Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series Reviews
Amazed!!
Out to box this guitar was amazing. The set up was perfect for me. I've paid a lot more for guitars that can't touch this one. The sound and feel are great. I can't put it down.
Solid, I would gig with this for a lifetime.
This guitar is my first tele style and I am pleased to say the least. Action is good ,play ability is stellar. I am amazed...It is also great looking!!

When you get this you will do a lot of what the title says.
It's unfair to compare these against their mega-bucks counterparts, so we shouldn't do it. Harley Benton guitars deserve to be judged on their own merits. At £120 your value for money is obvious, at £2. 500 value for money is not very clear. This telecaster is an excellent guitar, the price tag is a big bonus. I have 30 guitars, most have had expensive upgrades, even when not required. my wallet says it's time i altered my strategy. As with all low cost guitars, the weakest point is the electronics, cheap moving components will fail sooner or later, and with that in mind i will upgrade the switch, pots, capacitor, jack and wiring, everything else is good enough to keep, it will still be a great guitar. The changes are not vital, just advisory. Only nit-picking but the timber suppliers seem to be cutting the wood differently as the grain seems to be side on now rather than on the top, but still nice.
Give this Guitar a shot before you spend even 199.99 on a Fender!
im a hobbist as far as guitar player. I ordered a road worn fender and was disappointed with it and returned it. I saw this guitar in youtube and it seemed to have quite a few good reviews so i figured what the heck! I was impressed with the fact that it came from germany in about 10 days. The guitar is really well made. Out of the box it was only 1/2 step out of tune. Fit and finish was good. Neck is a tad thick but after you play it for awhile you will never notice. I found myself really looking to find faults, but for around 145.00 shipped i couldn't. Dont expect a American Fender and you will be pleasantly surprise.
Love this guitar
This guitar feels great, I?ve had it for over 12 months now and it is wearing nicely, I seem to pick this guitar over the others I own. I would highly recommend this instrument no matter your standard.
Best bang for the buck!
I've been using this as my go-to guitar for the last 2 months! The quality of the built is way above the 129 price range and even when recording it the pickups do a excellent job in capturing full frequencies!
The neck is a pleasure to play and needed. The action on the one I' e received needed no adjusts at all on the guitar, what I was surprised.
This guitar would be a more than excellent choice for a firt timer or as a second/optional guitar!
GOOD FOR THE PRICE
Cool guitar for those wo want a Telecaster in a budget.
very confortable to play , great fat neck like a fender , Tuners do the job, no need to replace them . The lacker is good and even, no huge deals, on thing that bugs me is the parsley model have a wilkinson brigde with brass tunning pegs, this one for more 10 euros could have one to . Ill buy a wilkinson bridge and put it there (the bridge that came is fine ok), the brass saddle give it more entonation and sustain , the Nut is plastic , like in many guitars under 500 euros , so have to go, replace it for a graphite one, the sound is Ok , i think the roswell pickups will do the job, so no need to replace them , ill replace the tone and volume control for a CTS ones with more quality, that will change the sound a lot with a little money, the frets are good but have some sharp edges, nothing that 10 minutes with a file dont do the job , i do that on all my guitars, have to do it in my Fender strat of 600 euros so....
Overal very good for the price, it put a smile on me, its 4 kg more a less, i?ve guitar more heavy and more expensive, it ash, so its a Bright Sound tele, its great. Buy it , you dont regret it , and with more 50 euros you can transform the sound and the playability of the guitar like a more expensive fender that cost 5 times more.
TE-52 hands on review
You get far more than what you pay for. 4.3kg, fat neck, great pickups, came almost perfectly set up, plays like a dream.... The best bang for the buck guitar you can get from Harley Benton? or was that the CST-24 I bought last time... hell they both are :)
A nice beginner guitar!
I bought this guitar as a gift for a friend who just started playing guitar!
He is very happy both with the looks and the sound of the guitar.
I find the guitar a bit difficult to play becasue of the fat neck, but this is just a personal preference.
Considering the cost, it is sure worth it, especially if it is destined for a beginner.
It is not a guitar to record with, but for home use it is ideal and it sure looks beautiful!
guitar is not good
its a B stock and says its usable, yes its usable but its not good. The nick is not aligned with the string and body.
Price performance ratio is perfect. Nice wood drawing. For a few euros a great guitar.
Very impressed, quality, sound, delivery
The natural finish on this TE-52 is absolutely like fine furniture - no imperfections at all. Body is from 2 pieces, but very well matched and joined in center. No issues with any loose screws or mis-aligned, etc. Plays as you would expect with twangy bridge to more muted neck PU, and combo in between. String height about as low as you can go. May need slight intonation adjustment, but very pleased. Of course price is amazing. Ordered Dec 12 and in hands Jan 2 - very good for over holidays shipping DHL in DE, to USPS in states. Now I'll just need to decide which to buy next!
Exceeded expectations
Been looking for a tele style guitar for ages and after viewing countless videos on YouTube came across this model.
Arrived with no issues and can confirm is amazing product.
I cannot find any flaws so far and the sound and feel exceeds expectations and cannot see why anyone would justify needing to buy any other guitar of the tele style unless it is purely a brand bragging thing.
Trust me, this guitar doesn't disappoint and I am a hard to please person.
I recieved the guitar with crack it he body near neck and bough on the fretboard, tuning heads is very poor quality.
What a great guitar
When I opened the box I was amazed, surprised and blown away by just how good this TE-52 is.
The only tweaks I have done is to get the Roller String Trees and the Security locks. Boy does it play good and feel good and slips past the Financial Spend Checker I married xx
If this an example of what you get for your buck then go buy whatever catches your eye.....NOW!
Great value for the price
I play guitar since more than 40 years, have been a pro for a while and provide myself to set up my guitars. I owned ?66 and ?69 Tele?s.
Pros:
These are few elements but the most important for low-budget instruments.
- true solid woods;
- good Alnico pickups;
- good tone and playability;
Cons:
- body finish is too thick and glossy for my taste;
- frets needed polishing (easy to do it by yourself);
- neck angle needed a correction for better action;
- tuning gears are nice but not precise;
- the five (!) body-parts aren't well matched, the last little splice is even much darker and looks ugly so I'm considering to refinish it. But that's my fault because I didn't return it for a replacement (actually I've seen other TE-52's with far better grain matching). I'd suggest the producer to finish the bad-matched bodies in solid colors.
Overall this guitar has very good quality for a beginner and/or for further improvements.
Perhaps the best T-style guitar for the price.
Surprisingly Good.
Believe the hype, for the money these are great.
I use in open g for stones covers in a band, whilst its also saved a few gigs when ive broken a string on my Gibson!
Its pretty heavy being solid Ash, but decent tone from the stock pickups, its not a fender usa but at a tenth of the price its not going to be.
Always stays in tune, and the neck is lovely.
Recommended.
Happy
Happy with this tele much more then I expected
Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series
I am really suprised. The sound of the telecaster is decent.
I was not expecting much for the quitar for 130 EURO and this guitar confirms that money doesn't sound.
We Have a Winner!
This is a great guitar, but my You Tube video review will do it justice better than my words can do here. search YT for "Harley Benton TE52 Guitar Review (Telecaster Copy)"
