Top notch for the money

This is my third HB guitar and first bass, just to qualify my comments, I own numerous guitars ranging from HB to a Duesenberg Paloma at 10 times the price of the HB guitars.

The ethos behind the HB brand of guitars ( in my understanding ) is to provide well made instruments at very affordable prices, all my HB guitars have met and more importantly exceeded this, maybe I have just been lucky in the ones I have received, but this is all I can give my opinion on.

Sure they are not perfect in every way which is usually the case with far more expensive guitars as well, but being so pocket friendly any minor things like setup and sharp fret ends can be forgiven and easily rectified.

The controls work better than expected, they are budget small sized pots but the wiring is extremely good and all the pots are smooth and noise free, a good range of tone can be dialed in by blending the Bridge and Neck pickups for a desired tone, i.e. for a bright slapping tone have the Bridge full on and the Neck full off and for a smooth jazz sound do the reverse and roll off some tone with the tone control, or go any where in between, the range is very good if you have set a good tone on your amp to start with, personally, I’d start with the amp tone controls at their mid points and the the Bass Bridge full on Neck full off and tone full up, then adjust the tone controls on the amp until you have the brightest sound with depth or weight that you are likely to want to hear, from then on you should be able to dial back the highs using the guitar controls alone, without having to keep going back to your amp

Tone is a rabbit hole that we can all get lost in and is very personal, so just enjoy the process of finding the tone that pleases you.

Blown away,

I’ve been playing guitar for over 35 years. Decided to get a bass. I’m left handed, so choices limited. This thing is amazing. Showed a friend who worked in music store for 20 years, he said the wood was worth more then I paid. No set up needed, ready to play out of box. Sounds So sweet. Love.

Harley Benton JB-75MN LH Review

Great product, even thought it is on the heavy side, its tone and versatility gets the job done for all genres

Great bass for the money

Very well built bass. Good tone and versatility. You really can't expect better than this for the price. Bought for my 14 year old son to try a bit of bass sh he plays 6 string generally. He reckons this plays absolutely fine straight out the box.

Amazing product

I have been using this bass for a while now and what can i say that hasn't been said yet?

This is my first bass and it is a great first instrument to learn how to play. Awesome finish, great sound and quality build.

The only cons that i can think of is 1. The weight can be heavy at times. My leg fell asleep a couple of times however this was when i was already using it for a while without a break, 2. I have had a couple of times when i had a buzzing sound coming from the bass when i didn't even touch it, but leaves just as a mute the strings.

If you are looking for a good LH Jazz bass, look no further.

Amazing!

Having been playing various basses over the years and most recently a Squire Precision which I've used for recording, I wasnt expecting a huge amount from the JB-75MN based on the price point.

However....not only does it look incredibly cool and very much like the 70's Disco originals, but the playability out of the box is outstanding.

Beautiful sound, perfect action and so easy to play all kinds of style from Jazz, Slap and rock.....This is easily the favourite Bass I have ever owned....or played! :)

Great value for money

Excellent value for the money! Quality in the details and woodwork. Great instrument to start playing bass with. Couple of cons: bit sharp edges and it is not the lightest bass.

Awesome quality for the price.

I doubt there is a better value for money bass out there. Really great quality when considering the price point, yeah it could be a little warmer to my taste and under scrutiny you can see it isn't an £800 bass but I have a P and J from Harley Benton now and I've been impressed with both.

Great bass

As a guitarist I was looking for a new challenge, and with this bass I succeeded, when arived it was setup well, no remarks on finishing either, the bass looks great and plays well, a recommended bass (in any case) for the beginners!

I hav'nt been able to use a amp with this bass but the resonance sounds fine.

Great First Bass

I bought this bass for my son as he was interested in learning and loved the looks of Fender basses. He was over the moon with the Harley Benton JB 75, which arrived promptly in perfect condition and just needed to be tuned, the stock setup was pretty good and he hasn't put it down since. I'm no expert but the bass sounds good to me and seems to be well made. Great value for money and a perfect first instrument for any aspiring bass player.

Does what a great Bass guitar does

I bought this bass guitar to use as a bassline to my guitar on my 32 track recorder,I have used it a lot more than i thought it's that good.

The Bass is heavy as it is supposed to be ,sounds great, fantastic bargain even for a gigging musician...Dont lose out !!!..

Pleasantly surprised by this very nice bass.

Generally, you get what you pay for, so I didn't expect much from this bass. However, I've been very surprised by how nice it feels and plays - it's great.

The body is a 5 piece ash body which looks really nice; even my friends/bandmates comment how nice it looks. The tuners keep tune, look good and feel decent quality. The bridge is really nice, has plenty of mass and is shockingly good for a bass at this price. The neck plays well, the frets are good and I tuned the bass up out of the box and have enjoyed playing since (& this guitar had to fly to Korea where it's really humid at the moment) - no need to do a setup or touch the truss rod; maybe i was lucky, but the bass was a great player right out of the box. The pickups sound good, no reason to change them.

All in all, highly recommended; it's the best value guitar/bass product I've ever bought. I've been enjoying it more than guitars I've paid many times more for. You should get one...

Amazing

Bought this bass for college as I'm doing music technology at A-level, so far it's done everything perfectly, for £100 you couldn't find a better quality bass, might consider changing the pickups but for the price they sound great.

Would recommend.
