself. " I'm going to buy something, that if I have to sell it, it won't be such a hardship to lose. So I bought a Harley Benton TE 52 NA Vintage Series. WOW! This has to be one of the best guitar buys I've ever made! The feel and action is amazing. The pick's sound great! And to add icing on the cake, It looks amazing. It arrived when promised, and in immaculate condition! If only all customer service was like thisâ¦
Brilliant
Canât be beaten at this price
Teletastic
This guitar is exceptional, its vintage pick ups sound so original. the swamp ash is amazing with superb graining and gloss finish. The maple neck is fast and smooth. i would recommend this guitar to any giging musician a solid and sturdy guitar for very little money.
Terrific Value, as ever.
I've owned a few HB's over the last few years, all great guitars and unbelievably good for the price. This follows that trend with a couple of small irritants that could easily be rectified. As everyone says, it's heavy, but I don't mind that so much. Fit and finish great, except for two things: The tuners are "vintage" type, which means no hole through the side of the shaft so you have to stick the end of the string in the hole down through the centre. I've never been a fan of these, but with this version the hole isn't very deep so it's all but impossible, without the aid of a matchstick-as-plug, to keep the thinner strings in place whilst wrapping them round the pegs. Not ideal if you break strings regularly at gigs. Secondly, the ferrules on the back for the through body stringing are very loose in their holes, and simply fall out if there's not a string to hold them in place. Again, not great if you break a string gigging, and the ferrule falls out on stage. Maybe that's why they give you the option of stringing through the rear of the bridge assembly itself....... The right size holes would help immensely. I took the drop of superglue approach. Anyway, other than those minor problems, all fine. Action out of the box needed lowering a lot (and I don't like a particularly low action), but intonation was pretty much as good as it gets from the 3-saddle vintage-style bridge assembly without need for adjustment. The fingerboard is quite patchy in colour, but not unattractive. So a solid four stars.
well this guitar came as described .Everything is ok except the pick up switch which was a little bend...i fixed it with my hand, action is a bit high , the body is a 2 piece .The fretboard is perfect like my Fender p bass ..i would say excellent ...the total finish of the guitar is very good..way better than a squire ...the sound is GREAT..really this guitar is perfect for this price...actually it is in par with 500euro range guitars...get it now dont hesitate...
Why pay more
Does the job great value
Great value and play's really well.
I have made and designed many of my own guitars but find it almost impossible to beat the value of this guitar. From the neck to the glossy thick finish the guitar is really hard to beat.
Excellent beginner guitar
Guitar required the frets to be given a good polish. Had to shim neck to accommodate replacement saddles. Guitar is very bright acoustically (wood?) bridge pickup also very bright - doesn't suit. Tuners are awful and need replacing. Guitar plays well after setup. Great option for a beginner.
fantastic Guitar
love the chunky neck , quality , finish suberb
Far exceeded expectations
Arrived in perfect condition, very nicely set up from the box. A very believable Tele tone from both pickups! Haven't put it down since it arrived. Really nice guitar for the money, absolutely no complaints
Dont expect much, however good for its price
Built quality is perfect for me, looks/ feel v good, however for me a bit to much noise (hum) which comparing to other guitars do not let me record nice clean signal. Not sure if its only mine or its typical for this guitar. I played few hours on Fender squier and I think was better than HB however, there is no much competition in this price range.
Very Good For The Price
I actually quite like the guitar. The wooden body is solid and the tone is pretty good. The only downside is the neck. The frets on mine were very rough. That said, an hour with a fret file on the edges and it felt rather nice. If you want a Tele style guitar for very little money I don't think you can do better.
Good cost performance but way too heavy
For this price not much you can complain about. Overall well made. Looking sharp and sound is good. Personally just found it too heavy to play comfortably for more than 20mins, whether standing or sitting. Note that the "caramelized maple" neck is significantly darker than flamed maple.
