A VERY NICE GUITAR

My guitar plays very well out of the box.No set up needed. Excellent sound.

Solid Vintage Feel

I always said to myself that the Tele was the original guitar that started it all... owning a true genuine one was always going to be an expensive endeavour. The HB te52 allowed me to get a feel for that without the risk involved of would or wouldn't I like it.

I have to be honest... at first I wasn't in love with the guitar... it came set up well but i changed the strings first day.. i cleared up the frets, they were a little gritty when bending and i lowered the action with a slight twist of the trust rod... Much Better!!! However i was still not 'connecting' with my new instrument... you know that feeling folks.

Fast forward to today almost 10 months after i first held the hefty te52 in my hands, and the American ash body is beautiful to behold, i have become to appreciate the simplicity of the telecaster design. You see i bought it for a reason and i believe that the te52 achieved its goal and so much more. I would prefer to mod this particular guitar in the future rather than going all out on an original down the line. Improvements could be made to almost every aspect of the guitar save for the body. Its a perfect modding platform but it absolutely stands up out of the box as is.

A great Guitar. Well done Harley Benton.

(ps. I'm still a Strat guy but slowly slowly!! ;)

Unbelievable value

Tuners are eh, Fret needed polishing and crowning to make this worth 3x the cost. Pickups are surprisingly accurate it's American counterpart.

Vintage guitar.

Great inexpensive guitar. Very nicely done. With a beautiful wood texture under a thick layer of transparent glossy varnish. Fittings without any complaints. Everything is secured and screwed on neatly. The tuning pegs rotate tightly, they hold the tuning. Volume and tone controls rotate smoothly with noticeable effort, but without noise or jamming. When playing, the pickup background is minimal. The neck is covered with a matte varnish. The anchor is adjustable. The ends of the frets do not stick out or scratch. But the fret surfaces need polishing. The height of the strings above the 12th fret from the magazine is 2 mm, but it can be easily reduced to 1.5 mm. Strings through the body. Sounds noticeably quieter when played with an unconnected guitar compared to other telecaster guitars in use. The weight of my Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series is 4.2 kg, heavy.

I've always wanted a vintage tele - not disappointed!

I've always been a Fender strat man, but I've always had my eye on those orange vintage teles. I finally had a bit of spare change lying around and I had previously purchased a Harley Benton vintage bass which was amazing (to me - not a bass player). So I picked up the HB vintage tele and I am so happy that I did!!!

I used it primarily for recording and it has that awesome tele twang, but also sounds great as a smooth rhythm guitar, and even some good lead tones.

It's got a beefy neck, which is different than most strat necks, but it is still quite comfortable. Everything on the guitar is great, the hardware is nice, the neck and frets are perfectly good. I didn't even need to adjust the neck and I like low action guitars without any buzzing.

The pickups are good, and while not perfectly quiet when running into distortion, they are just as quiet as my Fender strat. All in all this is a great guitar!

Another great guitar from Harley Benton.

I heard a comparison between this guitar and a Fender Telecaster costing around $1500.

This sounded better to me. I am really pleased with it.

Excellent vintage style telecaster

Built well, looks outstanding, and plays very well. For the price you simply cannot beat this one. The only complaint I have is that the ferrules fall out when you change the strings but not a big deal to glue them in. Not enough to drop the rating because it really is an excellent value.

A Great Guitar!

This was my first Telecaster, had never even held one, now I have three. The fit and finish couldn't be better. This model is better than the Squire models and compares well to the Fender. Tone is almost the same as a Fender. Great for beginners or intermediates, or budget conscious advanced players.

Pro quality for so little cost!

I've spent decades earning a living playing guitar. I wasn't interested in buying any more guitars until I came across these (quite late it seems). I had read reviews for the TE-52 (and other HB guitars) before deciding to take a look for myself. I'm sure all the finer details have been covered by others already. I paid £129 for mine and they have been increasing in price with the changes to currency and supply chains due to the current ongoing problems of the pandemic. Even so I think the guitar is an excellent buy. I really didn't expect it to be as good, but it's a well finished guitar. The pickups are fine for me and I wouldn't change them. Guitarists often have their own unshakeable opinion on pickups and some would hear cheap just because the guitar is cheap. I would swap these out just like I have on other guitars but they actually sound great. The neck is superb - I love the satin finish and the fret job is good... no sharp ends etc. They were a little rough on the surface but just playing it for a while seemed to smooth them out I was gonna rub them down but I played the thing for hours & hours - couldn't put it down so they eventually just felt smooth. I did adjust the action (truss rod & bridge). I'd expect to do that on any guitar out of the box. It plays so well and sounds great - that is really all I want from any guitar (it does look really nice as well though lol). I don't care what's on the headstock but the fact that it's not an expensive brand makes me feel like I'm getting an incredible deal cos I've played "name" guitars that weren't as good as this. One minor issue - the tuners are stiff but work. I have since bought 2 other HB guitars (B-Stock) and they were more expensive but the tuners were better (Grovers on one). I will be buying more HBs just because they are capturing classic guitar types I'd like to own - they do it well and they do it for unbelievably low cost. I would never consider buying the originals at what seems to be extremely inflated prices now I've played these.

