Harley Benton TE-30 BE Standard Series Reviews
For the price it can't be beat.
The TE-30 is a fantastic instrument. When you consider the price point it is unrivalled. It is on the heavy side which is worth noting, and the tuners are loose. All that said it's a lot of guitar for a very good price.
great guitar for the price¡¡¡
bought this Guitar after Reading great reviews-
didnt like the narrow frets on the neck, so changed a neck for a T70 H.Benton.
didnt like the off white color, a sander came handy, now she is in a natural color, no paint, no Varnish, just teak oil.
invested in total 80Euros on top, and i have a great guitar. if narrowfretts dont putyou off. BUY IT
Another gem
What can I say - another gem - arrived set up with no issues - sounds suburb - quality miles above it's price range - I have a top end brand name telecaster and this Harley equals it on sound and comes very close to matching it on quality - It does not make any sense
great guitar
Such a great guitar at a great price
Amazing cheap guitar
It is my main guitar for rehearsals right now.
To put it shortly, it does its job. What else do you guys need?
It looks great, sounds like a tele, was playable out of the box. And it is cheap, so I am not afraid if anything happens to it.
The most serious drawback was the sharp fret edges after some time of usage, but I easily fixed that with a file.
I believe it is one of the best choices if you want to try out a telecaster-styled guitar and you care more about the amount of money you pay for a serviceable instrument rather that the logo on the headstock.
Good value for the price
It's my first Harley Benton guitar and first tele as well. Bought it for my teenage daughter for practising. Guitar looks good and overall quality is good. For the weight it's quite heavy. Sustain is ok. Compared to MIM player Jazz master sustain is weaker and neck feel is thicker also. Usually nobody talks about neck and this is important to know if you like very thin neck guitar. This is a little thicker one. Action can be set quite low though. Bridge pickup sounds good but neck sounds a little too dim.
Pros. Overall good quality. Neck and body is made from real wood witch is quite rear for that price range guitars. Bridge pickup sounds nice.
Cons. Maybe little heavy and neck is a bit too thick for me. For this guitar 6th string tuner is a bit loose.
But overall good value for the money and I keep it.
TE-30
World class value for the money. Plays well and sounds like a tele. Would recommend to anyone
Brilliant
Cheap, looks great, sounds really good, ideal for the studio for a visiting guitarist or for working out ideas, changed the strings and top nut and its a very usable guitar
Forecaster 5x
Exce!lent for money lovely guitar
Amazing value for money!
Great guitar, I wanted Tele type guitar but could not justify the high price tag of the major brands, This TE-30 fits the bill perfectly.
The Neck is on the thick side, so I would not recommend for those with small hands, Personally I like it, the fret work and finish on the neck is top notch and is very comfy to play, Only gripe here is the frets have been leveled but not polished so are a bit scratchy when string bending, At this price point it's a minor issue and they'll smooth out once played in.
the body is well finished and looks great, It is very heavy so if weight is an issue maybe look for a Basswood bodied Tele,
Tonally what more can be said, I sounds like a Tele!, the pickups are Ok obviously not up to the standards of aftermarket brands but then you should not expect them to be for this price.
Easily able to cover the traditional Tele sounds without any fuss.
I do not agree with other reviewers that "it's as good as a fender or other name brand" because it clearly is not and nor should it be expected to be, In it's own right it's a great guitar, for the price it's a steal really, I have been playing guitars for more than 30 years now and have used many different makes and models over the years, the Te-30 is a decent instrument whether you are a beginner or more advanced I'm very pleased to add it to my collection.
I only wish they had been made so well when I was a beginner!
AMAZING!!!!
I purchased this guitar a while ago and paid about $100.00 for it. This is one budget friendly guitar that you DO NOT need to exchange the pickups. I let a well seasoned guitar player and teacher play it and he was blown away about it's quality and when I told him what I paid for it he was shocked. This tele style guitar needs no upgrades at all.
Cool top load TL with big quality and little price
buyed for home use this bd boy show real twang of tl tone. Really good from the box.
TL must be simple and enjoyable, and he is
Nice looking, well made guitar
Really great guitar for this price. Fretwork and all assembly is good. Weakest part of this guitar is pickups and electronics. Buts its akay fo this money and I can fix it
Incredible value for price
I initially bought this guitar just to have an instrument that I can always have near me, out of the case. You know, in order to practice a lot and not care about cleaning and caring immensely for it. But god damn, I like this guitar so much I can't not clean and care for it. It's just a very very good guitar. Sounds great, looks great, is very comfortable and the neck profile makes it super easy to play.
I can recommend this instrument to both experienced and new players. If you ever felt like having a Telecaster? Just go for it man, the price is low, the quality is great. The only small little thing is the setup, which wasn't too great, but let's be honest, that happens even with instruments valued over 2000$. All my schecters, jacksons and ibanez's had the same problem.
To conclude. I absolutely recommend it :)
HB TE30 Electric guitar. a bargain
Pros-Well made, solid not to heavy
Sound on these pickups surprisingly good
Hardware no problems,
Tuners stay in tune.
Cons- none
amazing for price, good overall.
Great guitar
At first I got worried about a lot of fret buzz, but after adjusting the rod, action intonation and pickup hight, all fret buzz disappeared completely. And after that it was heaven.
Great guitar, great feel, and great particular tone.
Te 30 review
I've owed many guitars over the years that I've been playing and can honestly say I was very impressed with the quality and sound of this guitar, straight out of the box the set up was excellent, the frets were finished well, a lot of people moan about the tuners but to be fair they are no different to a squire in quality they keep tune reasonably well and at this price point you can really complain all in all a great instrument at an excellent price.
Pleasantly Surprised
For a guitar around $100 I really have no complaints. It is lighter than my SX tele and the neck feels a lot nicer than I thought. The only thing to note is that the frets might need to be polished but overall you get a really nice guitar.
Great Entry Tele
I own several guitars from budget to high end, been playing for almost 20 years, and this was my first foray into a telecaster style guitar. After finally arriving given the current global situation, I must say the guitar is truly impressive! It needed a minor setup on the truss rod, action and pickup height, but expected since it's shipped from half way across the world.
The guitar plays and sounds fantastic! It has some weight to it and I like the grain of the ash body coming through the paint. My only gripe would be that the tuners aren't the best, but you have to keep in mind everything you're getting at this price point. Playability is where it's at and the pickups get the job done. Hardware/pickups can always be upgraded, I wouldn't be able to tell if Fender pickups really sound that much better. I would focus on the looks when shopping at this price point because truly great hardware/pickups are standard on guitars worth several hundred dollars more.
Overall, the guitar looks great, feels and plays great and has that tele spank you're looking for. Great buy for a beginner or modder.
I love this guitar!
I got my TE-30 a couple of years ago when they still had the 22 fret necks instead of the current 21.
I have over 100 guitars and I tend to play this one way more than its fair share because it is such a joy to play. I love the slightly full neck carve and the flatter 12" fretboard radius . The minimal satin finish on the neck feels nice too.
I have had no desire to "upgrade" the pickups because I love the "woody" tonal character they impart. They record very nicely and drive effects pedals well too. A bit different than the usual Tele "twang", but that's what I really like about it!
It looks like a 3 piece body and they could try to match the Ash body pieces better, but at this price it's not that big of a deal. Maybe a little more opaqueness in the finish is in order to minimize the contrast of the woods.
The only real thing that I don't like is that the Pickguard and control plate are not really replaceable. I would prefer a black pickguard to the gaudiness of the pearl variety!
All said though, despite its bargain price, this is an absolutely WONDERFUL instrument and I love the sound and feel and play-ability of it - and that's what really counts!
