Harley Benton TE-30 BE Standard Series 3-stars Reviews
Get what you pay for...ish
Guitar seems solid but the neckplate and bridge on mine had the chrome pitted...not great
Sound not bad but will be upgrading, tuners, pickups, neck plate and bridge ( the last 2 due to poor quality and not personal choice)
Setup was awful initially and will need some fret sorting to get the action somewhere near playable
Decent for the money
good points : looks great, has the typical tele sound
Not so good points: It is heavier than i expected and i expected it to be heavy, Nut slot was marked but not cut at all playing open chords made it way #sharp, normal tele nuts will not fit as the radius is so flat and do not match, tuners some good some very tight and notchy so do nothing then jump, saddles down as low as they go and action is still a mile high, neck is dead straight no relief even after adjusting the truss rod just stays straight, needs some work which i will do in time but in no hurry, over all not bad think is a coin toss some are great guitars from other peoples reviews and some not so
Good for the price
Chip on top of the headstock as if it was dropped head first on the ground (keep in mind the packing boxes were perfect), chip on the finish near the input jack, two blemishes on the finish near the controls, frets filthy really need polishing, lower side of neck very rough, strings that come with it are nasty.
It sounds good, has a nice weight to it's solid body and can hold notes very well. If you don't mind spending a bit of time (or money) dressing the frets better and swapping the strings straight away it's good value.
Really At that Price
Solid ash body, for that price, unbelievable to be honest. Solid build. feel guilty that it cost so little.
Would have given it 5 stars but on arrival the jack socket did not work and was faulty. But instead of the hassle of returning it i refitted a spare i had from another guitar.
Apart from that, the bridge pick up is a bit micro-phonic but that is coming out anyway.
Project guitar
I bought this guitar mainly for the price of this ash body tele. The set up was ok when I got it, but I had to fix some string buzz. After playing for a while it felt ok, easy to play at least and good acoustic sound. But I was not very impressed by the neck it was a bit big and odd. So I sanded it down a bit and now it's good. It's more of a Ibanez neck then a classic fender tele. I was never really impressed with this guitar (well for the price yes but otherwise no). So I decided to make it an project partcaster guitar. So now I have changed the bridge and made it an string true and changed the pickups (and I'm going to change the electronics to). So now this guitar is starting to grow on me. For this price I would recommend it.
not very good
This is a cheap tele copy in every way
Saddles, bridge tuners & wiring would have to be replaced to work properly
body is solid wood but doubt its ash neck is bearable with a bit of work
It sounds ok though
Pick a Squier over this !
