Great buy

I simply can not believe the quality of this bass for this price.

Just a little heavy but other then that, brilliant.

My first Bass - not disappointed

I bought this as a first bass to learn on. It feels solid and well built. Only cons are that one or two fret ends are a little rough. And it is very heavy.

Simply awesome

For the money you pay, and the sound you get out of the bass. This is a real bargain. The only thing to watch out for is that it can have two plastic protection pieces on the pickguard. The latter being less visible for your eyes. Of course some parts are not the highest of quality, but the sound is just good. And that is where it counts, at least to me!

Pro's:

- The sound is great

- Price/quality ratio is amazing

- It has an extra less visible layer of plastic on the pickguard, this is great if you want to preserve the condition of it

Cons:

- None so far. Will update the review if I find any

Amazing buy for a first time bass. I use this in my mixes as well. And I must say it sits just great. Exactly where it is supposed to be in a mix. Doesn't need much EQ-ing to get it to sound right. Sometimes I don't even need to EQ it.

Budget Friendly Jazz Bass

For a long time I wanted a bass guitar to play funk, pop and rock music. It is an instrument that cannot be missed for the price of one tenth of the original brand's guitar.

In the version that came to me, the visuals of the tree veins were very beautiful. neck is thin as I wanted. I don't know much about tone but I got a spanky tone.

Having a brass saddle set is also an advantage. The only bad thing I can say about this guitar is that it is a little heavy and makes a slight neck dive, but remember, you get it for a tenth of the price of the name brand!

great bass for the price

this is a great bass, with a great sound, the only negative i have to say about it is that its abit to heavy, i think its almoast 2times as heavy as my other bass, but overall absolutly worth every penny

best price jazz bass

Perfect for beginners. Good wood combination with vintage style pickups. Good potential for modernization. Not perfect fretwork.

Great bass for the price

I have bought it as a present for our starting bassist in our worship band. He loved it straight away. The setup has been great, it sound very nice and looks great. I'm not expecting more than that at this price range :)

Good quality for the price

A really well put together bass, especially for its price. The electronics are not the best, but nonetheless, they are more than decent. A setup done well and you have a great budget bass, you cannot ask for more at that price. I have had it for half a year now, played some rehearsals with the band and it holds really well.

Cheap and quality

I am very happy to buy this guitar. Because it has a good shape, good finish, smooth frets and upgradable with fender equipment. Strings are a little bit high from the keyboard. But it has a good sound.

Really great instrument

Bought this one to play at home and was pretty impressed. I would definitely use it as my main bass. It might not be a Fender of a Sire, but that thing can,t be beaten for the price. Mine came with pretty rough frets and needed some polishing, but still really great.

Great Bass

Was after a budget bass just to do a bit of recording but I'm very happy with what I've got with this one and it arrived very quickly after I ordered it. Playable straight out the box, I recorded a couple tracks with it just an hour after opening it up.

Great sounding, comparable to the Fenders.

Bit on the heavy side weight wise but I'm not going to be using a strap with it.

I'd recommend replacing the stock strings but that's just a personal preference as I wasn't keen on how they felt even though they were new strings.

Love this bass already

Good value for money

This bass has it's flaws- the nut was filed a bit funny, the inlays aren't perfect, the binding isn't perfect, there's a flaw in the finish on the neck, the scratch plate scratches easily, and it weighs a ton.

However, all that aside, the thing plays pretty good out of the box, the action and intoation are fine, and it does sound quite similar to a jazz bass for pennies spent. It's not a jazz bass - it lacks that mid range "honk" that the jazz bass is known for. However, you get a pretty similar sound that's very, very easy to mix when recorded, and it looks cool

Great bass for a beginner bassist

Nothing bad to note about this bass (which's looks I love!), except that the plastic was very hard to get off of under the knobs (I had to remove the knobs and cut the plastic around metal knob with a knife)

Sounds great, handles great, is quite heavy (I guess a quality of basses since they're much thicker built due to strings and all)

Great quality Bass

I was totally blown away at how much quality is packed into such an affordable instrument. Sound and playability, right out of the box was excellent. The only con I could mention would be it's weight, but that being said, I'd prefer a heavy bass instead of one made of cheap wood yet light as a feather. I am a loyal Harley Benton fan from this point on. I'll be purchasing more!

In this bass, everything is very great, very nice in the hands, the sound is also good! the vulture is only a little thick.

Bang for the buck

I am a guitar player and bought this for my home studio, for recording purposes and I also wanted to learn a little bit bass.

I was pleasantly surprised by the instrument quality and performence, it does it's job without any fuss.

You can definitely feel it is not a top shelf instrument and feels a bit cheap in some details, but for the price you get an absolutely usable instrument. I would not hesitate to use it live.

It's a big chunk of wood, so it's a bit heavy, if you fave a bad back and play standing up, look elsewhere.

It's also a good looking piece of gear.

I would recommend to anyone who wants a lot od bass for little money.

There is no better bass than this jazz bass

I have experience with many HB instruments, and was surprised from the very beginning how good they are for the price. However, this one is (seriously) way too good for the money! It came ready straight out of the box (I just fine tuned it). Neck - perfectly straight, great touch, I love the maple, tuners - robust, like on any better JB, bridge and saddle - great, and the brass parts - wow nice, Daddario strings - perfect, the black binding on the neck - lovely. The pickups ? Unbelievable, the sound is seriously better than was on my older mexican fender JB, with minimal hum, knobs feel firm. I can not praise this bass more, it really isn?t just good bass for the money, its great instrument overall. I can really compare it with other expensive basses, and unless you are a giggin pro, you need nothing else! I also have HB PJ-5 HTR Deluxe 5-string bass which is great, but this one is even better. I recommend it to everyone.

One of the best for the price

Not much to say, if you are starting out with the bass, this one is the best choice so far.

Stellar Jazz Bass

Went in expecting to have to do some upgrades as needed. None needed! All it needed was a thorough setup and one of tuners dismantled, cleaned, and lubed. The Roswell pickups sound great, it looks stunning, and the lows are wonderful.

The only cons I could find, after the honeymoon, was the orientation of the ash grain in relation to the pieces of the body. It looks skewed as are the two body seams but only noticeable from the back. The bridge is also slightly skewed. Neither of these would likely be noticed by anyone and have no effect on the playability or sound of the bass which is fantastic! It is a bit heavy, but who cares!

So impressed am I with this bass I have the HB PJ-75 on order. Unsurpassed value....

Basstastic

The secret to buying a good copy bass is simple. Buy the top of the line from the Harley Benton range. This is a very good bass from top to bottom. I have played a Fender Jazz live and this bass feels and sounds very similar. I mostly use it for recording direct to the mixing desk.

The bass balances well on a strap and is comfortable to playing sitting down as well. The hardware is the usual area where budget instruments look to save money, but not here. The Wilkinson pick ups are best quality and the machine heads keep the instrument in tune.

In summary this bass is excellent value for money. It is a match for the Fender Jazz at a fraction of the price. I would be happy to gig with this bass knowing that it will sound good and stay in tune all night long.
