Harley Benton TE-52 NA Vintage Series 5-stars Reviews
Impressed!
Wow. It's all true what they say about this guitar - including its weight!
This is my first HB, and due to all the reviews I have read, I expected it to be good. It is. Finish is flawless. Really nice frets - nicely polished and no sharp ends. The neck overall feels really great. I am usually a Gibson/Epi guy so the flatter fretboard feels familiar. Nice handful.
I ordered replacement tuners along with the guitar as this was something others have said were not great. However, mine work fine so I will leave them. Keeps tune very well.
My only niggle is that the top front edge of the saddle is a little sharp and digs into my palm. I'll try filing it otherwise I will replace it. I did put in a set of Wilkinson compensated brass saddles, and intonation is perfect.
I will definitely be trying out one of the ST guitars. I wish they did a hardtail ST though.
Highly recommended
Tele Everybody
I always wanted a Telecaster and I finally got one. This butterscotch vintage model is beautiful and sounds as good as it looks. I've compared it with other Telecasters and it sounds as good as any other Telecaster including the ones that cost ten times as much. Get that country twang or add some overdrive and rock out!
Great value, great guitar!
I'm sold on the quality of your products.
They exceeded my expectations!
Still my favourite
I’ve had this for a couple of years now and although I have quite a few guitars it’s still my number one.
It is everything you could ever possibly want in a telecaster.
It looks sounds and plays absolutely brilliant.
The pickups are great the tuners work well and the tone and volume pots work well with a nice taper and easy to dial in your sound.
The only downside is that it’s quite a heavy beast. But since I do most of my playing seated it doesn’t bother me in the slightest.
Great guitar.
Amazing Value
Very impressed with the value of the TE-52. Roswell pickups produce excellent sound. Quality well above the price. Only downside is the weight but should be expected with a solid ash body. Highly recommend.
Superb
Bought this guitar 20 20 and cannot find fault it is a fantastic guitar top quality wood is beautifully finished I like everything about this guitar including the weight well done guys
ABOVE ITS PRICE
This guitar is a solid guitar for the price.
A little on the heavy side, but it is a pleasure to play and sounds great.
You will not be disappointed for the price.
Exactly as expected
I watched a lot of videos selecting this T style. A tuner was damaged in shipping and customer service shipped the part on the same day on my email only. Neck is amazing and love the weight. Put a strap on for sitting, my jaw met the tuners as it’s butt slid off my leg.
T-style Masterpiece!
I just picked this one up earlier this week and I am once again wowed by Harley Benton! I tested out a $600 brand name competitor's T-style guitar earlier this week and it felt cheap and inconsistent sound-wise in comparison to this gem. Right out of the box the finish, frets, action, and intonation were all flawless! I tried really hard to find any problems and I have to say I found nothing. The pickups are crisp, defined, and produce the exact sound I was looking for in an electric guitar. This guitar has the ability to be really versatile and would be a fine choice for beginners and advanced players alike. If you are on the fence like I was about buying a Harley Benton TE-52, just buy it. You will not be disappointed!
Fantastic buy.
It's as close to the real thing, as you will get. Well built, sound is spot on, crappy tuners, no biggy.
HUGE BANG FOR THE BUCK!
The 4th Harley Benton TE series guitar ive bought. Killer guitar for the money.
3 years later and still banging
I bought that guitar in 2019 and I still play with this one everyday. Yes the bridge pickup is too bright but the tone knob does the job. The neck pickup is fantastic. Never had to upgrade, everything still works perfectly
Wow Wow Wow
After reading so many good reviews about HB guitars, I decided to take the plunge & buy this stunning looking Tele. I have been playing for 20 years, both professionally & for fun. I play electric & acoustic when I am at shows, but this is my first ever tele style guitar. I will try & be as levelheaded as possible when writing this, as I only have about 2 hours playing time on it so far.
Straight out the box, the set up was spot on for my preferences. No action required there. I notice a lot of people mentioning the weight, but as a seasoned Gibson Les Paul player, I can honestly say the weight is not an issue for me at all. It is pretty much the same weight, so I have no complaints on that front. Another thing I noticed people mention a lot was the tuners. To test this, I tuned it up & played for 10 - 20 minutes with LOADS of bends, hit the strings hard & to my amazement, still perfectly in tune. Unreal! The final thing I was slightly worried about was the amount of people saying the frets desperately needed a polish. Absolutely not the case (with mine anyway). There was no "scratching" at all. It is unbelievably smooth. I will even go as far to say this plays better than my GLP, albeit that has not had a service for a while. This thing holds sustain really well!
The only downsides from what I can tell (this is probably more personal) is the 3-way switch & when playing at lower volumes. I keep hitting the switch when playing & it seems to move very easily. I will learn to get around that. Also, when playing on the E higher than the 12th, it feels a little "weak" but again, I suspect this is a personal thing & may well change once I crank the volume up.
Overall, I am so impressed with the guitar. It sounds like a Tele should & feels like a Tele should. I tip my hat to Harley Benton.
I am not a brand snob at all. If it feels good / sounds good, I'll play it. I've already filled my basket with 3 other guitars & will look to buy these without hesitation as soon as funds allow me & I cannot wait to start a serious collection of these amazing guitars. Cracking job.
Great Value
This is a great guitar . Better than guitars costing 10 times this much buy now!
Sounds and play awsome !
I don't regret taken a guess on this guitar, beautifully made, sound just as the real deal plays sweet !
A brilliant tele
I have a great many guitars over the last 40 years, and I’ve been playing ever since I was 16 years old. This is truly an excellent guitar regardless of price. The first thing I noticed about it was the weight, really solid And substantial, which suits me just fine. The next thing is the glorious finish and the really easy to play Neck. I have played this a few weeks now before leaving this review, and it really is as good as my USA found a telly which cost me over a grand.
Lots of issues
Worked my ass off on this one but turned out good
Great Telecaster homage both on looks and sound. Smashing deal!
Overall...very close to original. Stellar!
Really fantastic guitar
Really fantastic guitar straight out of the case. I customised it by changing a few bits but it didn't "need" to be done and it compares very highly with the lower priced versions of the guitar it copies. And I've kept the pickups as they sound perfect. The only small minor thing is the weight which might be your consideration but I play it sitting down so it's not an issue.
One of the best telecaster models for the price