Great guitar for the price range

This guitar sounds good and feels great to play. it came fully set-up out of the box with the string action a bit too high for me, leveled frets and perfect intonation.

The body and neck both look and feel great, mine came with a two piece body with nice grain and no scratches or dings. The pickups sound just like a T-syle guitar should.

There was one big problem with my guitar being the tuners. Only one of them really worked, the rest either had huge dead spots or refused to turn at all.

In the end after replacing the tuners this is now my favorite guitar and I would recommend it to anyone looking for one even compared to instruments 4 times the price of this one.

Beautiful Guitar !

Unbelievable guitar for the price;

Good quality and choice of woods;

Well built;

Surprisingly heavy for my expectations;

I would recommend an immediate upgrade of the bridge, nut and tuners if one can although I did have the impression that stock ones were very "respectable".

Great guitar for price

Thanks to Tomann and Harley Benton for the opportunity to buy quality musical instruments! The guitar is just great! I heard that for some people guitars are not in very good condition and I was worried. But maybe I’m lucky, my TE52 is absolutely free of defects, with the sound of a guitar for $ 300, and even better

Harley Benton TE-52 NA - cheap, solid, great

Pros: Great playability for a small price)

Very comfortable neck. 1-piece (!!!) deck. Flawless-built guitar overall. Sounds great - warm neck pickup and bright, biting bridge, almost competitive with the original F Tele. Much better than any Squire I've seen (if you're trying to decide what to choose). Very nice balance - no matter if you stand or seat. Even ex-factory strings are okay for the first time.

Con: it's really heavy. Comparing with my Epi SG - it's even HEAVY. I've played different guitars inlcuding LP copies - TE-52 is the heaviest. I'm a rather big guy, so I'm okay with it. But if you're small and beginner - be aware, you might be tired of its weight in an hour.

In general - I'd recommend for home use. Maybe even for gigs, but you'd better change the machine heads for something better. I've ordered Kluson locking ones, but yet haven't managed to install them.

Fantastic

The TE-52 once unboxed exceeded all expectations. Beautiful finish, playability and overall experience playing it. Pros are that 99% of the guitar is absolutely perfect, the only 1% which could be a con for people playing higher end guitars is that the tuners could feel better, but they do the job at the price range fantastically well. OVerall I am very happy with this guitar

TeleSound!

HARLEY BENTON

A very solid guitar.

I was surprised at how heavy it is!

Needed a little setup ootb, but the neck and fretwork are top notch.

I`d say it`s one of, if not the best Tele`s I`ve ever played..

I was very surprised by the quality of this guitar, you can feel it just holding it.

Well done!

Excellent Guitar

Ciao, Amici! Per questa chitarra:

Great sound, nicely built. A little bit of buzz from the pickups when use the digital effects, but otherwise, it's really a great guitar and worth the price. Solid, great intonation, beautiful jangly sounds for jangle pop, surf and rockabilly. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND diese Gitarre. Sehr gut fur die Preise.

Ehm just wow.

Honestly i don't know what to say i just love this guitar, it is pretty much perfect for me any way and the finish is superb i haven't found a single flaw.

Ok for the price it obviously isn't a custom shop item but god damn it is good or maybe i am just lucky. This thing sustains for ever and feels quality. The frets aren't perfect a bit rough not terrible but could be better.

Hardware seems fine but i have changed the pots, tuners and bridge saddles to compensated brass ones. This is more to do with personal preference than anything else.

At the end of the day i love this thing it just feels right and sounds fantastic for me it's perfect.

Excellent for the price

Very nice instrument as expected after reading so many good reviews. Just a few of things to consider:

1. It comes with 10-46 strings (not 9-42 as advertised)

2. Rather high intonation. Managed to go as low as 2mm(12th fret) on the high E before the saddle screw pops out. I guess new saddles may allow lower string hight.

3. Fret edges are good. Some frets would be better off with polishing but after a few hours of bending they feel good already.

4. Guitar is kinda heavy.

Overall looks and sounds great. Good choice not only for beginners but those who are not brand snobs.
